[VIDEO] "If we go to India, then we must aim to win the World Cup there": Shaheen Shah Afridi

Shaheen Shah Afridi chats to Saj about advice from Shahid Afridi, life at Nottinghamshire, the art of captaincy, his hopes of winning the World Cup in India, challenge of playing all 3 formats for Pakistan, the turnaround at Lahore Qalandars in the last 2 seasons, looks back at 5 years in international cricket, Mickey Arthur’s return, his aim of winning a Test series in Australia and more.

1st aim SSA needs to have is to get back to 100% fitness. Also stop playing T20 leauge cricket and focus on the WC.

I really want Shaheen Shah Afridi to get some wickets and get his form back before the World Cup! Pakistan needs him to be on top

The guy has a lion heart!

Brilliant, this is what I want to hear, changed days from the meek and miserable Misbah days!

First concentrate on your pace and swing and then talk about winning World Cup , don’t forget Junaid khan

Yeah, the way you won semi against Australia with 3 wickets in 1 over.

But fail as usual in crucial matches like Babar. Our people should not allowed to talk on media.

Nice to chat with Shaheen.

He's a quiet, humble lad. No drama or controversy.

He seems switched on when it comes to captaincy and leadership.

No doubt, a future Pakistan captain.

One thing I like about him and is apparent from this interview is that he is not in the 'chichora' (jack the lad) mould - very serious about his game.

Am I the only not getting hyped about this statement? Somebody said he has a lion heart for this?

If you don't aim to win the world cup then what do you do in a world cup? I thought this was quite an obvious statement. No offence to SSA though. All he needs to do is work on his fitness and stop playing every league out there and up his pace and then Pakistan might actually have a chance to be at the top.

Watch the interview. He means business.

He's not ready yet but one day he is a serious captaincy contender IMO. Getting very good experience at LQ.

Wonderful bowler, Good spirited but soft spoken guy. If he gets the ball to dip in more often as well as get better at bowlign from round the wicket, he'll be lethal - not that he is not at the moment. Belongs to the rare breed of bowlers like jasprit, shami, umesh, malinga, wood, boult, cummins etc who do not go all out sledging like headless chooks, just a glare at the batsmen shows how good he is.

He's done pretty well for Nottinghamshire in the T20 Blast.

A key man for Pakistan's chances at the Asia Cup and the World Cup.

Sarfraz Nawaz on Shaheen Shah Afridi:

“He is an extraordinary bowler and very very lethal in his first two three overs. I have rarely seen a bowler with such control over swing, seam and pace and yorkers with the new ball"

Fully expect Shaheen to be one of the stars of the World Cup.

If he's at the top of his game, Pakistan has a very good chance at the tournament.
