Umar Akmal vs Kamran Akmal - Who is the better batsman?

Title is self explanatory. Long wanted to hear the views of Pak fans on this topic. You can specify it in different formats.

This might not be the majority opinion but personally, I feared Kamran more than Umar. Kamran was a very aggressive batsman (not that Umar isn't one) and I think that opinion might have been formed due to the fact that Kamran played better knocks against us.

Umar Akmal

Kamran Akmal has fooled everybody into thinking that he was a world class batsman by playing a couple of good innings. Good batsmen do not average 14 and 16 in Australia and England.

Kamran was excellent through the covers - particularly at giving catching practice to the point fielder.

Umar can be compared to the likes of Kohli, AB, etc. But not Kami.

On the contrary - Kamran played some of his best knocks (especially in Tests) under pressure.

E.g. the Karachi Test 2006, Mohali 2005, Eden Gardens 2007.

There were some interesting POV's but most agreed Kammy was better in pressure situations and could be destructive on his day but Umar was the more talented player.

Kamran loses few points due to his terrible keeping. So Umar wins over Kamran.

Kamran couldn't even rotate the strike to save his life, he relied on boundaries too much and high SR in some innings were due to him hitting boundaries. He does play some good shots but he provides a lot of catching practice in the off-side region of the field. Both players however are useless to us since they lack a tactical brain.

Kamran is dangerous. Kamran is better at square of the wicket. Both mentally, technically Kamran is better. Probably Umar gets attention for his flamebuoyance. Kamran saved a test and won a test with his bat.

I don't consider Umar Akmal as batsman. Most of innings are fluke or by luck. Kamran is super batsman but worst keeper, fielder and unfortunately he is too old. I would rather take an all rounder or even a bowler than Umar Akmal.
