Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Mar 25 (ANI): Union Minister Uma Bharti launched a scathing attack on the Congress, saying that those who wanted to lecture on secularism should go to Pakistan.

"During 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi had made development as an agenda. Previously, no such agenda was made. If you hear their speeches, they always say we are communal. When we talk of nationalism or chant Lord Ram or 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', they call us communal. They do not mention anything about Ram and 'roti' (food). They can only talk about secularism vs communalism," she said at a 'Vijay Sankalp Sabha' here on Sunday.

Bharti added, "India is the only country where we follow secularism. No need for anyone to tell us what is secularism all about. If you want to remind us or lecture on secularism, then go to Pakistan."

To press her point, Bharti, who was recently appointed as BJP's national vice president, recalled that she paid visits to Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai.

"Recently, I went to Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Haji Ali Dargah to offer my prayers. We respect all Gods. There is no need for us to be lectured on secularism," she said.

Asserting that the BJP government changed the face of Uttar Pradesh after coming to power in 2017, Bharti accused the previous SP and BSP governments of neglecting the lower class people.

In December last year, Bharti had announced to take a break from active politics to focus on the issue of Ram temple and cleaning of Ganga river. She had also announced that she would not contest the impending Lok Sabha polls, slated to be held in seven phases beginning from April 11 to May 19.

Talking about the Gurugram mob attack case, the Union Minister said that strict action will be taken against those behind the incident. The case pertains to the members of a family being allegedly thrashed with sticks and swords by goons for playing cricket on Holi in Bhondsi area of Haryana.

A video of the incident, which surfaced on social media, purportedly showed a group of men attacking the family’s male members with sticks, even as the women pleaded to them to stop.

Darwin's theory of selective breeding has failed in her case.

Pakistan is not a dustbin where Sanghis can dump anyone they dislike.

Standard operating procedure of kaccha dharis.

No wonder she is one of the senior most members of Bharat Jalao Party.

Think such people should be allowed to form a cross India-Pakistan party with like-minded people...

We don't want your unwanted people. India take our unwanted people instead of always telling yours to "go to Pakistan". Beatings of your minorities is online for everyone to see.

Pakistan too has excess population, what makes Sanghis think they will accept more people? I have heard this lady give many stupid statements in the past, single digit IQ just like many of her party members.

What're the predictions for the elections? Or is it a coin toss?

Most likely no party will get clear majority and will need allies to form govt.

BJP is the front runner perception wise but Congress with alliances are a formidable foe.

If you break things down state by state, numbers don't point to BJP being the front runner but for national elections, Modi is still a big factor and can swing votes.

There is a wave of hidden anger which might...help Congress big time.

Rahul is winning hearts slowly and steadily no matter how much BJP would like us to believe he is a dumb *****.

In summary: it's a coin toss.

General elections are super hard to predict.

People thought BJP would get second term in 2004. They lost.

People thought BJP might win in 2009. Congress came back with even better margins.

In 2014, Congress discredited Modi wave and was routed. People knew Congress will likely lose but no one expected that level of drubbing.

Lets see what's in store for 2019.

I see. Didn't BJP win a clear majority since the 70'sin 2014? Hard to believe they won't sweep again. What about UP? Iirc it's the most important state in terms seats, right?

I love it when they keep winning elections. :91:

BJP got their first clear majority in 2014. Yes.

They won't sweep cos they just lost 3 state elections to Congress in the Hindi heartland (Mp, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan).

Uttar Pradesh results wildly oscillate from election to election.

There is SP and BSP (2 powerful regional parties, then BJP (very powerful in UP) and Congress (has lost its power in UP).

SP and BSP have joined forces together this time. They did it for 2 or 3 by-election seats and routed BJP. So this time BJP has its task cut out.

BJP politicians should become ambassadors for Pakistan tourism
