[VIDEO] "If batsmen had been sensible, used their brains, could've got 2 off last ball" : Sarfaraz

I think Moin and Sarfaraz should have had a quiet word with Mir Hamza in the dressing room in private and not done this in full glare of the tv cameras.

Saj emotions tend to flow with passionate players..not every individual can cope up with such habits. Its this emotional side of ours that brings cricket to another level in this country

Blaming Mir Hamzah for this is like blaming Allan Donald for the 1999 WC SF loss.

As a tailender he is not expected to fully know the nuances of running, backwards by up etc.

Blame the rest of the batting lineup who put QG ina position of needing 25 off the last over.

As a player you're expexted to backup during such moments. Just because he's a bowler doesnt take away the common sense of him when he's a batsman. Cmon yaar cant you see him jogginh leisurely in 1st run itself. Saying that i agree both batsmen should have discussed on what needs doing before that last ball

Upon closer inspection, I think Sarfi yelling is justified. Absolutely atrocious running. Must've thought he hit an easy four and won his team the game.

I fully agree with him, there´s no chance on earth that a dropped catch on the boundary shouldn´t have resulted in a couple, no way! But I´m really not liking Sarfraz´s reaction in the public. First he literally took down Hamza with his words on the boundary and then such a statement was uncalled for. You need to be able to control your emotions as a captain. He needs to develop some tolerance for his players. The more you chastise them like this the more fear these youngsters will develop of failure and hence more mistakes will happen.

Obviously, what kind of made the batsmen reluctant in their running was first the attention driven towards it going straight down to the throat of the fielder, and then of course the thought or hope that the misfield might or might already have rolled onto the fence. Either way, with three required of one, two to tie, your only focus should be to just run and run. I haven´t seen any video of the scenes surrounding the pitch, but the reactions suggest that Mir Hamza was the main culprit. Poor guy. He´ll learn of course. I feel for Dawson too who almost turned from Peshawar´s ultimate hero through his batting into a villain through his bowling. His bowling in the last over was, well, very poor.

But,... what hitting by Anwar Ali! A breath-taking assault that which could´ve been the ultimate heist in the history of the PSL, but sadly not to be. I watched the match as a neutral and just wanted a thriller for the passionate Lahore crowd, who didn´t get much of a contest in the final last year, so I had my wish fulfilled, but I cannot hide my grief for Quetta. They´ve now twice been unlucky in back to back seasons due to foreign players missing out on the big stage, and then to lose a nail-biter like this due to a stupid mistake must´ve hurd them badly. It would´ve been a great win with such a second string team. So I feel for them and I hope they find a solution next season to this problem of theirs - of foreign players pulling out of big matches held in Pakistan. One solution of course is to be smart at the auction.

Either way, well done to both the teams!

As a side note, just how lovely was the Tendulkar-like reception that Sammy got when he walked out to bat. Pakistan loves this man! He deserves it of course.

After seeing this video, I can't blame Sarfaraz. Pathetic running.

Oh´ my Lord! What pathetic running!

Yeah lets ignore the spectacular innings he played before that shot. I thought he was supposed to be specialist captain who can't bat or keep?

PP experts making logic on the fly and changing it as they deem fit.

Spectacular innings? He scored a solid 35, as did Nawaz (who is barely even a part time batsman lol). Sarfraz is in the side as a keeper bat, he is supposed to score 35 as a minimum. The issue is, 35 was not good enough and yet again, he failed to go beyond a good start and score substantial enough to lead his side to a win. I think he has only managed that once and it took him 5 innings to even get double figures.

Now, if he had been out there and gotten out to a peach of a delivery, then no problem. but in the moment he should have ducked, he went for a shot he had just seen his team mate get out to. He has done this almost every innings with a start. That shows a lack of maturity. I don't think I have ever doubted he has the ability, it is the mental fortitude missing.

Anwar Ali on the other hand, played an even more important innings, ravaged the bowling, hit 3 sixes in a row, maybe 4 can't remember, and almost had his side out if it was not for some bad running. The captain should have been tapping the two out there on the back for getting them this close, not ranting at them, in the dug out, on camera. Again, maturity is the word that comes to mind, or lack of.

Those who are mentioning Allan Donald incident and saying tailenders are not suppose to have this much knowledge have either been in coma since 1999 and suddenly woken up or have not watched much cricket at all. This is not 1999 these days every tailenders are required to be able to run as an absolute minimum. Absolutely pathetic running robbed Queta of a supper over and chance of victory.

As you said he done his job, last time I seen he was playing as a all-rounder and not lower order spin basher

All-rounders are allowed to bat according to the situation and not bowl their full quota in each game...I don't know on what planet they're not to or why out of all things you'd pick on that. Disturbing.

This is why Pakistan cricket has more drama in the eyes of the whole world than the rest.

Doesn't conflict occurs in other teams? Yes, may be more but rarely you'll see a captain blaming his teammate in public. And to my surprise, most Pakistan fan considers it as right call.

Whatever the issue was, should have been dealt inside the dressing room. What those two did was stupidity. But what sarafaraz did was unacceptable in terms of professionalism and leading the team from the front.

Because of non of you having a brain this is exactly what happens. We are used to seeing this for years as it happens internationally too for Pakistan.

Both do ball watching and then both being in the middle of the pitch look like dumbos.

This is where I stand on it.

The running was shambolic but you don't throw your guys under the bus in public like this.

Agree with you regarding emotions, but Moin and Sarfaraz are experienced cricketers, there is no excuse for having a go at the guy like that in front of the watching world.

Most posters on here know Mir Hamza is a first class bowler not a LO bowler. I haven't seen anyone calling for his selection other than Saj.

I think he's a very good bowler. He looked very good in England when touring with Pakistan A also.

His bowling is better than his running between the wickets :)

I don't think he is a bad bowler. Just not suited for T20s at all.
