In the doom and gloom which usually follows a defeat, it may be difficult to think about the good things that happened in 2018 but believe me there were some good performances by our cricketers which lead to some memorable moments.

Lets vote for the best one that will sit with you as The memory of 2018 for Pakistan cricket.

I thought it was that time, Fakhar scored the first double ton by a Pakistani.

Nothing comes to mind instantly but thinking rationally Lords victory and Yasir Shah's 8-41.

The test victory, rather comfortably at Lords... Yet again.

Yasirs quickest to 200 wickets and second best ever figures for Pakistan all in one series.

Pakistan exceptional and consistent performances and wins in t20, especially against the kiwis.

Test series win against Aussies , always one of the best feelings to beat Aussies in test series (a rarity for us ).

Pakistan have won 7 series against Oz, don't think that is rare, yes we didn't beat them between 1995-2014 though.

Babar fastest to 2k should be there too as an option

Wow sums up our fans and state of our cricket that people consider this random record special.

I voted for Lords 2018 victory, who voted for Abbas's figures in that match over the win itself! Team is bigger than any player! But yes that victory was amazing, I had little hope in our side but we outplayed England. I was proud that day.

I didn't say it should be the winner dude, just said it should be there as an option.
Similar to 200 wickets record ( though Yasir is a bigger achievement)

Yes , that is true . But since I have been watching cricket I.e 96,97 Australians have been so dominating over us that it gives me more pleasure than winning any other series or tournament barring world cup .
P.s There is not much to choose from as far as it is concerned with pak ‘s achievments in this year. They won the match at Lords in last tour too.

Without question that Yasir Shah spell in NZ.

It is one for the ages and arguably the greatest spin bowling spell ever along with Kumble 74/10

Most memorable moment would be winning the CT 2017 ....it will remain most memorable moment every year for next 25 years

Best (read worst) performers were the PP D&G posters who succeeded in putting a negative spell on Pakistan Team such that Pak ended up losing a series they would otherwise have won.

To me it was Sarfraz's double substantial scores in the second test that led to Pak winning the series against Aus, along with his excellent keeping, despite tremendous pressure on him due to his recent bad form.

Unfortunately people here simply do not understand what a "moment" means. Anyway, I would briefly ignore what a moment actually means and follow the protocol of this thread and thus the PP definition of moment.

It is no surprise that most of the people have picked the Lord's Test as the highight of the year, but personally speaking, I have to go with the Asia Cup humiliation.

After bashing minnows for a year, some of our fans were extremely deluded about the prospects of the team and were greatly mistaken into thinking that the team had genuinely turned a corner and were ready to compete with the top flight teams.

They had become unbelievably arrogant and were in dire need of a reality check, and that is what the Asia Cup provided. A large section of our fans were humbled and reminded of Pakistan's standing in the game. With the South African tour and the World Cup looming, the reality check could not have been better timed, especially when the ominous 5-0 whitewash in New Zealand earlier in the year was conveniently brushed aside as a blip in the radar, which it clearly was not.

Ok let’s rephrase it. What is your favourite positive moment of Pakistan cricket this year?:yk

And don’t say Asia Cup again. Bringing our fans back down to earth is neither a positive or a negative.

Actual definition of moment: cannot think of anything right now.

PP definition of moment: Lord's Test.

In t20s: West Indies tour to Pakistan granted it wasn't an all star line up of West Indies but seeing Karachi hosting cricket matche was nice

In ODI: Fakhar Zaman double ton Agaisnt Zimbabwe

In test: When Yaser shah reached 200 test wickets and fastest to do it

Most people (when they look at past) choose happy moments and smile while others choose bitter ones and whine.

Different breeds, get it?

Yasir Shah's 14 wickets in 2nd Test vs New Zealand

It was like watching a magician conjuring illusions. That spell showed Shah's command on his lines/lengths.

Extraordinary spell of spin bowling. Arguably one of the greatest ever, quality wise.

I prefer the bitter moments provided that they serve something meaningful and can be used as a life lesson.

Judging by reactions on PP, your win against Afghanistan drew quite the relief, or euphoria depending on your mood swings over the course of the match. Afghanistan played lights out cricket that day, I remember posters worrying and cursing the players before Shoaib Malik played the role of finisher to clinical perfection, winning a nail-biter in the final over.

While the Lord's win may have been the performance highlight of this year that Afghanistan match must have been quite the ride. Of course by winning that match Pakistan also got a step closer to the summit clash against India, so the hype and mood here was pretty high and the banter was fun.

If you were to narrow it down to a single moment may be Hasan Ali's 1st ball six of Rashid Khan in the penultimate over when RRR was close to 12 !!!! As a neutral I thoroughly enjoyed that match and especially the finishing stages, we had easily beaten Bangladesh earlier in the day and attention was fully devoted towards the other match.

That’s a good way to look at it.

But in Pakistan cricket we never learn from our mistakes so there is nothing meaningful in these negative moments for our cricketers and administrators.

Correct, but I was talking about the supporters, not the players or the management. The Asia Cup was a lesson for them only.

Afghanistan was very competitive in the Asia cup but it certainly was relieving to win that game. None of the ream showed up except Malik really and Shaheen bowled decently but was unlucky.

Wonder if one from the SAvPak series will be big enough to be added to this list
