Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur made several sexist remarks targeted at Maryam Nawaz during a political gathering on Saturday, claiming that the PML-N’s leaders “beauty” was "due to the surgeries she got using taxpayers’ money".

“She is beautiful, I will speak the truth. But listen to this as well — she spent tens of millions on surgeries during Nawaz Sharif’s two governments, using your tax money to 'fix' herself,” Gandapur said while addressing a rally in Gilgit-Baltistan's Shigar.

“This beauty is also because of your money,” said the federal minister.

Turning towards the crowd, Gandapur said that if he “picks anyone from the crowd” and spends "just a little bit of taxpayer money" on them, then they will also turn into “Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise”.

'A rotten minister from a rotten system'

Responding to Gandapur, PML-N’s Rana Sanullah said that the “selected lot” are in fear of an “unarmed girl”.

“A single girl has shaken the entire vote-stealing government,” said Sanaullah.

He added that one can expect this “dirty mentality” from a “rotten system’s rotten minister”.

“To [make] personal attacks is proof of their political failure and moral bankruptcy,” said the PML-N leader.

He added that "people with a sick mentality — who steal sugar, wheat and votes — have nothing for the people of Gilgit Baltistan".

Very rich to see Rana Sanaullah taking issue with someone making personal attacks. Haven’t seen the guy in a while but boy was he (followed closely by Mushahidullah) were the kings of low, sexist personal attacks.

Looks like Kashmir is a bunch of hot air on the other side of the border too.

Non issue, let's move on. Rana Sana Ullah should keep his muzzle on at all times. He has so much lanath on his face due to his bad behaviour.

In her latest attack targeted at Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party, PML-N Maryam Nawaz likened them to the novel coronavirus.

"The disease called COVID-19 came to the world recently, but it had already spread in Pakistan in 2018," she said while addressing a public gathering in Gupis, Gilgit-Baltistan.

"And this disease doesn't go away by wearing masks," she continued. "It will go away when we throw it out."

The PML-N vice-president, who is on a seven-day election campaign ahead of the GB polls scheduled for the coming Sunday, said it "pained her to take the name of a person like Imran".

"Mian sahab has already put him aside, telling him to stay out of this fight between elders. But I have no choice but to take his name."

She said that "Imran Khan and his party of turncoats" is the name of the disease spreading through Pakistan today.

Maryam blamed the premier for weakening the country's ideological roots along with its economy, the federation and institutions.

She further said that a person like Imran Khan does not deserve the stature of the PM Office.

Talking about her party's five-year tenure, Maryam told the people of Gupis that it was the PML-N government in GB that made Yasinabad into a district, but it was not given its fair share by the incumbent government in Islamabad.

“The solution for your problems is only one, and the name of it is Nawaz Sharif,” said Maryam as she made the case to the people to vote for her party.

The PML-N leader said that people say that GB votes for the same party that rules in Islamabad. She added that the people of GB were intelligent and no one will “board a sinking plane, but many will jump from it”.

The PML-N leader also appealed to the women present at the rally to come out on election day along with their families and relatives and vote for the PML-N.

Very rich from PML-N paindus to have an issue with Gandapur's statement. These same paindus don't spare a moment in disrespecting the first lady and call her names even though she is totally non-political. Maryam Safdar herself has abused IK, it's only fair that she gets something back.

No it's not. Stop watching Indians news.

There are elections to be held in GB on 15th Nov and all parties are holding jalsas/rallies to garner votes.

Indecent allegations levelled at a prestigious politician
Hopefully he has substantial evidence otherwise he may look silly after the forthcoming elections

Pmln party folks started this. Here is what they historically did according to my memory:
1. They dropped off naked pictures of Benazir from plane.
2. Called Firdous Ashiq Awan as a guy if she doesn’t wear make up
3. Called shireen mazari truck citing that she’s a guy.
4. Calling First Lady jadogarni and what not.

