More than 150 people were on board. I hope people are safe but I'm not feeling good about it. Very very sad incident.

Absolutely heartbreaking.
Praying for the victims, their families, and rescue teams on the ground. 💔
Hope we hear of survivors soon .

Its Air India Ahemdabad-London international flight has crashed during take off in Ahemdabad of Gujarat. High casualties expected. 💔

Oh myy... this is looking bad... I hope things are fine but we all know how things usually end in such crashes.... Hoping for some positive news

Very sad and tragic news. I expect no survivors.

This is why I have a phobia of flying. All those smartass pilots who gives lecture on youtube about how air travel is safest and you are more likely to die in car accident heading towards airport is bs.

In a plane, you are basically enclosed in a pipe shaped meterial filled with inflamable objects and your fate relies on a pilot whom you never met or not seen.

It's confirmed.

Ex-CM of Gujarat Vijaybhai Rupani was on the flight that crashed today in Ahmedabad.

Oh my goodness what a tragedy. I hope that there are not many casulties but that video looks like it will be difficult to survive.

Terrible tragedy.

Prayers to those who have lost their lives and hope there are survivors but it looks grim.

Air India confirms nationalities of those on board crashed flight, including 169 Indians, 53 British, 7 Portuguese and one Canadian.

This is the first crash for Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Scary part is that this is a fairly new plane and it crashed in clear weather.

Oh no, what a tragedy. 😔

In the past, I have had nightmares a couple of times where a plane was about to crash in our neighborhood, and we were running to escape it hitting us. Now, this must have been a reality for some of the people there. It's truly awful.

I just watched a video showing the seconds before the plane crashed. It didn't look like it was going to crash either; it wasn't wobbling. But I'm not an expert on this, so maybe I'm interpreting the footage incorrectly?

There must have been plenty of British Indians returning to the UK so no doubt this will be major news over here. Always a tragedy when any plane goes down, it is every traveller's worst nightmare.

This particular aircraft, VT‑ANB, was equipped with two GE GEnx‑1B64 engines.

Oh damn, am not as familiar with that platform, but the later variants of the RR offering are reliable and they also resolved the publicised blade issues during COVID.

The aircraft's flaps seemed retracted. Without which a plane cannot sufficient lift. So apparently it's a case of pilot error

rip to deceased huge gujrati brit community in uk both Hindus and muslims condolences .

Imagine IPL had just ended yesterday and a whole bunch of English cricketers were in this. Even Virat Kohli lives in London.

Every life matter.

But would have shaken up the cricketing world

If someone had missed this flight. Imagine what he/she must be going through. The margins of life and death sometimes.

Cricketers dont fly in Air India. Not saying it doesnt happen to other airlines but Air India is a notoriously poor airline.

Thats true though.

Neither do i except in certain cases where AI direct flight has a benefit.

It crashed into an hostel, many students lost their lives too. Moments like these make us realise how fragile and uncertain life is.

Prayer for the family and loved ones left behind in grief. Om Shanti 🙏

Teribble news.

I hope there are survivors although looking at the footage it really doesn't look good :(

Hearing the news, I think 53/54 British Nationals, a Canadian and a couple of Portuguese passengers all well as all the rest.

People wonder why we have a serious issue with our Muslim population. This is what we deal with on mostly everything to do with our country from this community.

Ignore bhai. Sabhi Tareh ke log hote hai. Positive chijo ko dekho

Prayers and thoughts to all those who have lost family and friends. A terrible tradegy.
I would avoid going on X / other Social platforms where there will be trolls, trolls will always troll when stuff like this happens.

Why are taking such people seriously. People like these are in every community. I'm 100 percent sure if something like this had happened with PIA similar reactions would have been on Indian side too. Such people are mad

Even something as sad and tragic as this, why does everything in your country become a communal issue? There is no guarantee that these are genuine people from India and not the trouble formenting bots inside your country.

Rip to all.
It never looked like it can fly .both pilots are very experienced. Need to investigate for any missed steps in case technical evaluation before fly.

Crisis teams set up in India and the UK, Lammy says

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has arranged crisis teams in India and the UK, Foreign Secretary David Lammy says.

He tells the Commons: "My thoughts, and I’m sure those of the entire House, are with those who’ve been affected by the tragic plane crash in India this morning.

"We know that British nationals were on board and I can confirm that the FCDO is working urgently with local authorities to support British nationals and their families, and has stood up a crisis team in both Delhi and in London."

all indians?

Scrolling through the X timeline and seeing all the Tweets is terrifying.

Many had big dreams of going abroad and many were studying in that medical college with so many goals, where the flight crashed. All shattered in an instant.

Westerners getting a free racism pass today. Too many sickening comments against India and Indians on social media.

I hope we never stoop to these levels when we have grown to a position of strength but these times will never be forgotten.

20 Medical student ( Hostel ) lost their life and more than 40 injured . Absolutely horrible

Our Indian brothers and sisters, on the other hand, are sticking to the same script and pointing fingers at Pakistan. :facepalm :inti

You guys do it from a position of weakness brother, God knows how you will behave if you ever get into strength.

Tragic news. And my condolences to all deceased. Worst nightmare for travellers but also the families waiting on arrivals.

This is also a very serious investigative issue and if any incompetencies are found, that's a criminal offence on the part of the airline.

Westerners have lost faith in the afterlife so for them what is right and wrong is subjective to their own wellbeing here and now. As Hindus who believe in consequences of each and every action I would hope you would take a more holistic view.

Regardless of what low rank Indian commentators might say, Pakistan should offer unconditional support and condolences. This is the whole point of having an elected govt in place, they should have the sensitivity to deal politically with such tragic events.

Flying is my biggest fear in life. It is always a big sacrifice for me to travel by plane. Honestly, if I didn't have family in Pakistan, I would never fly.

This is such a sad tragedy and one of the worst ways to die. Condolences to the families of the victims.

I just heard the plane crashed near the medical hospital. This is devastating.

Every form of travel carries risk, car, plane, train, even walking. But when it’s your time, it’s your time. No one can outrun fate.

That is true. As a Muslim, I believe that everyone's time to die is predetermined, but I can never get over my fear of flying, no matter how safe flying is compared to other modes of transportation.

I always feel fairly relaxed about it, I trust in the professionalism of the flight operators generally. But in the back of your mind there is always a tiny thought that if anything goes wrong, there is no second chances on an airplane. It is an amazing feat of engineering to fly a vessel across the world at that height.

Some people have a phobia of travelling by plane. Jim Cornette is one of them.
