[VIDEO] "Misbah & Younis - they'd be first out to practice, and last off the field": Julien Fountain

Really enjoyed the what cricket can learn from baseball segment. If Pakistan Cricket had the same professional environment, sporting culture and intensity of Baseball in the US, we would be unbeatable.

Julien Fountain was probably instrumental in getting a more professional approach in our fielding/fitness - Not sure how he would have worked with the likes of Azam and Sharjeel.

Steve Rixon was the best fielding coach for Pak.

Interesting what he said about PJL and how coaches from around the world thought it was a great idea, but obviously not the current PCB regime.

Not surprised. Two of the hardest working pro’s in Pak cricket history, surely up there.

Biggest question is who was the first to breakfast and last one out :yk

It was flawed. Even the Rameez run PCB failed to form the initial PJL. The initial PJL was to be a franchise based one which was not gonna provide any benefit to any franchise owner and would had made losses.

At the last minute PCB ran a PJL which was costing them alot of money and making them very little. And out of what 100 youngsters, only getting what 1 or 2 guys who were worth it.

PJL can be ran, but through departments. Will provide security to the players aswell if they get jobs and can play cricket aswell.

No surprise regarding Younis Khan and Misbah ul Haq.

True professionals who even towards the end of their international careers were super fit and great fielders.

Both were what so many of our young guys should look to when it comes to fitness, looking after yourself and fielding standards.

Wonder how Julien would have dealt with the like of Azam and Sharjeel? Given the level of professionalism he expects, cannot see him being pleased with these guys.

Don't forget some players have links to senior officials in the PCB and even above the PCB.

It's not uncommon for players in the past to have opted out of training and fitness sessions after a senior official has told the fielding coach that some players don't feel up to training that particular day.

.

most people in pakistan have no idea what those words mean sadly. more professionalism in all walks of life could solve a lot of problems in our country

That's the point.

Many want to get through their careers, make a bit of money, without having to work on aspects such as fielding.

Misbah has his critics, but he was a true professional as a player and someone who was a very good ambassador for his country.

Misbah took over the captaincy of Test cricket when we were in the midst of a deep corruption crisis.
