The Defence police have lodged a criminal case against four girl students of a private school for allegedly torturing their class fellow.

The police acted when a video clip of the alleged torture of a girl (A) by her four class fellows went viral on social media.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father Imran Younis, who stated that his daughter was studying in the American International School located in BB Block of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA). He alleged that one of the four girls involved in the attack was carrying a dagger.

The group of girls dragged ‘A’ on the ground by her hair, sat on her back and subjected her to inhuman torture, he alleged.

Imran said one of the girls was a boxer who hit his daughter in her face while another kicked her, causing injuries to her face. Another girl tried to strangulate his daughter, he said, adding that the video clip was sufficient evidence to initiate legal action against the attackers.

He said his daughter was traumatised following the attack and the video clip caused further mental torture to him and his family.

About motive of the assault on his daughter, he alleged in the FIR that the prime suspect was a drug addict, who “ had offered my daughter a dose of drug to inhale in the school, which she refused to do“.

He added that his daughter had also recorded a video of her class fellow taking drugs in the school.

“Later, she (A) showed me the clip that I shared with the father of that girl (prime suspect)”, Imran said, adding that the suspects had been nurturing a grudged against his daughter since then and planned assault on her.

He further alleged in the FIR that the attackers also snatched a gold chain and a locket from his daughter during the attack.

He said that he also approached the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for action against those who uploaded the video clip of the assault on her daughter on social media.

Several months back, the girls version of my old school attacked each other with baseball bats and hockey sticks on a public road. Also recorded and egged on by boys from the boys' school.

When I was in school, this happened occasionally among boys. The girls just stuck to pulling each other's hair. But now the girls don't want to be left out of the fun

What was so saddening is the way people were videoing it and also the casual way the rest of the girls were hanging about.

I find it miserable to see the one recording the video laughing as if its a joke. Even they should be booked in abbetment not just the perpetuators.

A Lahore sessions court on Saturday granted pre-arrest bail to three schoolgirls nominated in a police complaint for allegedly torturing their class fellow at a private school in the city.

A video clip of the alleged torture, doing the rounds on social media, showed a group of four girls punching and kicking another girl.

On Friday, a first information report was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father Imran Younis, who stated that his daughter was studying in the American International School located in BB Block of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The complainant claimed in the FIR — a copy of which is available with Dawn.com — that the prime suspect was a drug addict, who “had offered my daughter a dose of a drug to inhale in the school, which she refused to do, and as a result, she was badly tortured”.

In the latest development today, Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhry Zafar Iqbal took up the bail plea filed by three of the suspects.

Advocate Mian Rab Nawaz, who appeared on behalf of the three girls, claimed that the victim was a drug addict herself and wanted to engage his clients in the illegal act.

“My clients are being implicated falsely,” the counsel maintained.

Nawaz added that his clients were ready to cooperate with the authorities in the investigation.

After listening to the arguments, the judge granted pre-arrest bail to three girls against surety bonds worth Rs50,000 each and barred authorities from arresting the petitioners until Jan 30.

An additional district and sessions Judge (AD&SJ) granted interim bail to three schoolgirls until January 30th. The girls were involved in torturing their classmate at a private school in the defence area.

AD&SJ Chaudhry Zafar Iqbal presided over the proceedings on the bail applications of the suspects on Saturday. The petitioners’ counsel argued before the court that police registered a false and fabricated a case against his clients. He added that his clients wanted to join the investigations to prove their innocence and pleaded before the court to grant bail to his clients.

Got a video fwded to me, an interview by the victims dad. He claims she snitched on these girls and a few boys who were making the video because they would do drugs on the cafeteria. The principal deleted video footages of the incident and requested him to let it go because they are all kids of powerful mafiosos.

its part of the bullying, the videos go around social media to keep the circle of bullying going long after the act is over.

when i was in school videos would go around by Bluetooth, some videos got around to me in which i even knew the ppl but it was rare that the videos went beyond the local area. now theres a global audience for this rubbish.

bullying is horrid, but girls especially know what kinda of impact recording this and sharing it will have on the victim who will likely be ostracised by other girls.
