Awesome and raw pace from Naseem Shah - great signs for Pakistan cricket

Shame he might not be there when/if Naseem comes through.

Once again.

Whoever the new coach is will be aware of Naseem. If he isn't then he shouldn't be in the job.

Point is the new coach might not be in favour of bringing in Naseem Shah.

Can we keep him away from PSL?

Couple of deliveries at 150 KPH in PSL and he will be in the team, or 2 seasons of FC cricket and 100 FC wicket will not be noticed by any selectors watching TV in their family room, as FC games are not televised.

Some ferocious deliveries in the video. He is clearly a talent and must be preserved. Good thing the under 19 management understands this and they rested him for one game to not rush him back.

Try before you buy:ma Throw him in the deep end sooner rather then later.

Ifs buts maybes.

Whatever the case. This boy looks a special talent. His time will come.

Lets hope he doesn't get injured again, no point in playing him the remainder of the series but still he's playing today

Let him play in FC for a season or two, judge his fitness and stamina, for the ability to bowl over 145kph.

We can then think about international career.

Good prospect but needs to be in FC system for now.

Yah he looks around that mark.. Hopefully 17/18 is his actual age and the kid can grow another inch or two

Shoaib is no taller than 5'10"..tho, if you ask him, hell probably say hes 6'5". There are plenty of pictures of him standing next to afridi whos 6 feet tall and Shoaib looks atleast 2 inches shorter despite the thick 3 pairs of socks he was wearing all the time on the ground.

Quick Google searchs shows Shoaib is 6 feet and Afridi is 5'11. In the photos also Shoaib looks taller than afridi. Maybe socks j don't know but he definitely is taller than afridi and is 6 feet easily.

I have met many Pakistani players in Caribbean including Shoaib Akhtar and Afridi. I'm 5-11 and Afridi is of my height and Shoaib Akhtar a bit shorter, 5-9 or 5-10, absolutely not 6 feet tall.

There are images on the internet brother. No way is Shoaib shorter than afridi unless in all those images he is wearing 3 inch heels.
Saj can you confirm shoaib's height and afridis height?

I've been sending videos of Naseem to Mickey Arthur for a while now.

I've sent him today's video too and naturally he is excited about this lad.

As the chances are the Mickey Will be gone after the WC, I am hoping that the next Chief Selector, coach and Captain have this talent in mind. The PCB need to be careful managing his work load in all cricket. And i havent given up Hasnain either, just needs to learn to use the seam to get movement.

Bro, he is already able to bowl outswing to the righthanders Ive seen it.

I think it will be unfair for u19 kids facing such a beast of a bowler.

Thats what I was thinking his pace is too much for the U 19 level. If this was 1988 and imran khan was captain this kid would be in UK with the national XI. ICC pitches in World Cup have made wickets suited for bounce. Even if he did'nt manage to swing this guy would've bounced the hell out of India and Afghani batsmen.

He may be too much for Pakistani batsmen, but Indian U19 batsman like Shaw Gill etc have shown that they can take on international bowlers and score runs. So this guy wont be bouncing them out.

dont mind his age and height if he can bowl this fast... he is aggressive, something that is missing in pak cricketers these days.. we def need him up front... the likes of following bowling options make me interested in future

1) Nassem
2) Harris Rauf
3) Hussnain
4) Musa Khan
5) Umer Khan

ironically nothing from Zalmi and Multan in that list.. and yes 1/2 matches in PSL makes a lot of difference in terms of being noted.. the reason why likes of Zeeshan Malik and Hassan Mohsin are not even considered :(

Mohammad Ilyas - lets not forget him.

not that great to be honest.. hasnt got that pace ...
1) Nassem
2) Harris Rauf
3) Hussnain
4) Musa Khan
5) Umer Khan

+ Shaheen Shah
+ Aamir
+Shanwari
+ Shadab
+ Imad

i think thats a big enough pool to work with

Hassan Ali needs to goooo

You should add Zafar Gohar to your list

actually you are right... he spins the ball, something not many spinners from pakistan are doing currently ... def one to look forward to.

I dont see any good leggies coming out.. there was a Mamoon Kashif who played in the ramazan tournament, a chinamen ... any ideas about him?

He looks like a solid prospect and for not he must be kept an eye on. I would also like to see him go through the domestic cricket route and gain some experience.

Take Musa out, he is way too short to be an international level fast bowler, very short for a fast bowler, Naseem Shah is OK and will be successful , as his height is OK.

not sure how much height is just good enough.. i mean Waqar wasnt tall, Marshal, not saying he is either of the 2 but can be .. bowls at 140+ .. young.. looks very very strongly built .. a tank... so he can be a good prospect

Next Shaun Tait :aag

I hope not. Tait had poor control and even in later stages of his career when he slowed down, he didnt have good control. Overall an average bowler with a gift of pace.

I would rather want Naseem to be like an Akhtar or Allan donald or pre-injury Waqar.

Continue dreaming he has more chances of being Mohammed Talha then even half the bowler Tait was who used to own guys like afridi Farhat Nazir and Khalid :)))

No doubt Hasan has struggled recently and bowled rubbish, but you like many fans go from one extreme to the other very quickly. Hasan has a future if he can regain control and not bowl length balls when Yorkers are required. I think Hasan will be back.

wishing evil for your own player to one up a foreigner?
If tait is your standard then i have nothing to say to you. You probably know something about fast bowling that i dont.

Don’t forget Arshad possibly the best test prospect among all I think he is close to Shaheen height bowls mid 130’s and is a right arm

Also sameen gul who is very good new ball bowler which we desperately need in test

Sameen and arshad iqbal should get a chance in test sooner than later

He'll be twice the bowler Tait was. You can bookmark this post. And the batsmen you mention are all garbage so it's not an achievement to own them. Tait was average. Naseem has better control at 17 than Tait ever had.

I havent tbh, but he is def. one that should bee groomed properly. The turn he gets is insane

Thank you for mentioning. We desperately need a tall right arm pacer who can extract bounce from a good length if we're to compete away to Australia and South Africa. Arshad Iqbal can fit that bill.

As if those batsmen you mentioned were world beaters :)))

Anyone touches 150k in domestic currently? im tired of watching these military medium pacers.

Looked very average in the U19 WC, hopefully he will become the bowler that you think he is. I didnt see anything to get excited about.

seems to have vanished.. i hope he is picked by one of the teams in PSL... that seems to get you in all right radars these days... i really hope Qalandars pick him and drop Yasir Shah... huh there can be no 1 worse than Shah in T20

If fully fit than all costs he should be in playing eleven of Pakistan Odi team whenever we play our next Odi against whichever opponent.

He is the real deal. The way he is bowling deadly bouncers and Yorkers is a sight we as Pakistani’s have missed for almost a decade.

Monsee look out for this boy.

He has injured a south African player today with a brutal delivery.

No, not yet.

He should be playing the upcoming U19 Asia Cup, the full domestic season and then the U19 World Cup next year. After that we have the PSL, where he will get picked up.

Then based on how he does, we can talk about getting him into the team.

He need one if not a couple of domestic seasons, especially now with QeA restructured. The guy is still 17.
