I am surprised no one has covered this. He has mentioned this on 2-3 talk shows that they have someone they have discovered via their Players Development Program of which Aqib Javed is in charge. This bowler is very raw right now who needs help with his fitness, conditioning and nutrition but he has been clocked at 155 km/hr. He claimed that the bowler had every potential to break Akhtar's record.

He also suggested to all scouts and youngsters that if they know someone who is really talented to post their videos on LQ's Facebook pages

He also talked about their High Performance Academy and the new technology and programs they have there.

I wonder if someone will be able to dig deeper to find out about this player

Credit is due, and should be given to Lahore Qalanders for trying to develop young bowlers through their initiatives. Not only are they finding these guys, but they are setting up professional connections in the system by sending them over to Australia, and getting them to train with BBL teams over there.

Excited for another pacer: :aag

We have had a few of these claims from LQ in the past.

If this were any other franchise, I'd say it's a load of rubbish.

LQ is the only franchise I know of that takes pride in unearthing raw talent.

We've got Haris Rauf clocking 150kph on a good day, so I wouldn't dismiss this just yet. Perhaps the player also doesn't want their identity revealed at a young age to avoid attention.

Nobody really knew much of Haris Rauf until he started playing in the BBL.

Not when it comes to LQ!

They've actually unearthed some raw talent and we have seen guys like Haris and Dilbar as an example, who are quick.

I wouldn't doubt LQ and their scouting system.

I think he's talking about Zahid. They gave him a debut in T10, he's fast but sprayed the ball a lot. Not sure about his exact pace though.

People still falling for such claims?

LQ made similar claims about harris rauf, but Harris rauf wasnt a 150kph bowler. He trained and worked that helped him in getting pace.

Lq might have discovered some talented bowlers, but they often exaggerate the paces of such bowlers.

Yasir jan was an example, he wasnt that much pacey all he did was bowl with both arms.

Im actually happy for yasir jan that he got to go abroad and hopefully got some club stints.

He was from my club, and he wasnt that much express pace that lq boosted. But he came from a very poor background and was ill mannered and would had been difficilt for him to make a career outside of cricket due to the lack of education and enviroment he grewed up in.

LQ was able to market him as th next big thing, but i really hope he was able settle in UK and be anle to earn money in the clubs stints there. I bet he would be make more money with those club stints in uk than he was by working in the mandis of rawalpindi

Whether that talent makes it to the top is a completely different topic, the question is, have they really found a bowler that can bowl 155kph?

They didn’t lie about finding a 7ft bowler, because he was 7ft.

What happened to that 7ft bowler? They said they will only introduce him once they help him with his fitness, nutrition and strength, conditioning and get his pace up to 140 km/hr plus atleast because he had mostly just bowled spin and had only recently taken up pace bowling. Its been 2 years now i think but no news of the guy

He was not a cricketer. He played it as hobby. He has given interviews with urdupoint, i think he has some health issues maybe.

Asked LQ for details of this.

No response as yet.

Haris clocked 149kph in the talent hunt trials.