I don’t support what this minister said but PML-N should be the last ones to be surprised at this taunt. They are the champions of it.

PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz has alleged that authorities installed cameras in her jail cell and bathroom.

In a recent interview, the PML-N leader spoke about the alleged inconveniences she had to face when she was incarcerated after being arrested in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case last year.

"I have gone to jail twice and if I speak about how I, a woman, was treated in jail, they will not have the audacity to show their faces," she said, referring to the government.

Maryam said that she was not talking about the ordeals she faced in jail as she "does not want to hide behind this" while she was struggling against the government. "Today, I do not want to cry and tell everyone that I have been unjustly treated," she added.

In her criticism of the government, Maryam said that if authorities can break into her hotel room (to arrest Captain Safdar) and arrest her in front of Nawaz Sharif, her father and launch personal attacks at her, then "no woman is safe in Pakistan".

"A woman, whether she is in Pakistan or anywhere else, is not weak," said Maryam.

In an interview with BBC Urdu, the PML-N vice-president said that her party is open to dialogue with the military establishment "within the ambit of the Constitution" and provided that the incumbent PTI government is removed from office.

"The army is my institution," Maryam had said. "We will definitely talk but within the ambit of the Constitution," she added.

The PML-N leader had said that she was not against state institutions but stressed that there would be no dialogue in secret.

The "incumbent government will have to go if we are to move forward", she added.

Maryam claimed that the "establishment had reached out to her close aides" but had not "contacted her directly".

She also said the idea of dialogue through the platform of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) can be deliberated upon.

Why does Supreme Court let this vile creature out? That was a shocking decision even though she was guilty of fraud.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday slammed Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur for using "shameful language" against PML-N's Maryam Nawaz in an election rally at Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Kotli.

"Disgusted by the shameful language Ali Amin Gandapur has used against Maryam Nawaz. His words are not only violent but also deeply misogynist. Just imagine that people with this mindset have been given the responsibility to govern a country of 220m people," Shehbaz tweeted.

Gandapur resorted to sexist language against PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Friday, saying she would be slapped so much that "your [real] face will be uncovered".

Addressing an election rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Kotli, Gandapur said: "I have a lot more to say but I will only say this to her (Maryam) that if we come to slap then you will get slapped so much that your [real] face will be uncovered from the Rs80 million [cosmetic] surgery you have done from our [tax] money."

Calling Maryam a "daku rani" (queen of thieves), the federal minister railed against her, saying, "Your grandfather's [blacksmithing] shop in Gawalmandi didn't have as much iron as the 32-kilogramme jewellery you were wearing when your father [PML-N supremo] Nawaz Sharif invited Modi for a wedding."

This is not the first time that the federal minister has used sexist remarks against Maryam.

“She is beautiful but she spent millions on her surgeries from the taxpayers’ money," he had said during a PTI rally in Gilgit-Baltistan in November 2020, adding that if he picked anyone from the crowd and spent just a little from the taxpayers’ money on their cosmetic surgeries then they would look beautiful as well.

His remarks had earned him severe criticism from opposition parties and people from different walks of life on social media.

'Children of looters'
In his tirade against the opposition, Gandapur said the children of rulers who had "looted property" in the country were coming to AJK and "asking to form a government so they can loot more".

He also hit out at PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, claiming that during his trip to the US "he wandered for 10 days and no one met him [...] this is their status in the world."

He called upon the people to vote for the PTI in the upcoming AJK election on July 25 and rubbished claims of attempts to rig the election, saying how could the PTI do so when the local administration and AJK prime minister belonged to the PML-N.

There is enough to attack Maryam on without mentioning the plastic surgery. Gandapur is going down to Noora levels.

He isnt wrong and nor is it sexist.

She is a child of extreme privilege, had she been from a normal family I doubt she would have amounted to much beyond a housewife. She has no right to cry about any 'ism' when is in a position way above her stature.
