All fun stuff but amazing how well Babar (and Shoaib Akhtar) is known to the Australians :D

Didn't expect so many to not know New Zealand's. She's been in our news a fair bit over the last year, especially around the time of the Christchurch attack

The main quicks were on it! And im not sure why but I expected better from labuschange!

Some wild guessing by Australian players!

Have added another version of the video in OP

lol imagine if one of them said Misbah as prime minister, espicially since he is everything in PCB, batting, head, IU coach and selectorand more will come :salute

Most of them knew if was a female and couple also indicated that they probably seen her. But apart from a few none couldn't guess her name.

thanks..
sad that they are clueless..
maybe we asians are more into politics as Politicians are part of Entertainment for us

They were not as clueless tbh. Most of them knew IK was Pakistan's PM whereas i am sure many Pakistanis wouldnt know who is Australia's PM. I dont know who Australia's PM is.

Good laugh though - but Siddle's answer was classic!

Lol! Epic. I hope some of the Australian batsmen get as confused while batting in the test series too. :ma

Imran Khan is a household name in the UK and Aus.

Not surprised to see they knew of him.

Shoaib Akhtar is also a legend.

Ehh, More than half the players didn't knew about imran
Even before i started following cricket passionately i rarely heard anything about imran. It was all wasim, waqar shoaib in india.

Wasim akram, shoaib akhtar are the most famous pakistani cricketers not imran.

You do realize that these are cricketers? so its like saying that you are a software developer and you havent heard of Bill Gates?

MenInG bhai its ok, not everyone has heard of Imran Khan. They were either born later, or frankly do not care as much.

Yes possible its a generation thing.

this says a lot about the new generation even the Aussies who we consider to be the 'smartest' in the game....they don't know Imran Khan (ex-cricketer)...amazing

I am not an international cricketer, far from it but even I know of the generational greats from across the world and if one of them became a Head of State i would know

Australians have never been known as the brightest
for a cricketer to not know who is a president of Pakistan is just inexcusable though

Cummins is on fire, nonetheless bar the few others who also knew the rest are quite embarrassing tbh.

Wait...Babar can’t speak any English tho. He certainly can’t be prime minister let alone captain. His English is bad as totla Sarfraz LOL

I doubt even if many Pakistanis know who a president of Pakistan is.

Btw the question was about the PM.

Haha don't know why people here expect Australians to know Pakistan PM. Not everyone follows politics and these guys are cricketers some might know IK is PM because of being ex cricketer but others who have no interest in world politics won't know or care.

Surprised to see people being offended or bemused by it.

They probably didn't know that he was PM but I would be shocked if half of these players didn't know who Imran Khan was.

I'm more surprised that almost no one knew the NZ PM. She probably features on the news a lot more than Imran in Australia. Even then it is surprising that they didn't know Imran was PM of Pakistan, when the elections were going on and when Imran won it came on the news a few times in New Zealand, so I imagine it would have been in Australia too.

The number 1 bowler knew them both though, he is number 1 for a reason.

But the Australian PM isn't an ex cricketer is he?

Although I do know the Aussie PM (Scott Morrison) as he comes on the news frequently here, I don't know the Aussie PM a lot of the time as they change so often. They probably change more often then the UK PM does these days. I only found out it was Scott Morrison in March.

8 out of 17 cricketers knew about IK, on the other hand only 4 knew about Jacinda Ardern. And the ones that knew about Jacinda Ardern knew about IK as well. What a surprise, lol

It’s not surprising actually- the level of ignorance outside their country I see in common people in USA, Canada is mind blowing - what we used to say in school days as general knowledge, is completely missing. I am sure if asked, almost all of them will say that PAK’s capital is Lahore or Karachi and India’s Mumbai!!!!

The Babar Azam one was beyond ignorance though - it might happen that he didn’t understand the question. Imran is extremely popular in Australia, probably the most popular (& respected) non Aussie cricketer there, so it’s quite surprising actually. Many auto/rickshaw puller in Dhaka actually know that Imran Khan is PAK’s PM.....

Does it really matter, they are cricketers not international politics students.
How many indians and pakistani players can name the aussie premier and the SA premier?

Typical western countries, they dont follow much cross-border/other countries news, and thus insular outlook and don't know a lot about rest of the world happenings.

The best are South Asians, who speak English and keen interest in both local and world news.

Most people only know about their own country and little about other countries.
This is even more true for the most successful countries.
However, countries aspiring to be like the more successful countries will always take an interest in those more successful countries affairs.

No. Its about news content, and how South Asians watch more worldwide news compared with West. There are data showing evidence on it. The results are obviously, a decent educated person in South Asia knows more about the world events than Westerners...

You obviously did not understand my post!
Let me simplify it, most people living in rich, successful 1st world countries do not care or are interested in third world problems in countries like india and pakistan.
However, third world countries are interested in 1st world countries, because its their ambition to be like them.

Simple analogy
A successful movie star would not be interested in your life, but you would be interested in their life, if you were a fan of them.

Get it?

You are rating them too highly. Chances are that they will say Pakistan's capital is Turkey and India's is Nepal.
