Virender Sehwag speaking in a video interview:

"I think we were playing a Test match in Bangalore. I was in very good form in that series"

"I made 201 in the first innings, I was batting and Inzi was standing in the slips, Kamran Akmal was the keeper"

"The batting went on for long so long off, long on, mid wicket were all in place. Danish Kaneria was bowling on the pads"

"So I told Inzi bhai, call the long on up. He asked why, I said I want to hit a six. He laughed and said you're kidding, I said no, I'm not, call him up for a ball and if I don't hit a six, send him back"

"So he called the long on to mid on, Kaneria bowled and I hit a six and then he sent him back"

"Kaneria got really angry saying Inzi bhai, why did you call him up? He replied 'Tu bowl kar' (You just bowl)"

Sachin Tendulkar

"Inzi was very calm, he never got angry"

"We never really talked that much, Inzi anyway talked less. For me a memorable experience was when we were in Pakistan. We had a practice session in Lahore. Their session was finishing and ours was starting"

"Before we began, Inzi brought his son there with him. He said 'He's a big fan, he wants to meet you'. He made me meet his son"

"I still remember, whenever I used to speak with Inzi, he was very respectful. We started out careers at the same time more or less. He started in 91/92 and I started around that period, 89. So we had a good relationship"

"With the kind of rivalry we had, Inzi was the Pakistan captain. To say something like this to a player from the other team takes a lot"

Endless fun based upon Inzi jokes it seems!

Sehwag has always some cool stories to share to show off how alpha he is.

Cannot forget that Test. India would have most likely drawn or won that test but for Gambho running out Sehwag. He was in a different planet compared to Sachin/Dravid in that Test.

And right after he got out we played for a draw. Every single one of them got out after defending dozens of deliveries, was never going to work.

One of our greatest wins. Sami Kaneria and Afridi were amazing.

Pitch was a minefield. Out of form Ganguly normally a good player of spin looked like a fish out of water. Every ball was an ordeal for him. Afridi was the most dangerous bowler that day. He just had to bowl. Pitch did the rest. This is why Sehwag is always a special talent. On minefields he bats like he plays on a patta wicket.

Younis khan really gave hard time. He was sweeping pretty much every length Kumble attempted. He could shut his eyes and sweept bowlers well infront of the wicket. He kept sending the ball to infront of square leg. Ganguly did not have the basic sense of employing the right field. But biggest turning point was Gambhir running out Sehwag. It was like climate change after that.

An unforgettable Test for Pakistan. Sehwag was the most feared batsman for us during this period of regular India-Pakistan series, his wicket was always prized.

Still remember our winning wicket when Balaji's cap was knocked off.

Which game are they talking about. Can you share the scorecard?

He makes up a lot of stories for attention.

As you get older you embellish or make up stories. I see that in real life. Some of my friends share stories that were factually untrue. Just to get some FB likes they do that lol . Sometimes they go extra length to create a beggar that they never met, story that the fake beggar never shared, sympathy that he never had for that fake beggar. It is just comical. May be it happened. I do see Sehwag talking to umpires, opponents all the time jokingly. Probably Inzi laughed off. Later on he changed the field for some other reason. Probably he has turned a coincidence into a real story.

sehwag is India's response to Afridi in the tongue wagging contest..

and then Rashid Latif is Pakistan's response to shewag.

Yah, only one averages near-50 in test cricket.

Imran in his last 10 years of international cricket he played 51 Tests, averaging a sensational 50 with the bat and 19 with the ball.

there really isnt any comparison between IK and Sehwag even from a cricketing perspective (let alone overall) and you know it

Scoring a sensational 5 centuries over those 10 years.

As a cricketer, Imran is obviously ahead, but let's not pretend that they can't even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Afridi is neither a pathological liar nor use disgusting language in front of national television for other nations.

WC quarterfinals 2003. Afridi while bowling said something to umpire that cannot be reproduced here or any other civil forum.

Some might say this was silly captaincy by Inzamam but Sehwag could have easily made a fool of himself trying to hit that for six.

Imran > Sachin > Inzamam > Sehwag. As long as everyone realizes this reality and hierarchy, you can fill a hundred pages with the words "Imran and Sehwag".

How about no.

Sachin > Imran > Sehwag > Inzamam.

Also known as the most misleading stat in the history of cricket.

Considering Sehwag's Tendulkar-Akhtar story seemed to be made up. Who knows how true this is? Funny little story nonetheless.

The main elements of the story are 1) SRT hit a six of Akhtar 2) Sehwag told Akhtar "beta beta...". These are quite possibly true, though the surrounding events (scores etc.) may have happened at another time.
