He's a joke of a human being and joke of a role model, I had high hopes from him after watching him score 90+ in an ODI against SL in the UAE, he fell off so hard from there on and he just has nothing going for him in the future. He's got age on his side to some extent now but I think the lengthier the time he spends out the team the better it is for him. Otherwise I only see him converting himself into a T20 mercenary.

Its always easy to look good saying all the right things as an analyst then when you are in a leadership position in Cricket. We all know how Misbah handled Umar Akmal as a captain, dropped him unfairly from the test team and his career never really recovered since then.

On a side note, it was interesting to hear Danny Morrisons views who was a bit more empathetic, he was like Umar Akmal got married and when something like that happens your priorities tend to change in life, since he also recently had a kid, he was off the opinion that UA was perhaps more focused on his domestic life and Cricket was no longer at the same priority level as before. Nevertheless he was like UA will have to sort it out.

The amount of talent he has he could have easily become one of the top batsmen for Pakistan,

Only has himself to blame , how can you as a professional cricketer in this day and age fail a fitness test, this shows his commitment to the game , absolutely pathetic

This guy had immense talent. He could have been special. But unfortunately he lacks the brains to become a solid batsman. He didn't need to be on the level of Williamson, Kohli, Root or Smith but he should have been atleast 70-75% of them. Time to invest in other quality talents like Saud Shakeel, Saad Ali etc.
