So he wanted to drop sharjeel by getting out in a similar manner. What about his friend hafeez who kept getting out in slip. Hoping for a 3-0 yo Sri Lanka and a complete destruction against Australia so we can get rid of misbah.
Afridi should be appointed head coach + chief selector
Dont want to use harsh words for YouSo he wanted to drop sharjeel by getting out in a similar manner. What about his friend hafeez who kept getting out in slip. Hoping for a 3-0 yo Sri Lanka and a complete destruction against Australia so we can get rid of misbah.

Misbah's full reply to the question:
"Our players are often ready to put things on others. I don't remember ever telling any player to play in a specific way according to my instructions. I remember that Sharjeel Khan got out 2-3 times playing a sweep shot in PSL. I told him that next time you hit that shot, I will ask you about it. I told him if he goes for a six and gets caught at the boundary, that's his strength so it's acceptable. But if he plays this shot which is not his strong shot then I will drop him from the team. So my thoughts are clear on this, players should play according to their natural instincts and you shouldn't try to change that, and that is what they will be successful with. So I encourage players to play their own game" "
Misbah smartly deflected the question by making it into a joke, instead of dealing with the facts.
Check post #2 for the complete response.
According to Misbah:
I don't remember ever telling any player to play in a specific way according to my instructions.
Also according to Misbah:
But if he plays this shot which is not his strong shot then I will drop him from the team.
Clear difference between the two scenarios.
Telling players to play in a specific way = curbing their instincts, urging them to be defensive.
In the latter scenario, he is basically urging the batsman not to play low percentage shots which is good advice.
This 'urging players to be defensive' idea mainly comes from seeing the SR of the likes of Ahmed Shehzad, who is just a poor batsman rather than a good batsman who became too defensive.
Alongside this, the question was a stupid one because the reporter was using scores in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy as an example, disregarding context, conditions, etc. and somehow connecting it with Misbah just to push the tuk-tuk angle.
The reporter brought up a legitimate concern among a lot of fans about Misbah's defensive style, most infamously his own batting against India in Mohali, never mind his strategy as captain in Australia.
To have everyone laughing as if this was such an absurd question just shows how much the press are eating our of his hands.
A bit OT, but having watched several press conferences now with Imran and foreign leaders, I've realized that a great deal of the the members of our press are outright morons.
Stupid questions are the norm in press conferences... there were two more in this Misbah press conference alone.

One wonders how some of these people get accreditation from PCB.
Forget the PCB...how do these individuals get jobs at these channels? And how do the channels keep running with such poor reporting?
It's who you know, not what you know.
Having seen some of these guys covering tournaments, nothing surprises me any more.

"The board has introduced a very good points system which rewards players. So there are batting points up for grabs, so batsmen can improvise even in the 4 day game and make a match out of it, and try and get targets like the one in 110 overs so that their batting improves according to international standards which are also changing (towards a more fast-paced game)"
I loved the video and love misbah but this is slightly concerning.
I would rather Babar got better at playing the ( paddle) sweep as it will make him so much more difficult to control in the middle of a one day innings.
I would rather he tried to play it and improve, rather than totally put it away, out of fear of being dropped
