depends if the mentioned economy are for long route or in town.

Also, the taxes and duties on these cars are soo high that the person who ends up buying these cares, is probably rich and doesn't care about fuel efficiency.

A middle class man can't even afford a mehran that easily, the above mentioned cars are way off.

Had a mehran for 6 years in Karachi. Wipes the floor with Corolla and Civic :shafiq2

My familia had Mehran's older siblings the Cultus and Baleno.

Ap ka bhai raaton mein hawaa ke ghoray pe hota tha :afridi

Which brands are the most used in Pakistan ? Do you folks have own and popular brands like Tata, Maruti, mahindra, ashok leyland.

Nope we donot have our own makers. Though we do assemble toyota and mehran in Pakistan.

Mehran is most used as its the most cheapest car in pakistan. It costs 8 lakh ruppees, but has no airbags, no abs brakes, and starts having issues with spare parts soon after 15-20 k

Toyota is everyones favourite here. Its the only car that suits the pakistani roads. The cars are high from bottom so when they hit the high jumps and man holes less damage is done.
Carolla is known as khotttaa garee as it could survive big man holes without being damaged.

But due to its high demand carolla and mehran get stolen alot.

Honda is a high selling car, but toyota is ahead of it.

Japanese imported cars are famous here, people prefer those cars instead of mehran, difference between both cars in 2 lakh.

A japanesse car could cost 10lakh with proper airbags and abs brakes, while a mehran costs 8 lakh and its sun blocking shade above passenger seat is made of cardboard.

The real price of japanese car is 2lakh, but due to taxes duties and cargo the price goes upto 12 lakh

Oh! So Japanese car makers rule the roost in Pakistan.

10 L PKR is around 6.2 L INR for which you will get -

Maruti Swift, Ritz, Waganor, Baleno, indica, indigo
Tata tiago, indigo, zest, bolt
Mahindra Thar, bolero, kuv, e2o

All of these have good and modern security measures. Cross trade would have benefited both nations

This thing sells for PKR 8 Lakhs? Unbelievable.

Pak Suzuki's monopoly is starting to end. Their profits in 2016 went down by 53% to Rs. 2.8 billion. In 2015 their profits were in excess of Rs. 5 billion and they were paying Rs. 15 dividend on each share.

The end to the monopoly is primarily due to the import of German cars in the market and the plans by several foreign (non-Japanese) manufacturers to enter the market.

Are the newer imports cheaper than this outrageous cost?

its massively overpriced.

THe piece of junk has nothing it for safety of passengers.

Japanese cars are sold at 2000 Dollars in Japan which is about 2 lakh in Pakistan, but due to imports and all they cost at about 12lakh here.

Plus the only drawback of japanese cars in Pakistan are that its not 0 meter, they have been driven then sold here. When the car reaches Karachi port, half of its genuine items are taken out of the car due to corrupt officials, and its meter is reversed back to 5000-10000

But in response they have introduced a very good looking Cultus. THe new Cultus has been remodelled into Suzuki Celerio, but the problem is that even this car is priced 1250000.

I dont understand why they price Pakistani assembled cars above 10 lakh.

Toyota Aqua is 16 lakhs? My word that is expensive for a car that size.
