Wonder how history will judge the winners and losers? Are the people of both countries able to stomach defeat without forever associating players with "that" game on 18th June, 2017?

We saw that with Chetan Sharma and Misbah but have we actually become more mature now?

Pakistan will always be heroes because the reached the finals against all odds

They crushed England in a spectacular way to reach the finals

They applied so much pressure on South Africa forcing the Africans to 'self choke'

To me the Pakistani team are already heroes regardless of the outcome of the final.

Pakistan's villains would predictably be the seniors who have played cricket for a decade and a half and still freeze when under pressure.

yes but question is have we as an audience matured enough to remember this as just one game and move on?

Even if Pakistan decimate all other oppositions but lose to India, the fans will go berserk. Winning vs India has far more importance than demolishing the rest of the world.

I already have my villains no matter what happens on Sunday. Enemies from within, who have been weakening the wall of the city since years.

I will forgive each and everyone of the youngsters.

Fakhar, Shadab, Raees, Faheem and Hasan Ali. Baber Azam only half heartedly, since he is a regular in the team in do expect him to take some responsibility. Regarding Amir, if he plays I expect him to step up too. If he doesn't do his mean job ie take wickets I will be disappointed from him and for the future won't mind looking for alternatives.

The way Hasan Ali has performed after the initial game has already made me easily forget his drop of Yuvraj. He can go for 100 runs with no wickets and he would still find a friend in me.

Fakhar, is a brave man who has done more than one could have asked of him. Debuting in the second match of the tournament, which was practically a knockout match for us and carrying the whole burden of our batting line ever since. It's almost as if we as a batting unit are shamelessly taking advantage of him.

He isnt an army men anymore but I won't hesitate to give this young man a salute.

Shadab I feel has been called in too early for such a big stage, he had what only WI tours before this. Hence it would be over the top to hang him if he fails.

this applies for newcomers, not guys who have a track record of failing when the stakes are high. they deserve no sympathy.

With moving on, do you mean we forget about the failure of the seniors and look forward to them performing in the battlefields of UAE against the giants of Zimbabwe?

Or do you mean we drop the seniors and move on from them?

And with an matured audience, do you mean we are so used to the seniors failing when ever it mattered or do you mean mature as in rational and level headed fans?

Look the moment the senior players left the team and go on to pursuit other careers in their life I'd more than happy to wish them all the best and even accept their invitation for a coffee.

But even after their countless failures, poor showing at CT and the inspiring way how unfamiliar youngster stepped up and took the charge, they still find it appropriate to leech on to the team for years to come I won't even bother to shake their hands! That's how disgusted I would be.

They should get one or to be generous two series after the CT at the very max and respectfully shown the door.

We can't be having our youngsters debuting in high pressure games at the big stage forever.

I really have a gut feeling that Muhammad Amir's inclusion is gonna be a very bad mistake esp when you have Rumman Raees available

i wont forgive this guy if he takes anything less than 2 wickets in crucial stages and not tail ender, and has an economy of 5 or below or unable to do death bowling and be economical

if this guy messes up, straight away will blame azhar mehmood for his inclusion

regarding inclusion of faheem ashraf, would have tolerated him if rumman was there, now since rumman is not he is being replaced with shadab, so expect him to take wickets which i dont think he would, if he doesnt, would be one of the culprits, he should better justify his inclusion with the bat otherwise would not forgive who ever included him as well

The amount of goodwill the PCT has received worldwide for reaching the CT final, if they end up winning it, itll instill immense self believe in this young team and I truly believe this will be the revival of Pakistan Cricket, imo most of the credit goes to Mickey and Azhar, the bowling plans have been impeccable, just need to get rid of the dead weight and we'll be in the Top 5 in no time.

next is imad, he should also jusfiy with wickets and economy otherwise should never be selected again in ODIs

and the three dead weight seniors, malik, hafeez and azhar if they dont perform, i would blame inzemam ul haq for their selection and messing up the team

if Hafeez still plays like a chicken tomorrow then he should be dropped forever. No need of timid players in the team. Azhar has an important game also.

In my opinion both should be replaced with Amin,Umar,Harris post CT.

What I mean is that we wont go around burning homes or discard any other good performances some of these players put in the future.

I can only talk about myself. I don't plan on running through the the neighborhood throwing around moltovs. I hope the fans in Pakistan behave well too. Especially considering it's Ramadan and the team as whole unit has done well in the CT.

But I surely won't be clapping for hafeez next soft 50 against low ranked team. Only an extraordinary match winning thriller would earn him some applause.

Senior have lost all of my sympathy and I am unable to tolerate them any longer after the CT.

I really hope they were selected for CT as a litmus test to see if they are worth pressisting with. In my view they have pretty much failed the test.

Pakistan now stands infront of a forked road:

1. Win and confirm Azhar Ali's and Muhammad Hafeez's continued selection for the next year or two

2. Lose and get rid of all the excess fat that is hampering our progress

Potential Villians for India : Pandya, Dhoni, Yuvraj . The top 3 are too accomplished to be tainted by a loss tomorrow. The bowlers are not gonna take that much flak. Yuvi already has 2014 around his neck, Dhoni too has his shortcomings. Pandya, well we all love to S#it on him !

 no forked road here. It's all about winning. This is a final against India. Win or lose, IA Hafeez and Azhar will go after this tournament

Azhar hafeez and malak saab have to go they have done nothing in the tournament debutant fakhar has been much better than these guys. These are already villains in my eyes.

I remember Malik saying he wants to play till WC19 at that time I didn't give his statement much thought.

But now I'd say Mr Malik you don't deserve to play till WC19. Playing in the pak team is a privilege and not a right. You have to justify your selection each tour. And you don't. Retire gracefully as you retired from the Test format.

As an Indian I would not take defeat too hard. We have won most of the last ten games played, so we are due for a defeat sometime. Hope it is not tomorrow, but it could happen.

You do know Pandya is one of the best allrounders in the world? The guy can hit from ball one and hit high scores as well grabbing vital wickets alongside his electric fielding. A world class talent he is.

Rohit fails in finals more often than not. I won't call him a villain though if he doesn't show up. Law of averages may catch up one of the two openers.

Thats what they said about $tokes too. The result was a tuk tuk boundary-less innings and 38 off his 3.1 overs.

Best alrounder

:salute

I'm telling you I see something special in this boy, he's got all the ingredients to become a leading superstar in LOI's. But then again that's just a prediction and could fall off, on the back of my mind he's a right-handed poor mans Irfan Pathan. Hope we neutralise him tomorrow and grab the cup.

Hafeez and Azhar should dropped regardless.

Prediction: Hafeez will run out Fakhar or Babar, then get out cheaply. Azhar will score a meaningless, meandering 50 something runs, compelling his continued inclusion in future series as an experienced hand.

I

They will be all heroes unless we see a repeat of 1999 WC final

True!

There are a lot of kids around who just get too emotional for some of them but not others.

True, what players do tomorrow would get associated with them for their entire lives

Like Misbah and 2007 WT20 Final and Mohali SF.

Like Ajay Jadeja and Waqar massacre
