It was up to the other teams to play well. Australia selected their B team and Pakistan bungled with their squad selection. On paper India was the strongest team of the tournament and were coming in red hot white ball form for a while.

Dubai has produced closer games to be honest. Games in Pakistan have been a washout or lottery pitches. Made for very boring cricket. PCB would have made more revenue if this tournament was held in Dubai. It would have been a blockbuster. Now it looks likes a flop tournament. Both PCB, ICC to be blamed for not taking a firm decision.

Imagine the scenario where Australia wins against India in semi final. The final would happen in Lahore. What interest will people of Lahore have in such match?? We already have seen empty stands. Atleast now stadium will be full in Dubai even with premium ticket prices which should benifit PCB.
It would have been totally different matter I Pakistan had qualified for final. Same would have been case in India in 23 if we had bowed out of final. BCCI would have struggled to fill half of ahemdabad stadium.

It's an interesting thing to imagine.

The current situation will suit those who hate Pakistan from the gut, regardless of the country's behaviour. And similarly the other side of haters too.

But if India had agreed to play in Pakistan and the same scenario played out with Pak being knocked out and India playing a final in Pak, I can imagine a big Pakistani crowd turning up and supporting Kohli and the Indian team. Even cheering them holding aloft a trophy on Pak soil. It would have been their Chennai moment. And suddenly, we'd have been awash with (perhaps unbearable) sentimentality and sweet talk for a while from both sides.

Pakistan is finally hosting an ICC tournament after 29 years and its cricket fans deserve the same joy and excitement that fans from other nations experience. But due to the BCCI's stubbornness the tournament is being played under a hybrid model. And if India qualifies for the final it will be held in Dubai instead of Pakistan.

Let’s be clear—this isn’t just unfair, It’s a blatant robbery of Pakistan cricket fans' moment, a moment they have waited nearly three decades for. Imagine hosting a tournament after 29 years only to have the biggest match taken away because of one board’s ego. It’s not just disappointing, it’s disrespectful to Pakistan’s cricket fans, who have endured so much to see international cricket return to their home grounds. The BCCI has once again put politics above the spirit of the game, and the ICC is letting it happen.

The point is still lost on a lot of Pakistanis.

It is not the BCCI that is causing the issue, it's the Indian government. BCCI has to follow orders from the Indian government, if the government won't allow Indian team to tour Pakistan, then it's a no no, India will not be present in Pakistan...
