UEFA I believe began a campaign to punish teams with Racist/Abusive fans

This is clear evidence including all that took place in 2019 and the T20 World Cup

ICC must intervene and do something about this. Our beautiful sport is being tarnished by these Savage fans of Afghanistan

And some people want Afghanistan to tour Pakistan ?

Afghan fans are now serial offenders. Disgraceful scenes - UEFA have banned fans from grounds for misbehaving during matches in Europe. It's time ICC or ACC takes similar action.

Poor and shocking behavior. I don't think they can get away with this type of behavior in UAE.

Gulf states are very quick to punish and deport.

What is ICC going to do about this?

Nothing I tell you!

Awful scenes once again from Afghan fans.

Letting themselves, their country and their cricketers down.

Can someone please tag Pakistani cricketers on twitter/fb/YT with the video?

Afridi, Shoaib , etc will not tolerate this moving forward.

where did i defend this behavior?

As I said, out of 100 there will be 5 who will act bad which should be condemned.

This is just like me making a post that oh look the terrorist was a Muslim and I go criticizing all Muslims because of few bad apples.

What some of the Afghan fans did was wrong, but looking at the pakistani posters on social media and everywhere else, they are using these events to let out their hatred and racism against Afghans. Alot of people who were closet racists towards Afghans have started to come out.

Its not as if people are condemning the few bad apples, alot of Pakistanis on social media are now generalizing as whole against them.

Condemn the few, but dont insult the nation and its lovely people

Shoaib Akhtar posted this video right after game ended:

If/when Pakistan lose a game against Afghanistan... then maybe then their emotional man-children may start acting like adults.

Says the guy who has spent a whole waking day spreading propaganda that Pakistanis are racist towards Afghans.

Don't you think it applies both ways?

You can go around the threads and see the words that were being used today. Some terms like Namaak Haraams, ehsan Farmosh were being freely used against them. Many of our closet racists came out today.

Fans of both sides have such lunatics. But the issue is while you all are ready to bash the Afghan fans, no one is talking about the free use of racism by Pakistani fans on social media.

When will the ICC react?

When some fan is killed or permanently injured due to the barbaric actions of savage Afghan fans??

Major

Can you please post a video of Pakistani fans instigating this? There has to be one somewhere, right?

not even that, he doesnt have to show pakistani fans instigating this, he just has to show a video of pakistani fan starting trouble with any afghan fans over the yrs we've played = which he can't.

He say the same thing - dont blame the entire people of a small inicident - but then goes missing saying that why are pakistani fans are like this in the typical generalised way.

He wont come into this thread.

such behaviour should be dealt with a life time ban in all stadiums across the world + money fine/ community service/ prison if it leads to physical damage . tackle it hard- asap, for any fan across the world

Should be some sanctions tomorrow.

This is a big possibility with how savage they are behaving. Horrifying thought.

Happens in every single game against Pakistan. Doesn’t happen against Indians does it?

Not like the Muslim terrorist thing you’ve implied, this happens after EVERY Pakistan Afghan game. They lunatics.

Afghan india are not rivals. They are more friendly nature like we are with the lankans

Pathetic but not surprising.

They should have been given a phainta.

Afghan india are not rivals. They are more friendly nature like we are with the lankans

Theres no reason to behave like this Its shambolic behaviour by their fans once again

Absolutely pathetic

The thread title really doesn't even come close. These are despicable scenes. Absolutely disgraceful.

I would have thought there'd be security to the brim in this game but it looks like innocent Pakistan fans were left exposed for at least the 3rd time now. Questions need to be asked about that too.

This guys twitter handle is filled with anti Pakistan posts. He supported the bowler in the fight with Asif.

Hearing reports that the UAE police is in action and arresting Afghans left right and center.

UAE will not allow this nonsense to continue esp after last year.

These fans are utterly stupid, they will be back in Afghanistan not earning anything to feed their families just because of a cricket match.

ICC is toothless. UAE should jail them for a few months , then deport to Kabul. Lets remember these are the guys who ran while their country was under occupation and other Afghans were fighting the invaders. Returning to Afghanistan may cost them their lives now.

Passions are high which is a good thing for developing cricket in Afghanistan. Talent is also coming through. But it will take some more time before they can consistently challenge the big boys. But one thing is for sure, no one will take Afghans lightly anymore.

Hope the passions are controlled once the match is done. Attacking other fans is deplorable. Everyone is out there to have good time.

Pakistan should strongly protest with the organizers and ensure next time Pakistani fans dont sit next to these people

Akhtar's wording was maybe not good and he shouldn't have waded in but that reply from someone in authority is disgraceful. How can you defend something like that and call it 'emotional' - beggars belief.

I agree with the other poster that the entire nation should not be blame but this unfortunately keeps on happening. If it wasn't for Sharjah in 2021 WC then same hooligans were present in Headingly in 2019 World cup game as well. Absolutely pathetic scenes.

Well said he should first and foremost condemn the actions of these fans before any other comment a serious head injury or back injury could happen the guy and others should take action for the blatant assaults which took place.

I absolutely love Afghan cricket, and really excited to see what they can become in the near future.

