The worst fielder in international cricket?

its a torture to see some guys (mis)field every single game. Not only does it give away precious runs but it also demoralises the whole team.

So Who do you think is the worst of the lot?

Pakistani fielders like sohail tanvir do provide us with hair pulling stuff every now n then but For me the worst fielder is None other than south africa's Lonwabo Tsotsobe. What a poor fielder this guy is! Watching him in the field is an embarrasement. There is not a single match where he doesnt leak runs due to his poor fielding. Couple this with the catches he drops and there you have it, the worst fielder in the world.

Tsotsobe is pure garbage in the field. He should not be picked if he can't field because its always been something we've prided ourselves on. He's on par with some of the worst Asian fielders IMO.

Well in spite of him being considered a mere trundler by the masses, he does a reasonable job for SA in limited overs and besides, Steyn and Philander don't play much limited overs cricket and Morkel has his off days. The likes of Morris and Kleinveldt haven't really impressed either so I guess you have to stick with him for a while.

My money, if I had to choose from the current Indian team would be - ashwin and pujara
Pakistan - nasir jamshed (kamran akmal is another level altogether - everytime he catches a ball, there should be celebrations)

Neither is he 7'1, Tsotsobe is crap because he is a lazy trundler Irfan on other hand just doesn't have the contributes to be a good fielder. Irfan is a very hard worker and it has showed in his bowling over the past 12 months however fielding is just very difficult for him and always will be.

You keep Tsotsobe and we will keep Irfan.

Irfan is 7.1 ,u expect him to be slow. But does he drop catches , sitters like tsotsobe? Has jamshed ever dropped a catch ? These guys are just slow in the field. They dont even misfield usually. I know being quick is important while fielding but its not more important than holding on to catches. Tsotsobe drops such easy catches that i feel embarassed on his behalf. Did u watch yesterday's t20, he showed his level of awfulness yesterday. He is a more consistant misfielder than tanvir and thats saying something.

The Indian team is filled with quality fielders, while Pakistan and Sri Lanka have some good fielders as well. Your posts are nothing but biased garbage these days.
