I don't want to see him in Pakistan colour again, I apologise Wahab for being so blunt but please stay away from this team.

We are doing much better without you.

Some shameful clowns are abusing him in the replies to this tweet as well. These pathetic people don't deserve the good moments either. It's just a game of cricket. No need to make personal attacks against someone like this

Seriously this guy always gives his 100 percent! Feel bad for him! But most of the fans whatever he does always abuse him.He is genuinly a very good guy.Hopefully he recovers soon.Waiting for you! Wahab the beast!!

No need to apologize man , you are a sportsman with good and bad days. Work hard and regain your mojo.

Poor guy. He must be feeling worse today after Pakistan's excellent bowling performing against SA.

Him being a big part of loss against India is always going to remain etched in Pakistani fans.

There was no need for an apology and people who attack him on a personal basis are no less than absolute morons of the lowest level. However, with that being said this should be the end for Wahab Riaz.

Thanks for the apology. Hopefully that's the last quote I have to hear from him in a long time.

wahab doesnt need to apologize

it should be mickey arthur and inzemam ul haq who got him into the team after dropping after first ODI

Those abusing him and his family members are Shameless Low Creatures.

Wahab is not Captain, Coach and CS of Pakistan Cricket Team. He does not select himself.

Abusing that too in Ramadan. Sharam kero Pakistanio.

Good that you realized.

We know you tried your best but had a bad day. It happens.

Stay motivated.

I feel bad for him. He always tried his best but really only turned up a handful of times in his career. His time is up, but no need to abuse him, and no need for an apology.

Well said, I don't deny Wahab's passion and effort he tried his best and it wasn't enough, I accept his apology but also do not want to see him play for the team again but thanks for all the good moments to him.

Why is he apologising?

You dont need to apologise Wahab. You tried your best and it didnt come off. If you are dropped, just take it in the right spirit and not take it personally. After all you have always wanted the good of the team. All the best.

Dont need an apology

Just for him to realise his performances have been shocking, amongst the worst in the world and that he has no business in the green shirt, should be limited to tests

He had to apologise unfortunately because the abuses weren't stopping. Very unfortunate.

It's only cricket, I had no anger in my heart although was disappointed. Never did I think to reach out to Wahab and send him abuses, those who did are beyond pathetic!

That wasn't his fault to be fair, the selection committee has to take the blame for that. Not his fault his skills are limited.

His lack of ability isn't his fault. He may be a poor bowler, but has always been passionate about representing Pakistan. People throwing abuses should feel ashamed.

i doubt the apology will stop abuses - if anything apologies like that only feed internet trolls

Brother, those who have some shame will realise and will stop. Cricket performances good or bad do not deserve abuses for loved ones of a player.

Abusing isn't justified in any position or situation. It is unethical.

you were just not good enough wahab. and haven't been since that watson spell. Consider retiring please.

Sympathy seeking and Brownie point scoring tactics by Wahab. He has played his match for Pakistan.

Wahab knows what he has done is beyond disappoint Pakistanis all over the world and yet some have the nerve to say, " it's just a game ".

This.

A cricketer should never apologise unless he does something illegal or breaks a rule.

Winning and losing is all part of the game. You will face criticism for bad performance

Fair dues he apologised, however he was not the sole reason for the loss. Never seen Hafeez, Shezad, or Akmals say sorry like this.

Pakistani players and their apologies. It puts fans in guilty situation. Tells you how much of pressure they put themselves in.
Its just a game, move on brother.

Wahab is one guy I'm sure will always give his best to the team and quite frankly, I'd rather lose with a selfless player like him instead of winning with selfish players like Hafeez and Shehzad. That being said however, I think Wahab Riaz should be dropped from playing ODI's and for good. That in no way means he should be dropped from the Test side tho, he is absolutely vital and crucial to the Test XI and has won has quite a few games in the past in the Test arena.

Good on Wahab...He is a good bloke, gives his best, but doesn't have the control nor variations needed at this level to trouble the batsmen consistently...People abusing him should be ashamed of themselves...

Absolutely horrible to abuse him by anyone.. that being said he is bowling horribly for quite sometime and deserve no place in the team.

Nothing personal against any individual but the performance was beyond pathetic and caused serious pain to millions

I feel bad for him. He always tried his best but really only turned up a handful of times in his career. His time is up, but no need to abuse him, and no need for an apology.

Exactly. Bad days happen and he just had a really bad one. Those abusing him are low lives though.

I realise Wahab is a Pakistani through-and-through but, surely even he can see what a terrible bowler he's been for the last few months... best thing for him to do is to retire from internationals and play domestic cricket for the foreseeable future.

There shouldn't be a spot for him in any up-and-coming series or tournaments. If there is then blame the selectors, coach and captain.

Feel sorry for him.

He generally does bowl his heart out and tries his best, but just doesn't have the skills and gets carted around.

