Three fights in nine seconds of an ice hockey game – is USA-Canada the dirtiest rivalry in sports now?

i find it hilarious that they just fight, but kinda wait till the helmets fly off cos otw your only gonna break your hand. its like the most organised one on one brawls ever, love to see it.

Ice hockey is like that. Lots of physical fights. Fight is legal in ice hockey. No penalty.

Ice hockey is the #1 popular sport in Canada. So, lots of emotions are involved. It is like cricket in subcontinent.

Don’t they have to sit out after the fight?

Unique among North American professional team sports, the National Hockey League (NHL) and most minor professional leagues in North America do not eject players outright for fighting (although they may do so for more flagrant violations as part of a fight) but major European and collegiate hockey leagues do, and multi-game suspensions may be added on top of the ejection. Therefore, the vast majority of fights occur in the NHL and other North American professional leagues.

USA win men's Olympic ice hockey gold for first time in 46 years

The United States won the men's Olympic ice hockey gold medal for the first time in 46 years by beating neighbours Canada 2-1 in a sensational conclusion to the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The final gold medal of the Games was sealed by Jack Hughes in overtime after the USA withstood pressure from the dominant Canadians throughout most of the match, goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck having the game of his life.

It is the first time since the 'Miracle on Ice' at Lake Placid in 1980 that the USA's men have won Olympic gold.

And it is the first time the Americans have won the competition outside of their home country.

This was the second ice hockey final between USA and Canada at Milan-Cortina 2026, after the American women triumphed in their gold medal match - also 2-1 in overtime.

Always loved Canada’s hockey team. Still remember the 1994 Olympics final here in Lillehammer, Norway. Canada lost to Sweden after shootout, star players like Forsberg, Kariya and Petr Nedved played in the finals.

My all time favourite player is the original no. 88 Eric Lindros.

Anyways no country is close to Norway oin wintersports. 18 gold medals in current Olympics and USA on second place has 12 gold medals. We keep dominating this!

Pakistan India rivalry would descend to this level of madness if it was allowed lol… we play “the gentleman’s game”

Fights in hockey are the norm.

Otherwise Shaheen would have Suryakumar in a triangle choke.
