The arguments are as follow

- by paying we support the beggar controlling mafia
- they may be controlled by someone else but they still get a share of what they earn
- there are genuinely poor people mixed in between

When i went to Pakistan, i hesitated to pay to beggars but bought from most street vendors who were trying to earn their living whether i needed their product or not. Also didn't negotiate (or ask for change) with small scale businesses as extra bit of cash helps them to feed their family.

I'd simply ignore them. Too many of them are frauds etc., better thing you can do is donate to the charities if you're feeling too generous.

No I don't trust them at all. Better to give some money to charity who will know exactly where the real need is.
