The return of Nawaz Sharif

Nawaz Sharif PM again lolol..

And we wonder why Pakistan hasn't progressed?!

Nawaz Sharif to embark on 'private trip to Saudi Arabia tomorrow’
"No plans for PML-N supremo's China and Qatar visits," says senator Irfan Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui, while rubbishing rumours of the party supremo's reports of being in Saudi Arabia, has confirmed that Nawaz Sharif is still in the United Kingdom (UK) and will leave on a "private" trip to the Kingdom on tomorrow (Wednesday).

Stressing that the former prime minister's Saudi visit is of a private nature, the senator told Geo News that the former prime minister has no plans to meet with Saudi officials as he will spend time with his son Hussain Nawaz and will perform Umrah during the Kingdom's visit.

The senator also apprised that the PML-N supremo — who has been living in London following a self-imposed exile since November 2019 owing to health reasons — would reach Pakistan on October 21 after a brief two-day stay in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Addressing the prospects of Nawaz's visit to Qatar and China, Siddiqui said that the former prime minister's relations with these two countries are of a personal and diplomatic nature but for now there are no plans for visits to these two nations.

"Nawaz Sharif's speech at Minar-e-Pakistan would not be of an ordinary politician but that of a visionary leader," Siddqui said while commenting on PML-N supremo's scheduled speech in Lahore after reaching Pakistan on October 21.

He also stressed that the former ruling party believes in parliament's supremacy and the PML-N's narrative of ensuring the "sanctity of [people's] vote"

The ousted prime minister will address a public gathering at 6pm at Minar-e-Pakistan on the same day, senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah had revealed earlier this month.

The establishment have ditched the Billo plan and are now only full board on this plan. Qazi and his drama will remove the legal hurdles and the Generals will rig the elections. Only problem the loser has no support, they can't even get 2000 people out in Lahore. I want the loser Generals to make this cretin PM because it will destroy both parties forever.

PM Kakar rules out 'deal' in Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Thursday dismissed an impression that decision of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan was part of any deal with the interim government, state-run wire service APP reported.

“The caretaker government has ‘no soft corner’ for PML-N or any other political party…How can a caretaker government strike such a deal,” he said in an interview with a digital media platform.

The interim prime minister was responding to a question relating to the PML-N supremo’s homecoming who flew from London to Saudi Arabia yesterday with his announcement to land in Pakistan on October 21.

Kakar pointed out that Nawaz Sharif left the country as per the court decision “under the nose of Imran Khan’s government, and not the caretaker setup”.

“If Nawaz Sharif returns and takes part in politics, he will have to face some legal obstacles, he said. “The answers to these legal questions lie in legal remedies.”

District administration allowed PMLN to hold a rally with several conditions that no speeches institutions shall be made

LAHORE: The district administration has granted permission to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) to hold its public gathering at the Minar-e-Pakistan ground on October 21, 2023.

The district administration allowed the PMLN to hold a rally with several conditions that no speeches against constitutional offices/Armed Forces/Judiciary shall be made.

After getting approval from the district administration, PMLN’s Lahore leadership, including Saif Khokhar and Bilal Yaseen, reached the venue on Sunday and started making arrangements. Senior police officials also reached there and discussed security arrangements.

The PMLN is organising the event as part of grand welcome to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on his return to Pakistan on Oct 21, 2023. He will reach the venue on helicopter from Lahore Airport.

The city has already been decorated with the party flags, posters and banners of PMLN and the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. At some places, ink has been thrown at Nawaz Sharif’s posters.

According to the permission letter (ADC(HQ)/NOC/6358 Dated 14/10/2023) issued by the DC Lahore, the permission at the proposed site was being issued after submission of affidavit/undertaking by the organiser to the effect that in case of any untoward incident, he shall take full responsibility.

The district administration and district police proposed to issue NOC for holding public gathering at the Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore, subject to conditions, including permission from the administration of Parks & Horticulture Authority shall be sought separately and all dues would be paid. Organizers will be responsible for ensuring stage security, security of ladies and gents enclosures, emergency exits, measures for avoiding/controlling stampede and adequate parking through the hiring of private security and volunteers.

Nawaz’s legal team all set to move IHC for relief

• Lawyers finalise three petitions for bail in Avenfield, Al-Azizia, Toshakhana vehicle cases
• IHC has previously granted protective bail to Sharjeel Memon, Arbab Alamgir and others, without prior surrender of convict

ISLAMABAD: The legal team of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has completed its preparations to procure protective bail for the elder Sharif, with at least three petitions likely to be filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the coming days, seeking relief in the Avenfield, Al-Azizia and Toshakhana cases.

The PML-N supreme leader is all set to return to Lahore on October 21, where he is slated to address a public gathering.

Mr Sharif was convicted in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references and was declared a proclaimed offender in the Toshakhana vehicle case, pending before an accountability court in Islamabad. He was on bail in these cases when he proceeded to the UK for medical treatment.

Sources privy to the development said that the petitions seeking protective bail were likely to be filed before the IHC.

IHC grants Nawaz protective bail in Avenfield, Al-Azizia references till Oct 24
The Islamabad High Court on Thursday accepted PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s plea, granting him protective bail in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia cases until October 24.

