UN asks India to mediate between Israel and Palestine

The UN is exploring ways to engage India for mediation between Israel and Palestine to resolve the protracted conflict between the two in the Middle East.

A delegation of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People was on a two-day visit to New Delhi beginning from Monday.

The team includes UN Ambassadors and Representatives of Senegal (Committee Chair); Indonesia and Malaysia (Committee Members); and the State of Palestine (Committee Observer).

According to an official statement, the delegation 'intends to engage India, a country with good relations to both the State of Palestine and Israel, in looking for ways how it could play a more proactive role in the settling of the question of Palestine'.

The UN group will focus on enhancing the political and diplomatic support of India for a peaceful solution of the question of Palestine; and engaging Indian counterparts on synergies in capacity building for staff and institutions of the State of Palestine.

The visit would also focus on enhancing the coordination of the UN committee bureau and India on capacity building projects for the State of Palestine, including within the context of South-South and Triangular Cooperation.

The UN team will hold meetings with Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar, and senior officials in the Ministry, political leaders, and think tanks.

India can't solve this issue. This is a partially political and partially theological conflict.

Also UN: oh well we can just use india the nation that is torturing kashmiris day and night to mediate between palestine and another torturous country israel which also happens to be indias best friend.

That would be a great initiative. But for that to happen Pakistan will have to recognize Israel :D

At the moment, there is a larger possibility of Pakistan giving AJK to India than Pakistan recognising Israel as a state.
 
Biggest joke of the century. Current Indian leadership isn't too far off Israeli ideology. So we know which way they will lean.

And the Palestine guys response would be no but our British brothers like Moeen Ali wear bands of freeing Palestine which are as exquisite as gobar.

Gobar might be just a renewable source of energy that rural India has been using for 1000s of years which has caught the eye of the west now as they are looking into organic sources of energy and fuel but a British guy who looks like he walked out of middle Arabia wearing a band now that is priceless and gives us the upper hand .

You don't recognize states which are built on illegal lands and oppress minorities (just like Kashmir that's why India has a thing for Israel they both have a k**k for oppressing Muslim minorities by illegally taking their land)
On topic I agree I think it can help wasn't India looking for oic membership so that shows they have good relationships with Muslim countries outside of Pakistan

Someone will always have an issue somewhere. Is that going to stop India? By all means go ahead and facilitate peace between Israel and Palestine, and I give you my solemn word I will declare undying admiration and respect for the great nation of India.

But you know I hope this helps cause believe it or not India is not as biased imo as US is for Israel so hopefully something happens

UN having a laugh.... this joke of a country cannot be trusted to resolve a dispute between two mohallay ki phopoos and here they want them to resolve Israel-Palestine issue.

Zionists now want their other servants Indian to try and fool the Palestinians.

They seemed to have forgotten Modi will think there is a Hindu temple under the Al-Aqsa and refuse.

No deal will ever be done over Jerusalem, it will be liberated as before.
 
Palestine Israel should say this is our internal matter like India do with Kashmir.

It's a fact that India has good relations with Palestine. And that's because Palestine doesn't consider themselves the thekedaars of all muslims around the world.
 
The Indian government has goodwill with both parties, and we should try to maintain that. If it means acting as a 'mediator' by paying lip service to peace and finding a peaceful resolution and keeping both sides happy, keep at it.

I believe he was being sarcastic. The whole narrative out of Delhi violence has been that it was the Muslims who instigated and then butchered the innocent sanghis. Who just defended themselves :P

Maybe they should also settle the beef between their good buddies the Iranians and IndiaPhraaand Dolun while they are being the peacemakers?

That's a dumb statement. Diplomacy, Social benefits, infrastructure, Economy, Military etc etc are all independent of each other. I usually see this rhetoric whenever we hear a news about Google opening an office in India- What about toilets? if Amazon invests- What about poverty. That is such a one-dimensional way of looking at things. Just because there are toilet issues or radicalization of minority youth or poverty, the government should ignore all other areas including diplomacy?

I have family and friends in US, Canada and UK and from what I have heard Britain is the most racist among the 3 followed by Canada. I think in countries were appeasement politics are the norm, the natives usually get fed up and move to right as they are doing in UK with Boris.

Canada I did experience first hand some racist vibes and I am not alone.

US you see what you get. Trump will be your friend if he has use with you and will throw you away like a disposable napkin if he doesn't need you pretty much symbolic the way US works and nothing wrong with that, that's how every country should run. look out for themselves and in turn the citizens benefits rather than the whole one brotherhood nonsense.
 
Funniest thing I've read all week. Even if we put aside for one second, India's record on Kashmir and their treatment of their own Muslims. How is India expected to be impartial? They are completely in bed with the Israelis especially inregards to intelligence-sharing and buying military technology.