However, this needs addressing. You have to be seriously sick in the head to have your frustrations over a good game of cricket manifest in physical assualt. Forget throwing hands, throwing around chairs at peeps who seemed like they didn't want any part of it or could have been family peeps? Shockingly dishonorable.

Obviously, these were the actions of only a few fans and most fans aren't as idiotic. But the hesitation to generalize shouldn't prevent this from being addressed before a kid or elder gets seriously injured on either side. I can sympathise there are some vent up frustrations in some people, but a random cricketing crowd isn't the best outlet.

This guy can't even write proper English..he should stay away from tweeter

Afghan fans responsible should be deported back to that war zone next door. This thuggish behavior is totally unacceptable by a bunch of wannabe's. Even in Indo-Pak matches such things are rarely seen then there is no reason why Pak should tolerate this from a third class side. Afghan's are not and never were my brothers and sisters so please stop this siblings rubbish.

Losing repeatedly to us in close matches does not merit such awful behaviour where ladies and kids are also in the ground. Only way is to teach illiterate Afghan's a lesson is by throwing them out of the UAE in massive numbers. I am sure the UAE police will have taken note of the faces who were responsible. It greatly spoils the peaceful image of the UAE too.

It was divine justice seeing their fans and players crying like babies at the end. You all deserve it....hahahaha:inzi2 Surely Asif raised his bat at that nobody bowler for some reason. Naseem Shah's reaction after hitting the winning runs also told a story. Now they and India can get on that flight back home:yuvi Get out!

Akhtar's wording was maybe not good and he shouldn't have waded in but that reply from someone in authority is disgraceful. How can you defend something like that and call it 'emotional' - beggars belief.

He is talking about Inzi jumping into the crowd to beat up an Indian fan but why bring up Rashid Latif ?.

lol Shoaib Akhtar once again getting owned is nice to see.

Akhtar was spot on, they guy who replied has no clue what he is saying. He is defending vandalism of his people in the stadium. It is similar to any Indian supporting the people who set spectators area on fire during 96 WC. I haven't seen any of the indians defending that horrible and shameful act.

It’s not like it’s an issue only in UAE , the issue occurred in England as well, also somehow they never come out as families?

I saw a some tweet fro a PCT tan about Indian fans being like that but i don’t recall India -Pakistan fans fighting like that at all.

That one tweet you saw was an anomaly and that person is an idiot. Indians and Pakistanis are blood and cultural brothers. I live outside and i love indians. They are awesome people. Hell, my gf is an indian!

Tearing out chairs and starting fights, reminds me of English football fans in the 1980s.

The miracle is these Afghans are doing it without a drop of alcohol in the system.

animals.. thts the word... seen them push-punch kids and women outside Headingly stadium in 2019 world cup .... and now this ...

they gang-up and turned to violence but then when Pakistanies gave them taste of their own medicine, they ran like rats....

shameless .. abs shameless

Indian fans are much much much better... i love to watch the game with them ... banter is there ... but mutual respect is there too...

dont want to even be in the stand with these animals going forward

I’ve been in the crowd in India Pakistan games and nothing even remotely close to this happens. There is just friendly rivalry and actually, both sets of fans enjoy the banter. I’m very comfortable bringing family to a India Pakistan game. I am not so comfortable doing so when Afghanistan is playing.

i have seen

CT-17 Group Game
CT-17 Final

T20-WC-Group Game

and its abs amazing ... had a lot of fun with the indian fans .... worst r Afg..then Bang...

It is bizarre. I have been to a few Pakistan v India games in my life and the crowd has always been in great spirits regardless of who has won with both sets of fans just enjoying the game with a bit of banter, having fun and then going home at the end with their dignity.

These Afghanistan fans don't seem to understand this. As I said in one of the other threads, they are still too immature. Have a lot of learning and growing to do.

I won't judge them too harshly though. I mean, we've all had our moments. Pakistan fans in England used to run on the pitch and disrupt matches in the 90s/early 2000s. We saw what happened in India in the 1996 world cup semi final. England football hooligans are known worldwide. But they need to learn that this kind of jahil behaviour is not doing them any favours at all.

Are they humans or animals? What a shameless bunch of idiots. This is exactly why I never ever support Afghanistan although I'm generally a big fan of smaller cricketing nations.

Afghanistan should be banned for such fan behavior. This is beyond disgusting. Shame on the ICC if they don't take action after this.

That is probably the only good thing to come out of this mess is that it took place in the UAE, where they won't tolerate jahil behaviour like they would in the UK. These guys might come from lawless wastelands back in Afghanistan, but when they are abroad they need to treat their hosts guests and property with respect.

Despicable behaviour. Casually tossing chairs on fans . Like what the actual hell? That too in Dubai of all places . These guys are way too insensitive and reactionary. You lose, people are gonna troll you. Heck, people are gonna troll you anyway. Doesn't give you the right to get violent.

I seriously question the mental state of these people they are the same one who were riding on plane wings to fly For USA

Where was the police especially at scenes from outside the stadium?

Where was the police especially at scenes from outside the stadium?

