IF you are a batsman thinking of facing Naseem Shah - be very afraid! This is some quality quick bowling and something that would make the likes of Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram very proud.

Easily the best Fast bowling prospect i have seen in last two decades from Pak. (ignoring M.Asif because he was a medium pacer.)

Wow how this guy was ignored in favor of Hasnain for World Cup, selectors cheap antics surfacing. They just wanted Wahab to be irreplaceable like Imam and Malik so they selected that kid.

Naseem looks miles ahead of Hasnain has terrific short bowl and fantastic pace. Moving the bowl also. Should be in Pakistan team and well looked after alongwith Harris Rauf.

I hope he is managed well and he remains working hard on his fitness. At this tender age for a bowler as fast as him back issues are the main issue. Bond and Cummins are the prime example though Cummins after initial setbacks is now fine due to his hardwork.

Bowling muscles generally get stronger around the age of 23-24, Shane Bond was unlucky as he struggled throughout his career. For next few years Naseem should be handled with high care.

Some serious raw pace right there.

Anybody knows more about this kid?.. Height?.. He looks kinda short in that video.. Does he move the ball much?.. Cant tell with that footage as most deliveries he bowled were short and hostile.

He has just recovered from back Injury was in the Quetta Gladiators squad along with Hasnain but he wasnt fit to play at that time.

He is a national asset should be givin as importance as our nuclear installations (just kidding)

Boy looks special hope he is able to fulfil his potential

He is 5 feet 10 I think

i think he 17 or 18 and is 5'10 or 5'11, but looks seriously good. ChiefDestroyer your views will be appreciated.

Height seems to be an issue, doesn't look tall. How tall is he?

Also the video seems to be sped up what's his pace like? Action seems pretty good and seems skittish. Can be a good prospect but might lose out if he's not tall.

After Shoaib and M.Sami When was the last time Pak bowler actually make the batsmen scared due to sheer pace and bounce? I seriously doubt that Hasnain is quicker than this dude.

He is tall enough to break few jaws in his career, stop worrying about his height.

Will be the breakout star and next years U19 WC like Rabada was. Hopefully Muddassar Nazar and co will manage his workload well.

I think it will be unfair for u19 kids facing such a beast of a bowler.

Thats what I was thinking his pace is too much for the U 19 level. If this was 1988 and imran khan was captain this kid would be in UK with the national XI. ICC pitches in World Cup have made wickets suited for bounce. Even if he did'nt manage to swing this guy would've bounced the hell out of India and Afghani batsmen.

Beautiful.

Look at the follow-through.

Serious pace and will get quicker.

He's 5 foot 10" at the moment.

Only 16 remember, so cut the kid some slack.

Yes, height is a question mark on his progress, but he can manage it with hardwork and skill.
He is taller than Hasan Ali and Mohammad Sami and India's Mohammad Shami, has the same height as of Shoaib Akhtar, an inch shorter than Waqar Younis, just a comparison.

His real test will be under 19 WC in 6 months time. If he performs well against Indian under 19 batsmen, only then I will be impressed. India always has quality batsmen, even Shaheen Afridi was just OK against likes of Shaw in lats under 19 WC.

Naseem wasn't fully fit.

He also missed the PSL due to a back injury.

Why would I worry? It's genuine question. Why so defensive? Cheer up he might turn out to be a good bowler or he may be lost in wilderness time will tell.

Shoaib was 6 feet or more I think, looks like it anyways. If he's shoaib's height then there shouldn't be a problem. He can extract bounce and already has raw pace.. now the most important thing is left for him and people around him to do. Groom the kid

Whatever shoaib's drawbacks are I think he should mentor this kid and groom him.

Here we go again with the calls to fast track.

Nasim is promising but for god sake let him develop at his own pace instead of ruining him like we've so many others by debuting them before they've learnt their craft.

Let him play the U19 WC and one or two seasons of domestic FC cricket before graduating him to internationals.

Agree 100% , good to be excited about him, but over excitement is never a good option. Give the poor kid couple of years.

He needs to be nurtured and tutored by the best.

This is where people like Wasim and Waqar can come into the picture and go out of their way and help him at the NCA. We dont need photo ops - we need someone to take this guy and turn him into something good

Wasim Khan should take advantage of his networks in the UK.

He needs to form a affiliate partnership with one of the country clubs so these youngsters can develop at county level. Especially if Wasim is unable to convince England/Aus to come to Pakistan, he should at least negotiate a deal like that which will allow our youngsters to have county stints. Mir Hamza seems to be doing well as well.

Regarding Naseem Shah - no way he should be fast tracked. Fast tracking Hasnain has not helped at all. We must develop youngsters the right way, U19 overseas tours, Pakistan A, FC cricket etc.

More than domestic cricket, these guys need a few tours with the A team and they’ll be ready. Domestic coaches are more likely to run talents like these in to the ground.

Nasim is already in good hands Alhamdulillah. We should highlight and appreciate the unsung heroes of Pak cricket. Malik Nasr Sb is doing an incredible job to find & groom young cricket talent. Nasim is the product of Nasr Sir's academy. He is providing best facilities, accommodation & financial assistant (to his capacity) to these young talented players.

Good pool of pacers coming up
Shaheen
Naseem
Husnain
Musa
Ilyas
.......
Musa looks mature having good control over ball among them

No county team will take a risk with a young lad who hasn't played international cricket.

At best he could play some 2nd XI cricket in England.

For counties? That will still benefit him.

Love his aggression. Best bowling talent since Amir. He will be lethal in U19 WC next year.

Said this before and will say it again, he's going to emerge as the best young bowling talent in the world. Where he goes from there will depend on how hungry he is and how he's managed.

