Pathetic. We got hammered today and this is what our cricketers are doing? Rubbing cake in each others faces. And then we wonder why Pakistan has fallen from grace.

Go back and check Pakistan's record in the format. Lol at fallen from grace.

Birthday or no birthday, it shows the mentality of the team to be in such a jovial mood after the hammering they recieved. I expect them to win the tournament but do these guys really need to celebrate their birthdays when they are what, in their mid-twenties?

This cake rubbing thing is the most childish and annoying thing ever. I didn't know our players are doing it too, only saw videos of Indian cricketers giving each other cake baths.

Apparently, it's fun.

I don't quite see the point.

Ridiculous. Birthdays aren't really that important after a certain age - and as a professional cricket, when you have been beaten badly, no need to celebrate like school kids - not like cricket is something they do in their free time , they are representing their country, let us fans down and then publicly show how they are celebrating his birthday.

Lol it is just a bilaterial t20l he have every right to celebrate his birthday.if it was worldcup or any other important final i would agree.

They shouldn't celebrate their birthdays - they should be deported back home to Pakistan, taken to Swat Valley where local tribesman will dish out 40 lashes before sending the players back to Harare where further defeats will be met by life imprisonment in Adiala Jail.

Seriously guys, get a grip. They are allowed to be human beings and the tournament ain't over.

Pakistani fans are pretty shameful

I'm not saying they can't celebrate their birthdays - of course they can. My anger is them putting it all over social media despite our fans being disappointed with that awful performance.

The majority of the responses are absolutely ridiculous :))

Some of you may drag your professional life into your personal life, and make life at home hell for your families after a bad day at the office - but please don't expect anyone else to do the same.

Birthday comes only once in a year guys! Winning and losing is part of the game. It’s important to stay happy and motivated as a team. I don’t see any irresponsible behaviour.

And what’s life without some fun?

People find anything to be mad about. The replies in this thread are unbelievable

If anything is pathetic, its your reply. :))
Fallen from grace? 1st in t20I.

What's he suppose to do, stop living life after one defeat?

This would have been just fine after yesterday's match.

No need for a video of celebration.

It's just a T20 loss in a meaningless series, no big deal. It's not like they celebrated after losing in WT20.

Exactly... :amir2

The Birthday Police on this thread is hilarious :))

Can someone please suggest where I can please find the completed guide on "PPers Approved Levels Of Birthday Celebrations"?

So far I have learned the following rules of thumbs from the birthday celebration experts on this thread:

  1. If you rub cake on each others face, you will fall from grace (this one could be made into a t-shirt)
  2. You are not allowed to celebrate birthdays once you are above a certain age. Majority of experts believe that this age is around your early to mid-twenties
  3. Before doing something which you deem to be fun (e.g. aforementioned cake-face rubbing) you must gain approval from the PP experts to ensure it is indeed fun and you are not simply misunderstood
  4. A tweet with a still photo to celebrate a birthday after a defeat in a "meaningless bilateral T20 series" is acceptable, however, there a video celebration is unacceptable in such a scenario.
  5. The level of acceptable celebration must be re-evaluated following the outcome of each game depending on the tournament type, opposition and format of the game which is being played. Some experts believe that even the weather forecast, what day of the week it is and what side of the bed you got out of that morning can also play a key role in dictating which level of celebration is acceptable.

Again - if in doubt - please get in touch with one of your PP experts of which we (unfortunately) have many....

Don't mind players celebrating birthdays especially when they have bad day at work.

But don't like cake pasting on face. It's just waste of good cake. Unless players are dieting, then give the cake to staff. Just don't waste good cake. That's all. :inzi

He had a birthday, he is a young guy, his teammates did that for him, someone took a video....

Chill kee golee khalain please!

No problem in celebrates birthday but don't like cake pasting... Foods shouldn't be wasted...

A sporting loss is part of game as is victory. Life beyond sports goes on.

If anything is cringeworthy, its some of the comments in this thread.

A question to the people who are saying that the celebrations are pathetic etc etc. Do you guys go into hiding if you underperform a test or have a bad day at work? Life still goes on, isn’t it?

