Looking at the success of the young players that have been tried in the last year, What benefit does the national team gain from playing the likes of Malik, Hafeez and other regulars of the ODI and test team. Hasnt it been great to see the likes of Raees, Shinwari Fahim etc. If this was a T20 WC or there was one around the corner then it makes sense to play the regulars. The brutal truth is that no one remembers these T20's in a week never mind in a year.

yes we have to kick ou malik, sarfaraz and hafiz.make hassan captain.

Sarfraz needs to be kick booted too.

I wouldn’t make Hasan the captain, because he will field right in front of the batsman’s face, have 10 slips, make other players do extreme amounts of sledging, taunt the SL batsmen in his run up, etc.

I would make Shadab the captain.

Malik and Sarfraz should be the only 2 staying, Malik brings great experience and merits a spot and Sarfi is captain.

Hafeez, Imad and Shehzad have no business being in the T20 side. The rest of the folks I don't have a problem with.

Shadab Khan as captain for T20. Shinwari as co-captain. It’s been a while since we’ve had a aggressive Pakhtun captain :afridi

Winning these pointless matches in the end is neither here nor there. No one remembers these matches except the odd game or the world T20, so why not blood 3 or youngsters every series. Even if one player comes through, its worth it.What have they got to lose?

Good point by OP. What do we learn from 36 year old Hafeez playing in this series?

It really grinds my gears seeing the 3 you mentioned but Inzi and Mickey love 'experiunce'.

t20 should be a testing ground for younger/inexperiences players.

Hafeez, Shehzad need to go.

Imad doesn't look threatening at all with the ball and looks like a tailender with the bat. Need to look at other options.

Would rather a younger alternative to Malik but at the very least he needs to be rotated.

Yeah, kick the winning Captain! Pakistan needs players like Misbah and hafeez standing in the corner scratching their beard. Sarfraz's job is done after winning a maiden tournament in his leadership role which by the way was just happen to be his luck.

On a serious note, I agree that T20 has to be a mix of A FEW of developmental squad members on rotational base.

I still dont understand why these T20 matches are taken so seriously by the selectors. I am also surprised that Mickey hasnt put his foot down and asked for more young and upcoming players.

Keep whining all you like. People value T20 even if you don't. Learn to live with it. It's taking over.

Yes, T20s should be used for developing players. Anyone over the age of 30 should not be selected for T20s and backup players should be given more chances than regulars in these games unless it is world event.

Yeah and when Pakistan starts sliding down the T20 rankings, there will be a thread for bringing back the seniors. The most whiny fans I have ever come across honestly. Kabhi khush ho jaya karo.

Yes this idea is really good and would make T20Is something to look forward to. Of course a good balance between new players and experienced ones is needed. But at the moment all of the "experienced" players are more of a hindrance to success rather than a helping hand. They inspire nothing but bad habits.

Give 2-3 batsmen/allrounders a chance and persist with them for next 3-5 series. Results are guaranteed if their selection is on merit.

No, if the young players are unable to show any promises for 3-5 series than we try out another batch of new players. Simple process. This way the upcoming youngsters in domestic would also be hungry for success and would know that a call to national team isn't too far away and their performances in domestic actually do account for something. This will keep their motivation level high and they won't be under pressure to look for an alternative career.

Babar need's to open and play thru the innings.

Go for 110 strikerate innings at worst.

This is exactly what we should do. No one cares about T20 rankings and it’s not like Malik and Hafeez have been integral to our #2 position so far.

The likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi etc can be groomed into international cricket through T20I, and it can be a great way to filter talent through.

An international cricket team can never be used as a training ground for newbies. Its an absurd suggestion. Australia used to do it before, but now they have Steve Smith, David Warner, Glen Maxwell etc playing almost every match. You can't expect any team to do wonders at a T20 World Cup if they are using this format to experiment all year. As an international team representing a country, you have to compete in every match you play, no matter what format.

No I think 2 seniors are required in t20s.. Rather than the rankings its about winning.. A team full of rookies will most probably result in defeats and soon it will effect the morale of odi team too.. Win always give confidence and self belief.. Few loses and you will see fans and media going after the players which will hurt their odi and test (if someone is in that squad) form too.

Strictly For tomorrow's game, I would drop Shehzad, Imad, Usman and Hasan and bring in Amin, Yamin, Amir and Raees with Babar opening and Amin at 3. But knowing Sarfraz, the only change we might get is Nawaz replacing Fahim.

Never possible under current management in even near future. They even scare to try Amir Yamin, Umar Amin to replace Hafeez and useless Shehzad. Babar needs to go as well. Barbar should only play ODI.

Definitely agreed for unneeded bilateral encounters, a good working unit optimized for T20s should be used in the leadup to a World T20 but otherwise, there's very little bragging rights in T20s to waste the opportunity in not blooding some new youngster.

Looking at PCB's HK Sixer team, this idea looks like a millennium away. But, the idea is very good - it should be polarized selection - some of the squad with oldies, some kids & rest T20 specialists. Players in their prime and players with high work load should be rested as much as possible.
