The no-confidence vote and implications on PCB administration

Anyone who would give Sharif family a good share of money earned by PCB will get the job, no other experience or qualification is needed.

It’ll be a short lived tenure for Ramiz. He didn’t really accomplish anything, will be very interesting to see who the new regime is and if they can continue to maintain an upward trajectory in terms of relationship building with other boards.

RIP Pakistan cricket. All the crooks now eat up PCB's saving and we will go back no. 9-10 in all format.

I have (fortunately) extremely limited understanding of Pakistani politics.
However, it is quite ludicrous that the governance of a sport is under political control.
Given the “musical chairs” that seem to operate in Pakistani politics, it means that the PCB will constantly be in a state of flux.
Quite, quite pathetic

Now that IK is gone
I am sure now everyone's looking forward to Habib Bank vs KRL

They can't revive departmental cricket - PCB's new constitution doesn't allow it and new regional cricket associations are in place now. Can't imagine the departments, having been forced out, reinvesting in cricket teams again especially in current financial climate.

Najam Sethi in his PP interview said he supports IK's vision of regional FC cricket like most of the ex-chairmen - they just never had the guts (or political backing) to take on departmental lobby.

Glad to hear that

It's quite funny how the ICC technically deems government interference in cricket boards as suspension worthy, and even bans Zimbabwe and other smaller nations for it, then we have here full discussions about how the entire board is changing due to the government situation :))

I know this has always been the case and affects just about every FM but still, kinda funny how blatant the rules are ignored.

I hope this is true & we don't go back to the departmental cricket ever.

Word (from Dawn) is that Ramiz is not going to resign. Anyone know how long his term was supposed to be? Maybe he has received feelers that his job is safe or I suspect he would have jumped before being pushed.

Possible that Shehbaz Sharif will have other priorities for the time being and won't appoint someone new to the PCB, maybe until the general election.

Dont think an interim set up should change things in the PCB.

Ramiz has said that if the govt wants to fire him thats fine but he is going no where right now.

I feel that Ehsan Mani could have survived a PDM government and allowed to complete his term, but Ramiz is so publicly close to Imran Khan that he will be pushed out sooner or later.
