In my opinion, it goes upto 2-3 years back.
We have invested in players which weren't selected. And at the last moment, players were brought in out of no where. That's not how a world Cup squad is made. This is a text book example of how NOT to prepare for a tournament.
We survived because Rohit was always clicking. Even Kohli was failing. It was bound to happened sooner or later. It was evident in the game against Afghanistan or even Bangladesh.
I hope, Shankar, Yadav, karthik are kicked out.
Rahul needs to go back to domestic.
Dhoni, it's time to retire.
You were one of them lol
The middle order was never tested before the big stage. It's an issue that's being pointed out for years now. Didn't expect much from Kohli and Rohit in the Knockouts anyway, maybe a bit more from Rohit but Kohli adds another feature to his cap of being the biggest choker of all time. But hey, please remind me again of his average of 434354233 in all the high pressure bilateral series he has played over the years. What a legend.
I was one of what?
Lol Because of our middle order we came this close to winning.
What has our top order (barring Rohit) done ?
Softi 50s ?
Get those two kids in, dhoni should go.
Yup..Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill..no idea why they were not in squad
You gave the answer yourself. Middle order only gets us close to winning. But top order wins us the games.
Criticised Jadeja and Ashwin after CT.
And overrated Kuldeep and Chahal.
because they didnt have as good IPL? in Shaw case its more understandable as India had the openers/
Strange - people who claim to be Pakistanis are freely outlining how other teams can improve. Please share your true allegiances with us.
I can think of no other reason
Did you really expect Dhenier to chase it down? The only reason India got close today was because of Jadeja.
Had Jadeja been playing that day I would have accepted your sentiment.
Indias bowling is killer but I think their batting was made to look better this tournament through dropped catches and advantage of batting first.
Not to take anything away from them but I think they could have been exposed earlier and known of these issues.
They weren't as good as we thought. They batted with weak intent in the England game, and again here. I didn't go along with those who thought they would throw the England game to spite Pakistan, but they certainly batted like it. But perhaps they just aren't as good as the hype.
I am sorry but did we win the match ?
1. Poor team selection (Dhoni, DK, Jadhav, etc)
2. Overhyped cricketers (Rahul, Pandya, and Kuldeep)
3. Virat Kohli's bottling in tournament knockouts
4. Dhawan's absence
Babar in knockouts so far :
38* in a successful chase against England (CT 2017 semi final)
45 vs India (CT 2017 final)
69 vs SA (2019 world cup virtual knockout)
101* in a successful chase on a rank turner vs NZ (2019 world cup virtual knock out)
45 vs AFG in a successful run chase (2019 world cup virtual knock out).
The win against NZ did not count since it was on a sluggish pitch.
does the one against AFG count?

All I know K@rma is a b!tch, they deliberately didnt try hard enough to beat England earlier and it came back to bite them in their back...
No.
Although both India and Pakistan took it to the last over, Pakistan was deservingly humiliated for some reason.
So what karma was biting the Pakistani team's rear end when they did not even qualify for the semis? Must have been a big one eh?

The meek mouse has shown more grit than the noisy lion.
I guess then we should brush aside the SA win as well because surely that was a fluke.
that 45 vs AFG was probably the most difficult runs he made ... it was such a difficult pitch and Afg spinners were bowling probably the best they ever had... the way he man-handeled Rashid was a beauty to watch .... nd that too with a hamstring problem ...
Babar is a class apart... he needs those muscles to get his game just a bit above Root, who now i think is no4 on the top 4 list .... that in ODI .. in tests he needs a lot of work ...
his innings in CT were not much to talk abt .. all under limited pressure situations.. the damages had been done before he walked in but you can say his calmness helped wrap up the games but they aint the ones to remember
He has been failing in big occasions since 2014. I have posted this many a times in the forum before and now it has come to haunt us on not so difficult pitch to chase 240, massive disappointmentKohli has failed big time in this tournament. All he did was to score softie 50 when half the work was done by Rohit.
I agree with you. But I am just mentioning the numbers which seem better than some of the great bastmen of the world including Kohli.
Aus chased the small score on the last ball of the match how did we lose on purpose?
we lost that on purpose.
I watched that whole match, the body language and the way they were all behaving was quite evident.
Infact, even a tie met that Australia would go through and India would be out.
Pakistan only got serious in that match on the last ball, after the scores were tied
Without Dhoni guidance, Jadeja would never have scored these runs
Some fans may not get it but India are the semifinalists and group stage toppers.
Some posters are posting as if India got kicked out before the knockouts.
Investing 2-3 years in players like Shankar DK Jadhav Rahane instead of Mayank Pant Ishan Shaw would have paid better dividends.
That bloke doesn't know anything, bro!!Criticised Jadeja and Ashwin after CT.

Jadeja + ashwin >>>> kuldeep + chahal
Why the need for 3 wicket-keepers?
The batting was heavily reliant on Sharma and Kohli and if they failed, most of the rest weren't going to show up and that proved correct today.
Well this is what happens when Flat track bullies have to play swing and seam.
I think Pakistan would have easily beaten India on this pitch as well, had they qualified.
Flat Tracks and Roads have made some batsman look better than they are.
