Like him or hate him, fact is that ZAB had a charisma which I havent seen in ANY Pak leader!

Charismatic leaders don’t often translate to effective. Bhutto, Reagan, and Hitler.

Yeah I've seen this interview before. Note the passive aggressive way he abruptly ends the interview and wishes Britain a merry christmas after bashing them for selling arms to India in the war :))

I feel homesick watching the videos from 60s and 70s. Hirsute men with baritone voice cutting through your soul. So pleasing just to hear the two men talk to each other.

Rather than strengthening and investing authority in the formal structures of the PPP, Bhutto chose instead to ensure that authority flowed from himself and that personal connections with Bhutto himself were what really mattered. Ultimately he was the dispenser of rewards, he was the fountainhead. Party programme and party structures were in the end subservient to him and his ideas, often much to the frustration of the left wing of his party. He worked hard, for instance, in co-opting the rural elite despite radical pronouncements on land reform. This had the effect of diluting the focus of the party programme and inducing factionalism within the party. Perhaps, he felt that his ability to move the masses through his emotional rhetoric and charismatic appeal, meant he could always count on the people and did not require a strong party organisation. If this is so, then indeed his charisma was part of the problem, feeding Bhutto’s megalomania and in he end blunting the PPP as an agent of radical change.

Being a basngladeshi.do you feel zulfiqar was the man who could have been trusted?

Bhuttos,Gandhis,Shariffs,Rehmans and countless other ruling parties of Desi Land, our people just cannot get rid of the monarchical mentality its either that or right wing/populist leaders.

His nationalization policies totally wrecked the country's economy in the long run, the effects of which we are still yet to recover from. But a lot of Pakistani's still remember him very fondly, the morale of the nation was so bad after the 1971 defeat and yet under Bhutto's leadership we had so much international attention, foreign leaders visiting Pakistan e.t.c. Way more attention compared to Bangladesh

Arguably the best leader produced by Pakistan. We deserve to be supplied with garbage like Zardari and Nawaz since we donot respect our true leaders. :(

Yes best leader whose achievements include:

1. Nationalizing industries and destroying institutions
2. Inducting matric fail sifarishis as teachers, completely destroying the education system which was very respectable at the time
3. Splitting the country in half by not accepting East Pakistan mandate
4. Killing of political opponents
5. Building up personal wealth by unabated looting and plundering

These are just from the top of my head. If this is our best leader in history, then Pakistan ka Allah hi hafiz hai.

3. Splitting the country in half by not accepting East Pakistan mandate

Yahya deserves more blame for that though Bhutto's inflammatory comments didn't help and made him look like a collaborator.

Yahya was the head of state but refused to hand over power because the High Command didn't want to allow a regional party (Awami League) to be able to draft the Constitution. The negotiations were deadlocked but they were never officially ended - it was Yahya's announcement of military operation that ended the talks.

Bhutto was in a tough spot with the Six Points. Awami League wanted West Pakistan to assume responsibility for the majority of the federal govt's external debt. East Pakistan was to contribute only 24% of the centre's costs and that was to be set against "reparations" due from West Pakistan. Therefore the costs would be nearly entirely borne by the Western Wing.

If any West Pakistani, let alone a Sindhi, agreed to that it would be political suicide. The PPP itself was divided and would've been opposed especially in Punjab where Bhutto received support in 1970 from military constituencies.

Prove the points 2,3,4,5 especially 5.You can shoot as much from the hip as you want but as a matter of fact, Bhutto's accomplishments are something no other Pakistani leader has been able to achieve after Independence.

1.Founder of Atomic Bomb
2.Founder of 1973 Constitution(Still in Use)
3.Land Reforms
4.Best Foreign Policy in the history of Pakistan paving way for improvement in our relations with Russia,China,Iran,Middle East and even India.
5.Sacrificed his life for Pakistan despite being innocent when he could have easily ran away to the countries that condemned his trial and desired to save him.

The last one is something that only great leaders can pull off considering how the likes of Nawaz and Zardari flee as soon as they find themselves in trouble.

You do realize that his family has sucked the blood of this country dry for over 35 years?

Notwithstanding the fact that Bhutto was no saint and had his flaws,he was anything but corrupt or a murderer.Under ZAB and Ayub,Pakistan actually progressed and we were doing alright.Credit where its due.
As far as Benazir and Zardari are concerned, apparently they are crooks, accused of corruption and money laundering and I donot support charlatans or PP anymore in case you are inquistive.ZAB didnt tell his successors to chant "Aaj bhi Bhutto Zinda Hai,Kal bhi"blah blah with the objective to fool public and garner votes.People should give it a rest when it comes to ZAB at least.

This guy should be a hero in Bangladesh because he's was one of the main vocalists in Bangladesh independence

He did not kill anyone.
there is no proof about killing.

He did not split the country in half. Read history, you have to be a ******* to approve Mujebs 6 points.

lol at personal wealth....

The guy could had easily ran away when he was out on bail. Yet he stayed. and not only he stayed, he started those train jalsa which gathered more support.

The guy ended up giving his life for Pakistan.. ANd then we got the likes of Syed1 insulting him.....

Funny how he himself wont live hear, but put false accusations on thsoe who gave their life to this country.
