Lol says the man that had all 4 foreign spots filled by top 4. Sahibzada and Rizwan didn't play and Talat was pushed down the order.

Rizwan got lots of opportunities at the top but he failed in every single match.Same goes with Farhan,he too had a horrendous tournament and we know what happens when Talat bats at 3.

Look he can't put his team in trouble by doing this individually as we all knows what is standard of pak batsmen but once it becomes a rule then he will follow too.

I dnt think this will work bcz almost every franchise is playing two Pakistani batsmen in top 4-5 already. The thing is franchises are reluctant to give chances to the youngsters.
The owners just wanted to win no matter how it comes & it's natural. I suggest atleast 1 youngster in top 4 but at permanent batting number and youngster means youngster not like maqsood shehzad etc.

All these franchise owners are nothing but money hungry Idiot. All their passions are there for camera. They have lack of knowledge about domestic young performers.

When guys like Nasir Nawaz and Saud Shakeel are benched for entire seasons, while the likes of Saif Badar arent even selected, what is there to complain about the lack of talent?

Can someone here list the number of new batsmen who were tried in this PSL?

I cant recall anyome except Ahsan Ali and Azam khan.

So what exactly are the coaches crying about? Which new batsmen were given enough chances and they failed????

Decent suggestion.

I would also suggest that each team has to pick 2 emerging players in the starting eleven.

nope just reduce overseas per eleven to 3. 4 is too many.

you have to keep persisting with them.

that is how they will develop.

Good suggestion. I despise the teams thinking when they have 4 overseas players in the top 4. IPL teams usually have 2/3 Indian players in the top 4.

The PSL is fast becoming a 'use Pakistani pacers and pack your batting with overseas players' tournament.

We need to get out of this ideology for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.

DJ's solution is a little unrealistic.

The better solution is to make each team play two emerging players- one bowler, and one batsman in the top four (?).

At the same time, change the minimum number of foreign players in the playing XI to three whilst keeping the max at four.

That way, sides still have flexibility...

Yes I like the idea of only 3 overseas players and 2 emreging players in the starting XI.

PSL has established itself now and doesn't need to have 4 overseas players in the playing XI.

United would be better with

1.Luke Ronchi
2.Hussain Talat
3.Alex Hales
4.Asif Ali

right now their top 4 is all overseas which is lame.

plus if Asif Ali wants to become a proper batsman he needs to bat in the top order... he's not going to develop if he comes in for a few overs.

Did the IPL have the same problems early on? Maybe some Indian posters can shed some light here

Don't think so!!!! Indian franchises are more aware of local talents and very keen to promote them as much as possible where all our franchises are totally ignorant about our local talents and go with the face value. All they want how to make money and all they no how to dance and act pitiful in front of camera to express their feelings.

That won't help if the batsman is coming in at #9...

You cannot force them rather make full team of emerging players all under 23 will help more. The franchise would like to play all seniors ahead of a single emerging player.

Excellent suggestion but in the end every franchise wants to win and they will do whatever they want to win.

Its not about win only otherwise how many matches Salman Butt, M Sami, Sohail Khan, Yasir Shah, Shakil Ansar, Umaid Asif, Shahid Afrdi, Nauman Ali, Mohammad Irfan.... won for the team.
Its about helping friends and face value. Even last team in the list will play next PSL so performances are not everything.

The main problem is Inzi for his stupid selection Pool of cricketers when it comes for young or mature cricketers. Many deserving young and old players are left out because of him.

2nd problem is choosing the players by the coaches who are most bias people for honest selection.

3rd problem is PCB for not enforcing at least 2 emerging players (At least 1 batsman) in the playing XI and their stupid 4 foreign players in playing XI.

4th problem is lack of cricket knowledge of these franchises when its come to appointing coaches.

Really hope the PCB seriously looks at this.

Two emerging players (one batsman, one bowler) is a must.

Highly unlikely. Most of the top people in PCB are not that honest to do right think plus serious lack of intelligence and common sense.

Excellent suggestion by Deano and probably one that can potentially help us find and persist with some good new batters. But it's not happening and we all know that.
Deano really knows cricket. Would like him to become the next coach of Pakistan team after Mickey goes.