Absolutely. But it will need some work behind the scenes by the PCB to organise it.

With the PCB now having links with Warwickshire, it would make sense to get the lad to work with them for a bit.

Has his action been worked on?

I've been sending videos of Naseem to Mickey Arthur for a while now.

I've sent him today's video too and naturally he is excited about this lad.

Great great work...

No wonder this is cricket’s best forum.

Why both cannot be good? They both could very well be our near future stars and beyond.

Action looks demanding and strenuous on the back

Great to see this guy is fully fit and hasn't lost any pace mA. Very, very exciting prospect!

I am very excited to see this guy progress. i trust mudassar nazar words he does seems quicker than husnain, musa

Really dont understand all the worry about height. 5

He is 5'10 and has a high arm action. Many bowlers who are slightly taller with lower arm actions have succeeded.

Good point. Those interested in tall bowlers, there is a 17 yo 6'6'' right arm fast bowler Asim Ali under coaching of Iqbal Imam (coach of sharjeel & husnain). He is from Mirpur Khas Sindh & currently playing U19 somewhere in karachi. He was invited to NCA lahore few weeks ago. Karachi Kings have an eye on his progress.

Did mudasser say he's quicker than hasnain?

To me, Naseem Shah is bowling quicker than all of these bowlers and he is still very young but even he had a setback due to injury, mainly because he was trying to bowl quicker than what his body was ready for. Hopefully, at the NCA we will nurse him through like we did in the case of Umar Gul and Mohammad Amir. So, in terms of fast-bowling we are covered really well as you will see in a matter of 2-3 years’ time. The pleasing thing for me is that I have seen these guys develop from the time they were 16 when they were bowling around the 125-130 KpH mark and now they are touching speeds like 140-145 KpH

How is Naseems batting..Musa is a decent bat

Didn't get many opportunities yet. Currently batting at No.10. Scored 23(47) in crucial 69 runs 9th wkt stand with Abbas Afridi in 1st ODI vs SA.

nasim is the quickest of the lot (young pak pacers) and has the nicest action, but really is annoying when people speed up these videos.

im guessing hes low 90s, which would be super impressive if hes really 16 which i highly doubt since i remember him being spoken about a few years ago i think.

either way needs 20, 30 odd domestic games to develop match fitness.

Looks very promising. With his action if he sustains his pace could be lethal swinging the ball in the future.

Obviously very gifted. Health remains the main concern. His action has come leaps and bounds. They need to manage his games carefully.

Excellent from the young one action is very nice and short pitch stuff looks neat too. I will not comments on the pace as these videos are recorded using a regular camera, and this is not the indication of how fast someone is bowling.

I hope PCB will not hand him over to Azhar Mahmood, but he gets proper training and good fitness advice.

I want Mickey to stay but we know after world cup he is gone.

Thanks. Yes definitely. They need to manage his workload and I am sure mudasaar is doing a great job in this regard. He was rested for the previous game and I am sure they my rest him for the rest of the series since they have won it.

I don’t trust the brits, they will steal him and make him play for England:))

Pakistan have won the series already with 3 matches to go. No need to play him anymore in the series or just give him the last match. Enough rest is a must for bowler like him.

He is 5 feet 10 I think
Yah he looks around that mark.. Hopefully 17/18 is his actual age and the kid can grow another inch or two

Shoaib was 6 feet or more I think, looks like it anyways. If he's shoaib's height then there shouldn't be a problem. He can extract bounce and already has raw pace.. now the most important thing is left for him and people around him to do. Groom the kid

Shoaib is no taller than 5'10"..tho, if you ask him, hell probably say hes 6'5". There are plenty of pictures of him standing next to afridi whos 6 feet tall and Shoaib looks atleast 2 inches shorter despite the thick 3 pairs of socks he was wearing all the time on the ground.

Man all you people keep talking about height look at shami and bumrah height is not even a factor in fast bowling anymore both are like 5”9 5”10

He is tall enough to break few jaws in his career, stop worrying about his height.
This isnt to say he cant succeed but being tall is big asset for a fast bowler. When was the last time you saw a world call fast bowler who isnt tall? .. Shoaib is the only exception and you cant really compare him with anyone else since he was the also the fastest bowler of all time.
Generally someone below 6feet mark will have to be very special in other areas of his bowling to make up for it.

Bumrah and shami are world class and bumrah is even a tier above the rest and they ain’t even 6 feet so you don’t know what you are talking about

If Shami is your example of "world class", then we have nothing to discuss im afraid.

About Bumrah, yes again hes quite a bit of an anomaly.. Boomerang action, hyperextension at elbow, batsmen generally pick up the length much later than they would with any other bowler, and the ability to bowl yorkers at will..and if he continues to perform like this for another 5 years, then we can talk about him being world class.

Shame he might not be there when/if Naseem comes through.

Shami has 13 wickets in 3 matches and have a look at his odi record also bowling in this era is the most difficult thing ever and fast bowling is even harder. Thick bats, short boundaries, two new balls, fielding restrictions, and two bouncers, and etc. The record shami and bumrah have with all that going against them they are nothing short of world class and it’s not like they just started playing yesterday shami has been around for over 7 years yeah bumrah has just started only 3 or 4 years but their is no reason for them to be not continuing like this.

Should never sacrifice his pace, yes there will be injuries, yes there will be coaches lining up to change his action, but what's better a short career like Shane bond or another Anwar Ali ?

Fast track him into the international setup, so the conditioning and support provided is at least somewhat decent. Make him travel with the team, play a few t20s. Not sure about 4 day.
