Two Australian players were "touched inappropriately" by a motorcyclist in Indore, where they are due to play South Africa in their final league game of the Women's World Cup on Saturday. The incident occurred while the players were walking to a cafe on Thursday, the morning after Australia's victory against England in Indore.

"CA can confirm two members of the Australian Women's team were approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe in Indore," Cricket Australia said in a statement. "The matter was reported by team security to police, who are handling the matter."

According to news reports a suspect has been arrested by the Indore police.

Australia are presently on top of the World Cup points table but need a victory to secure their position. If they finish No. 1, they will play India in the second semi-final on October 30 in Navi Mumbai, while South Africa will travel to Guwahati to play England in the first semi-final on October 29.

If Australia lose, then they finish second and will play England in the first semi-final, while South Africa will end on top of the points table and play India in the second semi-final.

I'm speaking from my own experience but I remember walking down the streets of Brighton in 2019 back when I was in UK.

Loads and loads of streets with zero cctv but too many people.

India has seen a surprising increase of CCTVs in cities over the last few years. I assume the players would have been walking around the more developed parts of town. And if there aren't government-installed cameras, many shops have them.

Fair enough. Reports suggest they've already been arrested.

But I was speaking from personal experience. Sydney, London, and many of the other areas ive been to, they lack cctv's in areas that they should be lodged.

I hope and pray that one day Australia, Canada and other countries tighten their immigration policies even further.

As much I hate trump, I'm glad he forwarded the 100,000 USD rule for Immigration.

But sadly Indians cam still exploit the Tn Visa or E3 visa route if they live in Can or Aus.

Im sure my brother @sweep_shot has witnessed this, cause I defo have.

But genuinely Indians shouldn't be allowed to Immigrate. They are uncultured.

Why do you think Canada and Australia and even USA pre trump tightened its immigration policies in the first place?

Nowadays for Aussie immigrants they've added tighter restrictions. You literally cant immigrate to any province through the points system excluding Victoria and South Australia which wasnt the case 10 years ago. Not to mention their stupid Naati rules that theyve added.

Similarly why do you think Canada increased their points from 300 to over 550-600 nowadays? Who's responsible for turning Canada into Mini India?

Two members of the Australia Women's cricket team were allegedly harassed by a motorcyclist in Indore on Thursday morning.
As per a report by the Press Trust of India, the incident took place when the players were walking to a cafe near their team hotel, two days out from their World Cup game against South Africa. According to the police, the motorcyclist followed them and touched one of the players inappropriately before riding away.
The duo contacted their team security officer, Danny Simmons, who coordinated with local security liaison officers and dispatched a vehicle for assistance. A bystander noted the vehicle number, helping police trace and arrest the accused. He has been booked under sections 74 (use of criminal force to outrage a woman's modesty) and 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Cricket Australia issued a statement confirming the development: "CA can confirm two members of the Australian Women's team were approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe in Indore. The matter was reported by team security to police, who are handling the matter."
As per the PTI report, Assistant Commissioner of Police Himani Mishra met the players following the incident in the Khajrana Road area and recorded their statements.
It has turned out that Cricket Australia (CA) or the Australian team management did not report it to ICC. "They breached the protocols by allowing players to go out for solo runs in the city. The ICC, along with the BCCI, have ensured police arrest," a spokesman for the ICC said.
The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has reacted to the incident. "An unfortunate incident has come to our notice. A couple of Australian players were subjected to inappropriate behavior by a miscreant. We have reported it to the police and the authorities have tracked down the culprit. We're cooperating with the investigation," an MPCA official said. "We are happy that the two players are on the field today."

He is a known serial offender.i see one issue with these tier 2 cities is that there are very few options for good coffees
.Almost all of the foreign cricketers are mad about coffee and they update the hotel pic daily in their social media profile.I think all these culprits have their dose of info on whats going on with these group of ladies. Bcci is checking about the security breach too as these players regularly goes on with out much security. I think he will be cleaned out silently once wc is done.

Swift action like this sends a strong message that harassment will not be tolerated, and justice will be prompt regardless of who the victims are.

It’s also a reminder to avoid jumping to conclusions based on identity or politics before the facts are clear. Kudos to the Police and government for acting decisively

Muslims ( mostly uneducated,madarsa types) are notoriously known for crimes against woman. They are " taught" by muslim clerics to treat women and children certain way and thats why there are grooming gangs in UK. Its ok for them to molest women and children.

The molester, Akil Khan, must be punished- the hard way. Already arrested but the minority uneducated muslims are big problem all over the world, including India.

I hope Indian govt., for once, strip all these jahil madarasa out of Indian education system and give these musilms kids some real education so that they can give honor to women and girls.

This is now looking like theatrics by the police to cover up a security lapse. Doesn't matter if the girls went off on their own. As hosts of a tournament, there should have been at least one security personnel shadowing them especially when it's not a cosmopolitan city.

Although sexual harassment and assault can take place anywhere but India is a unique case

it is the only country where the victims are politically targeted and the assaulters/molesters get political support

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh a BJP politician who harassed and molested the Indian female wrestlers got all the political support and victims were demonized. everything in India is seen from the prism of political support and identity politics

It doesn't end there. Proven gang rapists and pedophiles have been celebrated and received with garlands upon their release in India. Even sexual crimes are made political in the country.


For the case in hand, I hope that they have the CCTV footage and the Aussie players did identify their molester. Indian police would find any poor person to shut down the controversy. Indian molesters and sexual assaulters have a history of getting away if they have a political support.

But we never hear a peep from them when tournaments are held in India, which is the rape capital of the world and most dangerous county for women.

Reminds me of when the mayor of Utah said he was hoping that Charlie Kirk's killer wouldn't be 'one of us', and instead some immigrant. This reaction from certain Indian posters has the same energy. Only difference is that Indian Muslims are Indians who have always lived in India.

Such worthless losers don't have the brains to realize how much shame they bring to their country with their actions. I understand shame and humiliation are alien concepts to them, but that doesn't mean they have the right to humiliate our country.
