Got to admit, this has got me wanting to sell my Macbook Pro and buy this instead.

Microsoft has really stepped up as a hardware maker ever since they released the Surface Pro which was ahead of the curve compared to the toys/tablets that had been on the market for a while. And Apple pretty much admitted that with their IPad Pro which is still subpar.

The Surface book is definitely better than the macbooks in terms of specs, performance, value for the price and possibilities as a tablet-laptop hybrid.

But I don't like the design of the hinge, it looks kind of dated/early laptop. Also, when you close the lid, it doesn't close fully. That defeats part of the purpose. I think it would bother me too much.

But I think they had to use that weird hinge for their magazine mode which seems pretty cool. It was one of my problems with the surface pro, you always have to keep the base somewhere when not using it.

Great. Another piece of hardware that would be redundant in the next 3 months.

it might be great as a standalone product but def not sth i would sell and replace my macbook pro with.

I guess i've just become bored with Apple products they haven't stepped up their game in a long time.

Pretty much what I think too, but I could live with the design of the hinge.

That's how technology works its always progressing. But this definitely wouldn't be redundant in 3 months.

It's not hardware that becomes obsolete, it's batteries. Without the batteries running out, laptops could last 3+ years. I bought an i7 8 GB Ram laptop two years ago and I definitely don't feel that new laptops are better in hardware but the battery only lasts 6 hours now (vs 12+ at the start). In another year, I'll have to change.

Microsoft's picked up its game big time with SP4. They are definitely coming up with the best gadgets today.

I love the look on the faces of Indians when I pull out MY macbook pro while sitting in a cafe, and appear so casual about it.

Finally switched to the second gen of this and it's lovely. Won't be going back to an Apple product after having keyboard issues with my 2017 MacBook Pro.

I will be mad if they announce the 3rd gen this year. :inti

Still a MacBook fan? I think MacBooks have only gone downhill after Apple reinvented the chassis but they were a great product to buy prior to this.
