Thumbs up for Pakistani media

I have been watching both Indian channels and Pakistani channels since the Pulwama attacks and also today.

But honestly the only thing I have seen on indian channels are hatred for Pakistan, calls for war with Pakistan, and if someone tried to talk sense he has been stamped as anti-national.

Worst of all them are the women anchors, they are more war-hungry than even the males. I am sure they even don’t dare to go to the kitchen at night if the lights are off, and there they sit in studio and scream for attack.

On the other hand, pakistani media has been pure class. Of course some have replied in same way, but only a couple of channels have done that. I have been positively surprised by their reporting. No screaming for war. Even now after Indian attack they are measured. Everyone expects a reply but you can talk about that in a civil way and they are doing that so well done.

(PS! I know our channels very well and some media houses have their agenda but that is for another discussion)

Speaking of media, western media has eaten up Indian version of strikes. Just listened to PBS news hour while driving home from work here in US. First the anchor narrated Indians claim and didn't even bother with Pakistani version. They then brought in Indian origin Professor who wasn't as vitriolic against Pakistan but proceeded to parrot Indian version of history from 1947 on. Disappointed to see no consideration of Pakistani stance and even more disappointed with diplomats US not going on media offensive in US.

To India and it's people anything that doesn't suit them is fake. What is true to them is the 350 invisible people they killed. The dominant right wing Indian media treats such things as entertainment needlessly blowing the the entire situation for their naive and nationalistic audience. In their programmes even Indian people fight with each other like no ones business. Pak video is much more calmer and mature by comparison.

Everything Indian media has said has pretty much been a lie. Pak media for the vast majority have done a decent job of speaking the truth and looking at facts rather than making drama but I guess India has a bollywood mentality.

i dont know how anyone, including indians, can watch the indian news media, it is horrible. in pakistan you have some variance, some channels are bad, others are more civilised. Indian news media is consistently appalling, in content and presentation.

i dont know how anyone, including indians, can watch the indian news media, it is horrible. in pakistan you have some variance, some channels are bad, others are more civilised. Indian news media is consistently appalling, in content and presentation.

I agree 100% with this observation. Your Pakistani media is so much better than India's. Cringeworthy freakin channels in India. During the world cup there were so called newscasters in cricket jerseys and pads with bats in hand. One look and you could tell that the person had never played gully cricket, let alone wear a full cricket kit.

Won't even go to the topic of border skirmish coverage. Then it is full blown war hysteria by the Indian media. Extremely embarrassing to see some scrawny civilians put on full military attire (military camouflage and some toy gun). One glance at the guy slouching around in that military gear. Felt like throwing the remote at the TV screen.

The problem is that the India media seems to be on a downward trajectory. Shudder to imagine what they would do in five years or ten.
