I firmly believe this series itself has nailed the fact that India is currently miles ahead of Pakistan. Look at the way these young Indian batsmen are approaching the game, it looks as if they are playing domestic cricket out there. The level of confidence and faith in their own ability seems envious for Pakistani fans.

The range of shots, execution, match awareness and technique these young Indian batsmen have shown is something even our so called senior batsmen should learn from.

Our senior batsmen would have scored 50s of 70 balls in such a series vs SRL and flexed it. Whereas these little known Indian batsmen seemed frustrated despite scoring more than a run a ball without breaking a sweat.

For anyone who didn't already know india are miles ahead of Pakistan has either been living under a rock for the past 10 years or have 0% cricket knowledge, i would be very surprised if people only came to this realization now after India vs SL.

And this is where the problem lies, people judge Pakistan and criticize like they are a top 3 team, Pakistan are a 5/6 team at best who very occasionally can pull of an upset, simple as that, the moment people realize this they will start to enjoy our cricket a lot more.

India were 193 for 7 in 2nd odi
India are 198 for 8 now.
Don't think that is an excellent performance against a weak sl attack. Tail enders are not batters. Pakistan's tail was brilliant in 2019 wc but it didn't matter much.
Truth be told sl are also playing with their B team missing Dickwella, Mendis, Gunathilaka, Mathews and Chandimal
No 100s by any indian in this series

Why is this a weak SL attack? They were always very dangerous at home plus many of these players are debutants and bound to make mistakes...

Sri Lanka has won 34 odis out of 111 after Sanga-Mahela's retirement. That's a winning percentage around 30%. Also Sri Lanka isn't playing their full strength team either. That just puts this thread into perspective and how good Sri Lanka have been lately. :inti

Have you watched the cricket?

We haven't crossed 300 once, on some of the worst, most batting favoured pitches I've seen in Sri Lanka against the weakest Sri Lanka batting side I have ever seen. Now a full strength India side I agree, better than Pakistan in LOI but not by a huge margin. The only true standout side is England.

Don't think you needed this series to establish this fact.

OP is comparing a South Asian side losing to England in England ... to a South Asian side winning against a bottom tier South Asian side in South Asia.

India is a stronger cricket team is a fact but not sure how a hard fought series between India B and Srilanka B proves that point.
If anything the indian bench did not look that impressive based on this series alone.

Of course India plays at a different level to Pak nowadays. We keep talking of upcoming players who when given a chance do nothing where as their team is full of so much talent that a third Indian eleven would hammer our top side. For this reason I am happy not to play India for the foreseeable future until we get ourselves sorted. We are still stuck in the 1990's unable to move forward.

They did only in the 1st game...

How many world tournaments have India won?

How many test series have India won in foreign conditions?

Performance against srilanka D doesn't count.

Not impressed much with India A team. maybe except Shaw to some extent.
