One last time. The journey's been good, having followed Misbah's career for last seven years. My all time favourite batsman.
It's kind of difficult to describe my emotions right now. I'm sad that he's going but at the same time I realize that at least the great man won't be disrespected anymore as much and he won't have to listen to the taunts from others.
As for Younis, yes I've disrespected him a lot. A Lot of times whenever he would come to the crease I would hope that he fails. There's no denying that Younis is arguably Pakistan's greatest Test batsman. I was just angry since Younis loved throwing tantrums and then his fans afterwards would love to portray him as a team man. I have no hesitance accepting my mistakes.
However, It's time to let bygones be bygones. I'm hoping that both of the legends sign off with centuries.

Thank you Misbah. For all the criticisms he has faced, can't deny that he has been a tremendous leader in test cricket for the last 7 years. Not aesthetically pleasing but definitely effective! Hope he can help improve Pakistan cricket off the field as well.

Actually I was born in Islami Jamhuriya e Pakistan. Lived there for 20 Odd years and I am going back to my motherland soon. So I have a different type of affiliation with my Soil.

A big part of Pakistan cricket has died with the departure of these two legends, can't thank them enough for their contributions and apologise for all the lack of support and love from disgraceful fans who never appreciated them. But their legacy's have been cemented among the all time greats and the world recognised their feats which is what matters in the end. #ThankYou #LordMisbah #KingKhan

Too many haters here and lovers here, everyone has picked players they hate and players they love blindly. Rubbish fans in my opinion.
Man up and show real patriotism. They both are legends of Pakistan. Both have days when they really irritate you but have given happiness to many on their days as well. Wish them good luck to lives after international cricket.

Emotions got hold of me unfortunately. Sorry to Ppers but most comments I read in those 2 hours were anti Misbah and anti Younis. Some very harsh. Anyhow there will be millions supporters aswell. Majority on their side ? Well I don’t think so.
We had a terrible World Cup. We got knocked out badly. It was embarassing. But still I did not forget Inzamam ul Haq's services for Pakistan Cricket. When he got out there were tears in the eyes of a school boy. I may be wrong but one should not ignore overall services/performances. Hope we win this.

I totally agree wish more were like you, I've been dealing with such posters for a while now so it has become the norm for me. I expected civil behaviour at least during this time but not much else to say about that unfortunately.

This is only here that some posters have shown this hatred overall the guys I know they all are pretty sad that it won't be a good thing for our team.. we need them and they've been our heroes and both of them are equally going to be missed badly..

Yes that is the right in a way but some of these are under 20 boys and there opinions are like See-Saw at the moment plus they have followed, played & read thw game much less than Us. Most importantly there opinion is not firm. Another thing is that it's a nature, some people are blind lovers and some are blind haters. So they will hate blindly or love blindly and bias will over power all.
So in case of young brothers & sisters we should give them some margin. We were also at that stage once upon a time and there was no forum

But in the last five years, they have played 14 Tests together outside Asia batting at Number 4 and Number 5.
They have failed to make a single 100 partnership in those 28 innings across 4 years and 4 months, and I can't remember any 50 partnerships either, although there may have been one or two small ones.
That tells me that they went on far too long. We should not airbrush that out of history.

Younis though will be missed because he was a match winner that will be almost impossible to replace.

It's not like England flopping at every football World Cup every time and making themselves look like the biggest circus clowns on Earth and an absolute embarrassment to our nation, that's something we should not airbrush out of history rather then repeatedly reminding ourselves of that fluke triumph in 1966. On the other hand Khan/Misbah's positive contributions to Pakistan cricket overall far out weigh all the superficial criticisms people have.

Ed Joyce was bowled by Asif leaving a delivery, what a talent he was really enjoyed that moment; am lucky to have seen big inzi, moyo and khan (top scored) bat together; was a bacha then so didn't appreciate the moment as much as I should have but always got confused by the crazy support for Afridi because as he walked out to bat and you went to the loo, he'd be walking back to the pavilion when you returnedDid you go to the game in 06 I think where Saj Mahmood won man of the match against Pakistan and everyone was very angry
Nah, didn't go to that game but I did skip my first day of work at a new job to go to Day 4 of this test because I wanted to watch Asif bowl.

Neither Misbah nor Younis played for Pakistan in the 90's but yeah, this is the end of an era for sure.

I understand that, both of them debuted in the year 2000 however, their careers intertwined with the latter part of the 90s Titans who were having their final hurrahs and will always be my heroes. That is why the retiring of these two blokes marks it the official ending of the boys who I literally saw growing up in that era.
As for Misbah and Younis, I wish them all the best in the up coming endeavors and hope they have successful flourishing careers in which ever walk of life they might choose for themselves.
Younis will be happy going out on his boat and fishing all day with the lads. It'll be a relief for him to be away from all the PCB interference and dressing room politics.
Misbah is different though, he's absolutely OBSESSED with cricket. I feel like no matter what he does he'll end up involved with it again somehow, whether it's as a commentator, coach, administrator or what I don't know.

At least in tests, but in ODIs, Malik and Hafeez are still there. Umar Gul and Sami return every now and then.

Would be a fitting and a well deserved farewell to two champions of the game if Pakistan can pull it off and create some history. Been exceptional ambassadors to both Pakistan cricket and the game in general. All the best.