Please retire and don't play for Pak again. I will accept your apology only under these conditions.

No worries Wahab, you are not the only reason we lost the game. It's a team sport. Hope you recover and can improve.

If all the players apologized then we wouldn't have a team left . You did your best under the circumstances I hope you recover soon and perform to your best abilities in the tests which is way more important for the betterment of Pakistan cricket atm.

This is why Pakistan cricket is so damn dramatic.

Why do we need some grand apology. In the end we need to stop caring about effort, about guys who "care" and instead about RESULTS. Apology or not it shouldn't have gotten to this point and it's a damn shame he was still selected and playing.

He should not bowl for Pakistan again IMO.

We may not like his bowling but must people abuse him?

The thing is, I don't get the point of this. If he's going to apologize for a match, he should be issuing these tweets regularly. He's been horrible for a while, and this tweet is disingenuous apologizing for one match as if this is the only time he's let the team down.

Where have his apologies been for every mediocre performance in the last 2 years?

No need, though staying away from team would be the best gift redemption you'd do!

I feel bad as he really tries hard but he's just lost it recently. I don't mind him for tests but I have a feeling this is it for him in ODI's, at least for the time being

This is ridiculous and he needs to remove it.

He had a bad day and has had a few bad days but there is no need to apologise.

It seems like he has achieved what he wanted to achieve with his tweet, i.e. sympathy votes.

Very clever like Pakistani politicians. First who asked for apology? If Wahab is really ashamed he should retire and stop ruining our cricket. We're already at the bottom because of sifaarshi players like him. He has been free loading with the team for past eight years without any performance and accountability. Now that his chances of re-selection are slim he's trying to gain sympathy through media theatrics. I hope this guy is forced to retire .

People shouldn't necessarily care what his intentions were for posting this tweet. No Athlete or his Family members should be verbally abused for whatever performances Wahab gives on the field.

We can all criticize him and push for his non selection in future but to hurl indecent foul expletives towards his loved ones is a terrible thing to do, I am not too sure how active you are w.r.t. to social networking however people were absolutely tearing into Wahab's personal life on Twitter which was extremely uncalled for. At the end of the day this is just a game my friend.

As I said earlier there was no need for an apology but having said Wahab should never don the green jersey again and this is purely in light of whatever he bought to the table thus, his current form, age, ceiling and other cricketing factors.

This matter should be closed now and we all should move on - especially Pakistan cricket.

In a pressure game like against India..captains relay on experienced players... Wahab has been playing for 6 to 7 years now... he hasn't improved and in the game against India, His performance let the entire bowling line up down... and we needed him really bad. Time to go on and work on other players..

It wasnt his mistake that he was selected. He is a professional and can have bad days as well. Although I would say that he is not suitable to 50 over cricket with the two new balls and his inability to bowl good lengths in the middle overs, while he can play tests as well as T20s (Ball starts to reverse earlier with only one ball) and he is decent at the death.

Poor from the fans, social media is full of trolls who got nothing better to do in their useless life than abuse others and get into online fights.. Losers..

He is a great individual but not good enough to be in the side and he needs to go.

Not being good enough is no reason to offer an apology. As long as you give your best , it's perfectly fine. It's selectors job to work out the team. Sportsmen shouldn't be apologizing for this.

People always slate Ahmad Shahzad because of his fascination with social media and selfies. This guy is one of those at the forefront of somehow being in the social media spotlight yet he produced one of the most disastrous bowling performances, even Sami couldnt bowl as bad as that without picking up the odd wicket here and there.

Wahab always gives 100% and plays with as much vigour, passion and loyalty to his country as much as anyone, so much so that he felt terrible for his performance against India and apologised. This apology should be commended as much as unexpected. I will always respect Wahab - an absolute warrior when at his best.
I can't think of one player in the history of this game that hasn't had a bad day.

For those that abused Wahab or his loved ones - it's a reflection of yourself unfortunately and you are the problem, not Wahab who bleeds green, wears his heart on his sleeve, and will do anything to better Pakistan.

Rest assured anyone like that on PP will be banned.

Mickey if you are reading this, please accept the apology and give Wahab one more chance on 18th. ONE LAST CHANCE Please. :( :59:

Quite right, I am sure he tried his best. As I have said many times, as a person I like him the best among Pakistani players. However, just his speed at this point isn't enough and he can't be on the team.

If you call these people clowns,it is least said. These people are real stupid, uncivilized. When a person apologize,he should receive soft response.Wahab is not good enough for Pakistan cricket team and i believe that there are better bowler than him in Pakistan's domestic. It is not ideal to tell it harshly under his apology Twitter, let's discuss it in another place. He always tries hard, but he is simply not good enough. To pick him again and again is the selectors fault, not Wahab's.

Should play the final, we need his aggression. His impeccable lines while bowling will make it hard for the indians to score, will take 7 wickets.
