I am pretty sure that this second delivery to Simmons must have been the fastest of his entire career, Simmons was just so damn late on it

People who've seen Waqar in his absolute pomp always testify that he comes in the top 3 fastest bowlers of all time.
Waqar blames himself for playing too much FC cricket and rightly so. He said back then they didn't really have any understanding of taking care of their body.Shame how injuries ruined him after 1997, absolute peach of a bowler. He would have been the greatest of all time if he had maintained that peak. After 1997 and that stress fracture he suffered while toiling away for Glamorgan, he was a mere shell of the bowler he was pre-injury. Relied on pure seam and swing afterwards but his style of bowling was always high risk as he strove to pitch the ball up to get late swing, which meant that he was prone to bowling the odd loose ball every over. Still an absolute privilege watching him bowl even during those late years when the embers were flickering in the grate.
what wouldn't kohli dokohli would whip all those deliveries to the boundary
it was good bowling no doubt but the batting was terrible and they made it look faster than it was
modern batsmen have certainly improved at playing bowling at higher speeds thanks to bowling machines and improved training practices
what wouldn't kohli do
waqar was a minnow basher and master of tailenders. check his record against the best sides and against the best batsmen
he was not close to wasim and imran.

He wasn't the same type of bowler after his injuries but there is no way he was exclusively feasting on weak batsmen or tailenders. You don't finish with almost 800 international wickets at an average of 23 by being a minnow-basher.

Are you deliberately trolling and trying to make Kohli/ his fans look bad? or were you actually being serious?
no i genuinely don't rate waqar highly. his stats reflect a career where he thrived on weaker batting lineups and tailenders
his record against australia, south africa and india are mediocre at best. now pls don't give me excuses and how stats don't reflect bla bla bla
waqar was a very good bowler but not a great bowler. it is very annoying when people put him on the same level as wasim and imran who were true legendary bowlers
So what?
India, Australia and England were minnows.
The top two teams apart from Pakistan were the West Indies and South Africa.
Didn't he almost ended Tendy's career with a bouncer in his very first game?![]()
he actually yorked him for a duck. it was debut for both.
but the rest is history.
Who knows man but maybe Tendy's leg shook for decades due to that one delivery.
We will never know![]()
still had twice the career waqar did
I don't see Tendu taking 800 odd international wickets @ 23 a piece.....How did he had twice the career ??![]()
They were not even close to the fastest 2 deliveries Waqar bowled. You really had to see Waqar bowling for Surrey in 1991 before his first stress fracture to believe how fast he was. Think Brazilian Ronaldo before his serious injury - Waqar was was the fast bowling equivalent.

Why are there no videos of Waqar in Surrey in 1991?
