I always felt Ramiz Deep down is a softie. He carefully picks easy fights. He was very vocal against the re-entry of Mohd Amir, Mohd Asif, Salman Butt in Pakistan Cricket. He has been vocal against Sharjeel Khan being allowed re-entry in Pakistan Cricket and against Umar Akmal where he supported the 3 year life ban imposed on him.

But why is he now silent on the recent saga involving Salim Malik, Wasim Akram, Atta-ur Rehman? What is he scared off? Why is he adopting a different approach to the recent new players but staying clear of commenting against his buddies in the 90's? Is he scared because he knows Wasim Akram has a degree and level of influence in Pakistan Cricket and Society that the likes of Amir, Asif, Butt, Sharjeel, Umar Akmal don't have? Is he afraid of being black listed by his buddies in the 90's in social gatherings and events?

I have been waiting for him to say something on this topic involving his buddies in the 90's and just find his silence cowardly and hypocritical

This is the same guy who stayed mum in front of the Qayyum commission and commented that he did not remember when asked about matches and incidents.

Do you guys think he was also involved.

In my opinion to determine the result of a game rather than spot fix would require the majority of the team to have some sort of knowledge. You can’t rule anyone out with this bunch.

Spot Fixing and Match Fixing are equally bad. People really need to stop creating distinctions.

It just goes to show you that betting in Pakistan is accepted practice.

Bro humans are hypocrites, period. Not sure the need of singling out Rameez Raja here. He was not supposed to be some Messiah..

The reason why Rambo is being singled out is because of his so called zero tolerance, anti corruption stance. He is guilty of abetting the practice by choosing to fake ignorance on the deeds of his fellow buddies in the 90's

I think what people are forgetting here is that Ramiz has spoken out against convicted (rightly or wrongly) players. There’s no need to comment on every allegation made. Once there’s a conviction it’s okay to comment on it. If you’ve seen my previous posts on Ramiz you’ll know I think he’s the king of idiots but it really makes no sense to comment on someone accusing another player (again rightly or wrongly).

Exactly, he is so openly and explicitly hypocritical.

PCB should have banned the players long time ago,I know it would have weakened that team but in the long team they would have benefitted from that.

It's not silence but maturity as a professional. Please keep in mind unlike majoriry of ex Pakistani cricketers Rameez, actually plenty of work in his hand and is the voice of Pakistan in the commentary box wherever they go. He meets the absolute elite of cricketing fraternity day in day out when you're at that level and have professional connections as strong you cannot afford to poke your nose in dirty stuff like this.

At one point Rameez was also in PCB, what steps did he take to eliminate to match fixing. None. Also, in one of the episodes of Rashid Latif's show, Caught Behind, Rameez's came up. If I remember correctly, Rashid had a smirk on his face when Rameez's so called crusade against match fixing was mentioned.

I stand by this.

I find it irritating when players take a stance, but that stance is only for players who aren't their friends or former colleagues.

If you take a stance, at least make sure you are consistent with your views.

His commentary is pathetic.

I used to like him, but I saw his pic with Erin Holland and now he’s weird to me.

All he does now is come on his YT channel and praise Indians. Even on commentary he criticizes Pakistan way too much.

Not to forget his superfluous Twitter saga with Malik and Hafeez.

Pakistan cricket needs a new voice.

I remember a news anchor once asked Ramiz about his hypocricy and he made a lame excuse "The Qayyum inquiry was just an observatory inquiry and was not really intended to punish people", in another interview when asked the same question "Had i been in power as the PCB chairman at the time, i would have taken all the players named in the Qayyum report to task". Lol, the next day he was smiling, jolly, laughing at a PSL conference being the the PSL brand ambassador with Wasim Akram and Sethi.

I have pics of him openly celebrating and enjoying social niceties with his buddies in the 90's at Mushtaq Ahmed's Valima and Salim Malik's daughters wedding.

Since we are talking about Match fixing,

If you watch from 12:05, it clearly shows Sachin was the only person who was clean in the Indian team. My god my respect and love for him has gone up so much more, he truly was a 1 man show in the Indian team, all of the 90's it was practically Tendulkar vs the 11 players in the opposition..

A true fighter. Thank god Ganguly cleaned India up, I wish we had someone who could have done the same

I'm still disappointed Ramiz played as much as he did. His record both internationally and domestically was below average.

Ramiz has had his finger in a lot of pies.

When you are trying to please everyone and keep everyone happy, you are going to get found out sooner or later.

So, the people here want Ramiz Raja to give some "Masala dar" interviews and statements against Wasim Akram :ua

We would like to show courage and show consistency. Not one rule for softies, easy targets and another for his more influential, legendary, bro buddies

Amir was convicted in a UK Court and done jail time, what evidance do you have against Wasim. I’m not denying he was dodge but I’ve never seen or heard anything to back up the claims apart from he said this she said that.

Rameez retired before this Commission came into effect.

No one sincerely went after Wasim. Heck i don't even think the Qayyum Commission examined his bank records, assets, wealth statements and examined his cricket and sponsorship contracts. If he had more declared assets, wealth in comparison to his legal income, that invites scrutiny. Only in Pakistan can a suspect be allowed to verbally threaten and intimidate a witness with proof and get away with a clean verdict.
