What's new

[VIDEO] New Zealand strongly placed on 286/3 at Stumps on Day 2 of the 2nd Test against Pakistan

Our bowling is shambolic. Even Shaheen just is just good right now, not great.

Abbas is toothless. Naseem has been told to bowl line and length and cut down on his greatest weapon, pace and the short ball.

Should bring on Zafar soon and bring some catchers nearby.

Spinners need to be supported with fielders nearby for them to succeed. Look at Ashwin against Australia.

Camera switching to the commentators that's how boring the Pakistani bowlers have made it. Newzealand can easily up the runrate here. They are just being extra cautious.

How I wish we could see something like this on this pitch:

Haris Rauf
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Dilbar
Naseem Shah

What's this part of the game is doing is making the players in the dug out comfortable. They are gearing up to a big score here.

Whoever told Naseem to bowl line and length needs to get their brain checked. You have Faheem, Shaheen, and Abbas bowling line/lenght, so why have him bowl the same? Such a one dimensional bowling attack.

How I wish we could see something like this on this pitch:

Haris Rauf
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Dilbar
Naseem Shah

Dilbar wouldn't do any better than Faheem, he only knows how to bowl slower slow balls
Haris rauf would do as good as naseem

What we need is ehsan adil on the pitch to these openers

Except for Shaheen most of them are overrated. If even Shaheen is struggling then what could others have done here.

Not sure if senior FC performers like Tabish, Sohail could have done different considering they do swing the ball.

Rizwan has to come up to stumps to faheem and abbas surely these.kiwis are standing half way down the pitch

They should have told Abbas to work on his pace or he doesn't get to play

Don't know wht he is so resistant to come up to the stumps. Even if a catch goes down, LBW and bowled comes into play.

When ever i see Misbah it boils my 🩸

But Misbah has installed a batting discipline in Test side. They might not be eye catching but resilient. I can bet Arthur’s team won’t have saved Southampton Test, neither would have taken the first Test to 25 minuets of saving.

In Misbah era we only knew how to save test but never knew how to win it.

Its sad to see a young bowlers like Shaheen should have said give me the ball captain. That burning desire is missing here, Amir Asif and Even Sami they were brilliant when it comes to the attitude.

We struggled quite a lot in Australia where bounce was the variable that needed to be exploited instead of movement. The squares are hard and scoring rates high.

Struggling here and likely to do so unless one or more gets some movement. Most of the movement in the air has been after the ball has gone past the stumps.

Have a bad feeling about today.

Think we will get murdered by NZ batsmen.

These bowlers are supposed to become world beaters by the end of 2021?

He won 26 Tests as Captain though. He new how to play attritional cricket and picked players for that, which suited UAE tracks.... but credit should be given where is due. Misbah’s team (under his coaching) might not win many Tests, main reason is bowling, not batting.

Faheem is threatening Blundell. 50 partnership up. Game is slipping away.

Before lunch, PAK should give Shaheen 3 overs spell - he spurred the new ball and this ball is getting older. First wicket down.

If this had gone above the stumps, it would have been Rizwan’s poor captaincy that would have cost us. He should have come up the stumps for Faheem and Abbas to avoid them from pulling their lengths back.

Faheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeem!

Breaks the shackles. Dude was called mediocre, the worst cricketer since time immemorial, a disgrace to the Pakistan jersey, a no hoper that was well out of his depth and lot lot worse.

Pretty damning that our fast bowlers flopped in England and now in NZ.

What does Waqar do exactly? Because Shaheen only looks good with the new ball, Abbas has gone backwards and Naseem has lost yards of the pace he had before he got into the side.

When someone gets hired, they want people they can trust by them so it lowers their chances of getting fired.

Hence, the Misbah/Waqar combo being so prevelant over the last decade in PAK cricket.

Australia too... I think Waqar was in charge.
