Sorry bro, but you seem to be saying as kami manipulated everyone. Kami talked with his bat. He lived off his two performances against india.
You are doing wrong analysis.
Sarfraz of 2008 was terrible. He didnt know how to hold a bat he used to come out under immense pressure. Sarfraz wasted his chances at the start and had to be dropped.
We were making a compromise on akmal that if he drops catches atleast he can somewhat bat.
I remember the keeping competation at that time was zulqarnain, mohammad salman, naeem anjum, humayun farhat and sarfraz. Allof them were terrible batters. We had to work with kammi.
Sarfraz finally learn to bat at international after 2012. Even his asia cup performance was abit rusty in the start.
I understand that you dislike a plyer because he was bad, but you cant claim him to be a bad person personality wise or judge his whole personality.
Kammi was a poor cricketer, but as a human being he is one of the most humblest guys. People make jokes on his face and he just takes it and smiles
He did not talk with his bat. His batting was awful. A couple of fluke innings don't justify the hundreds of chances he was given.
He ended his career with a 20's average. And though he got worse over time, even at his best he was not brilliant. Its not like he was averaging like 40/50 runs and then dropped off.
But he built a persona where his dropped catches didn't matter because he was a consistent and dynamic batter..... except that he wasnt.
As for those who you mentioned, I guarantee they ALL could have averaged around 20 runs in international cricket and dropped FAR less chances. The point was, Kami had the bar SO low, that of course the alternatives could have been better. How can you say with certainty that for this random 8 year period that we had Kamran, there was not a single keeper batsman able to take basic catches and average more than 20 runs because they didn't look the part??
Zulqarnain proved that in one innings. Imagine he was given the chance far earlier, where would his life be now?
You have ignored the points about the runout chance and Umar faking an injury. I don't claim his personality is bad because I dislike him. I dislike him because of his attitude. Here are some quotes from the 'most humble guy'.
- Still wanting to get into the team in 2019 and complaining about not being selected - "The last selection committee, we focused a lot on youngsters which has taken our cricket down completely." "I can't say about this management but with the previous management, teams were built based on liking and disliking and the results are in front of you."
- After Paine dropped multiple chances on day 5 and cost Australia a win against India "I am glad that Pakistan wasn’t playing there and he wasn’t in a Pakistan team or else they would have said so many things about him. Now I will see what will be said by those people who have spoken about me at length."
- The infamous quote in 2014 after FINALLY being dropped for averaging 18 runs over a whole year. He blamed it all on his batting position and refused to accept he was rubbish. How exactly is that HUMBLE?
“I am playing well. Just give me three chances as an opener and if I fail to deliver, then I will have no complaints even if I’ll be dropped permanently,”. Given his influence, he was selected for the t20 World Cup... as an opener where he scored 48 runs in 4 innings at a strike rate of 85.
- in 2018 when he was 36, and wasnt being picked "A few things left to do [to get noticed by selectors] - maybe I should hit myself with cricket bats, burn my kit, or do something else which will get the PCB to talk to me. From my end, I have done everything including maintaining fitness and form". Funnily enough, I just came across that thread and you commented directly below this interview saying "Wow, look at the attitude.
Years of poor performances. He dropped catches when he was in the team, took his selection for granted and this is what he cmes up with .
He should be apologising to the nations for the matches he has lost us." That doesn't sound like he is a very humble guy.
- When he wasnt getting selected in 2020 as a 38 year old "Should I go and perform in India or Australia to be considered? I am Pakistan's player, I have been performing since 5 years, how much should I tolerate it? Should I go to the Prime Minister and say this is my performance for 5 years? If there's someone who is playing ahead of me with fantastic performances, that's fine. I said play me as a wicket-keeper if needed"
- "How many fitness tests did Younis bhai and Misbah bhai give? It was Mickey Arthur who came here and started this problem of fitness tests. This policy won't make players focus on fitness and because of these policies, our cricket is going down"
- When he turned down a domestic contract because he was insulted by the amount "I am not angry with my provincial team but you know all my stats and achievements. Now it wouldn't be nice if I accepted 50,000 monthly (so I turned down provincial contract). I am getting my salary from WAPDA and until that's coming, I don't think I need PCB's 50,000"
- Before this years PSL, when he was demoted but still promised a higher salary "If it has to end like this, so be it, but I am not going to play with such humiliation," he said. "This is an embarrassment. You don't treat a player like this. With all the runs I have scored in the league, I deserve better."
Is that enough?