People are reacting like Pakistan has lost a WC final. It was a damn T20. And even if it was a wc final, still players are entitled to celebrate their birthdays, personal events etc.

If cricketers took defeats to heart and sat all depressed after losses, then they wouldn't be able to operate on a daily basis. Good that the boys are having a bit of fun. They needed it after that hammering :((

Pathetic. We got hammered today and this is what our cricketers are doing? Rubbing cake in each others faces. And then we wonder why Pakistan has fallen from grace.

If Dhoni can celebrate not being selected for India by distributing sweets (according to his biopic), this is still ok

Happy Birthday Hasan Ali, they should have gone out and celebrated bigger than this.

Some of the Experts here thinks Hasan should have hide his face in shame after losing to aus and forget about his Birthday....:sendoff

Saw some Hassans post on Instagram. No issue with him and the boys having fun.

Used to be a time when birthdays of Pakistani players came and went - nowadays it seems they are more important than the actual team results.

Lol, what should they do? mourn? Its not like they lost a WC final. Relax dude.

a lot of replies are un-necessary. It alright, its his day plus its the time of social media so you get to see such type of videos before there wasn't any medium to post otherwise we could seen a lot of funny stuff from 2W's time.

whenever I write 2Ws it reminds me of 2Mohammads(Amir & Asif) but then its a sad story.

How long does such a celebration last? 30min? 1hour?

There is no big deal in enjoying yourself irrespective of a bad outcome. Some of you guys are making it seem like as if somebody died and celebrations are forbidden.

Used to be a time when birthdays of Pakistani players came and went - nowadays it seems they are more important than the actual team results.

Perhaps they are enjoying a cake after hours of serious team meeting and discussion, who knows. We got Mickey as our coach so I am pretty confident he isn't going to allow the guys to feel too comfortable after a bad loss.

The moment I saw the thread title I thought it'd be people bashing the poor guy on his b day... then I was like "nah, it'll be fine"... boy was I wrong.

Guess he should sulk and return his golden ball award from last year, how dare he lose to mighty Finch and his followers.

Brilliant guide. Email this to Mickey please.

Imo it's his personal life. I don't care whether he celebrates his birthday or not as a Pakistan cricket fan I wanna see results on the field like we have done in the format in the last year or so but not like the game against Australia in which we got thrashed. I don't see how celebrating birthdays is unprofessional in any way as like I said it's personal life and even greats of the game like kohli and dhoni celebrate their birthdays. Yes it was on the day of a defeat but that doesn't mean that they should sit and be depressed about the defeat. C'mon guys let them have some fun. I'm sure they will bounce back from the defeat.

Hats off to Mickey and team management. The players are having fun and appear to like each other’s company which is so important.

Joke thread title and joke posts, team got hammered correct, does that mean they're not allowed celebrate a birthday or have a little fun?

Jesus, who'd wanna be a professional sportsperson with this sort of mentality among fans

People who are complaining are probably the ones least familiar with playing sports. It was a bad day at the office, move on, come back to fight another day. Sitting and sulking, or over-analyzing and stressing is a surefire way to let the same game beat you twice. What these guys are doing is actually going, taking a mental break and coming back the next day.

If only they had found a better way to unwind than this cake rubbing activity.

The players can celebrate any event. Your life doesn't stop just because there was a match lost.

Used to be a time when birthdays of Pakistani players came and went - nowadays it seems they are more important than the actual team results.

celebrating a birthday is actually a good thing.

Cricket is a team sport, and these celebrations help towards team building amongst the peers.

Nothing wrong in celebrating birthdays after a loss.

It's his birthday. Comes once a year. Wins and losses on the other hand come many times, and is part and parcel of being a professional sportsman. Let's not be overbearing as fans.

Absolutely agree man!

Thumbs down to all who have issue with Hasan celebrating his bday. They are in their 20s, work hard, represent their country and have every right to have some fun on their bdays. Who are we to judge how he celebrates his b'day. Happy bday Hasan, you are a very good bowler and good luck for the year.