It comes before the former premier’s impending arrival on Oct 21. His planned return to Pakistan would be after more than four years of self-imposed exile.

In July 2018, ousted Nawaz was handed 10 years in jail in the Avenfield properties corruption reference for owning assets beyond known income and one year for not cooperating with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which was to be served concurrently.

His daughter, PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz, had also been sentenced to seven years in jail in the case but was acquitted in September 2022 along with her husband retired Captain Safdar.

The Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference pertains to the case in which he was sentenced to seven years in jail on Dec 24, 2018 and then taken to Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, from where he was shifted to Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail next day. He was also fined Rs1.5 billion and US$25 million in the case.

Nawaz was released from jail in March 2019, following which he left for London in November 2019 after the LHC allowed him to do so. The IHC declared him a proclaimed offender in both cases in December 2020.

A day ago, PML-N lawyers had moved the IHC seeking protective bail for Nawaz in these two cases, with NAB Special Prosecutor Afzal Qureshi saying that the accountability watchdog did not object to pleas moved by the elder Sharif.

Today, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb took up the pleas.

Nawaz’s counsels, including former law minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Amjad Pervaiz, appeared before the court while NAB prosecutors Rana Maqsood, Qureshi and Naeem Sanghera were also present.

At the outset of the hearing, Sanghera presented his arguments in favour of the PML-N supremo, at which the chief justice asked, “Has the NAB’s stance changed?”

The prosecutor replied, “NAB’s stance is the same.” He went on to recall that the IHC had written in its order that when the petitioner returns, he could “restore his appeal”.

Justice Farooq once again asked, “We had asked the same — what was NAB’s stance? There hasn’t been any change in it?”

The prosecutor responded, “This is the stance for now that if he comes back, we have no objection to it.”

The chief justice then inquired, “Who have you taken directions from?” To this, Sanghera answered that he had taken directives from the NAB prosecutor general.

Justice Farooq then directed him to submit a statement in written form to the court that the NAB had no objection to Nawaz’s return.

Subsequently, the IHC accepted the former prime minister’s plea, granting him a protective bail and restraining the police from arresting him upon his arrival at the airport on October 21 (Saturday).

Justice Farooq and Justice Aurangzeb observed that NAB had no issue with Nawaz being granted a protective bail and issued directives barring the police from arresting him till October 24.

“The honourable Islamabad High Court has granted Nawaz Sharif protective bail until October 24,” Pervaiz told AFP after the hearing. “He can not be arrested on his arrival,” he added.

NS has been selected by the Generals but the problem is that both are hanging onto each other for support like 2 drunks do on a Saturday night. He knows that he has no support and the Generals know they have even less. Sooner or later, something will give and I for one is hoping and praying that these crooks are quite literally dragged through the streets. I want Bajwa and Munir to be hanged along with anyone that has worked in GHQ through this coup, I want the Sharifs and the Zardaris to be hanged and the public can see justice being done and all the (in)justices of the High courts that have played in kidnapping, murder and rape of innocent citizens including Bandial and Isa. Our History shows that none of this will happen but I pray that it happens.

‘Vindicated’ Nawaz Sharif vows to steer Pakistan out of crisis
"The situation in Pakistan is very disturbing which is very worrying," says PML-N supremo at Dubai airport

DUBAI: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif Saturday said that he is returning to the country “vindicated”, expressing confidence in his party to steer Pakistan out of crises.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo was speaking to journalists at the Dubai airport before boarding a special flight to the country, ending four-year self-imposed exile.

Nawaz Sharif, who was ousted in a 1999 coup, is returning to Pakistan for the first time since leaving for London in 2019. He was serving a 14-year prison sentence after being found guilty in two corruption cases before being allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment for a limited time.

The convictions are still in force, but the Islamabad High Court on Thursday barred authorities from arresting him until Oct. 24, which is when he is scheduled to appear in court. His lawyer has said he will contest the convictions.

The PML-N leader cannot run again for election or hold public office because of his convictions, even though his party has said he aims to become prime minister for a fourth time.

The former ruling party has prepared grand arrangements in Lahore to welcome him and a mammoth rally is planned at Minar-e-Pakistan where he will unveil his agenda for the country’s development.

In his pre-departure media talk, the PML-N supremo said that he was returning to Pakistan after four years and lamented that the country is in a much worse situation rather than being in a good position.

“The situation in Pakistan is very disturbing which is very worrying,” said Nawaz.

The PML-N supremo believes that his party can take Pakistan out of the crisis that it is presently in.

“We are competent enough to solve the problems of the country,” said Nawaz Sharif while mentioning his government's achievements before when he was the prime minister.

“I am returning to Pakistan after being vindicated with the grace of Almighty Allah,” he maintained.

Responding to a question related to the general elections, Nawaz put his weight behind the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

“Only the Election Commission can make a better decision regarding the elections. What the Election Commission thinks is right is my preference on the elections,” said Nawaz.

He also said that a "fair" Election Commission is in place in the country.

I wrote to my MP and asked why NS was allowed to come to the UK. He didn't have an answer. Please do the same. We need to have sanctions imposed on each and every criminal that has stolen PK from its people. In America the PK community has made progress and many members of Congress have supported sanctions. We can do our bit.