As always, underestimating the threat of these matches.

Maybe they will only wake up and care if a Pakistani fan, woman or child is seriously injured

Following the incident, PCB raised serious concerns and decided to go to ICC and ACC to highlight this issue.

"Due to such repeated incidents involving Afghanistan fans, PCB will take a strong stance in ICC and ACC. We care about our fans and we will do every possible thing we could," a source from PCB said.

Initially, PCB will write a letter to ICC, ACC and Sharjah Cricket Council in this regard.

PCB need to be a lot more vocal on this, enough is enough now. Not only should they be pressuring the ACC and ICC to take firm action against the Afghan hooligan element, they should also be asking questions of the safety measures in UAE. It may well be that the Afghans were rounded up and jailed/deported, but we need confirmation of this.

Generalizing because the same thing happened in the UK andhas happened twice in the UAE. Its not right to say all are bad but this is becoming a pattern.

Two killed as Pakistan cricket fans celebrate beating Afghanistan in match marred by huge riots by letting off rifles

TWO Pakistan cricket fans were killed as rifles were let off in celebration of their victory over Afghanistan - which saw riots break out between supporters.

Supporters in Pakistan's Peshawar were celebrating reaching the Asia Cup final after their T20 victory at the Sharjah International Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.

A dramatic ending to the match saw Pakistan qualify for Sunday's showpiece by one wicket in the last over, and they will now face Sri Lanka for the trophy.

According to Geo Live, fans rejoicing on the streets of Pakistan fired shots into the air to celebrate and left two people dead.

The report claims that a further three women were injured in the devastating accident.

It has been said that 41 people have been arrested by the police for their involvement in the incident.

Meanwhile Pakistan's victory over Afghanistan descended into chaos in the UAE as fans came to blows following the match.

In shocking scenes, Afghanistan supporters could be seen taking out chairs and hurling them at Pakistan fans, who in turn tossed them back.

The footage revealed that one of the unarmed Pakistani fans was hit on his back multiple times with a chair.

Afghan spectators were seen trying to pacify the situation by snatching chairs from their fellow fans and trying to make them calm down.

Former Pakistan star Shoaib Akhtar slammed Afghan fans on social media, where he urged former Afghanistan Cricket Board chief executive Shafiq Stanikzai to learn from the incident.

He tweeted: "This is what Afghan fans are doing.

"This is what they've done in the past multiple times.

"This is a game and it's supposed to be played and taken in the right spirit.

"Shafiq Stanikzai your crowd & your players both need to learn a few things if you guys want to grow in the sport."

Along with attacks inside the ground, clips online have showed both sets of supporters engaging in brawls outside of the stadium.

3/3 times we have played afghanistan in a neutral venue this has happened. Thats a 100% record. There is no comparison.

I can't believe some people are trying to justify Afghanistan player's behaviour on the pitch, and their fans in the stand. Afghani fans were aggressive at the WC in England too. Ban the lot. Plus I do not see any Afghan player condemning these actions.

As far as I am concerned, Pakistan, more specifically, Naseem Shah, defeated 2 hostile nations towards Pakistan which each 6 - Afghanistan, and India. A night etched in our memories.

Deport the Afghani thugs back to their warzone, or India - let them take their pick.

Could not have said it any better

I think that is the most disappointing aspect. Many of these players honed their crafts in Pakistan first class cricket while their country was being bombed to rubble by the Allies.

They would surely have a big influence on their fans if they condemned their rotten behaviour, but their silence means they are complicit. Very disappointing, and doesn't reflect well on them or their country.

The only way to stop this sort of behaviour is to punish the team and that is to ban them from tournaments.

That's the only way this lot will learn to behave.

Behavior of the players is definitely the board's responsibility, however the crowd behavior is a local law & order matter. So this needs to be taken up with the organizers and local police etc. In this age of cameras there is no reason the police can't catch the rioters afterwards. Especially in a place like UAE where law enforcement is very strict. A few deported foreign workers will bring everyone back in line.

Well said. You are close to cricket world - I hope you tell some people this. There needs to be some action. Minimum is reduce the # of ticket sales to Afghan fans and also put them in only one part of the ground. Have strict instructions to ground staff that any flag outside the designated area should be removed along with the fan. Are we going to wait till they kill someone like football did in the 80s to do something?

Why ban a team when the fans are the issue? Unless the team is paying the fans to brawl, this makes no sense.

The brawlers should be arrested and permanently banned from the stadium. That is the maximum ICC and UAE cricket board can do.

In football, when fans misbehave, teams get sanctions such as hefty fines and being forced to play without fans. When the ICC going to start doing that?

These jahil Afghanistan fans don't belong in a civilised society let alone a cricket match, where you have little kids. Honestly, I would ban Afghanistan team from participating in tournaments until their jahil fans learn to behave properly.

So basically never go with your family to the stadium to watch a Pakistan-Afghanistan match. They need to stop this now before someone gets seriously hurt.

Just imagine your kids getting caught in between these clowns.

Once can be written off, but this seems to be a regular occurrence.

Ban afganistan from the 2022 T20 WC. Otherwise these janglies will never learn
