She is 92 years old and old enough to be his mother nothing wrong in it.

Touching.

Surely IK has the potential to be one of the great world leaders. I doubt anyone wants to hold hands with Modi or Trump.

She seemed to be as happy as a 5 year old.

This was probably what she felt like after the photo shoot.

Malaysia’s first lady thrilled to hold PM Imran’s hand

Prime Minister Imran Khan has his fair share of fans, with the Pakistani premier seemingly making a new one in Malaysia’s first lady during his official visit to the country.

In a video shared on Twitter, Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali can be seen expressing her excitement for holding the cricket legend-turned-politician’s hand after gleefully asking him, “Can I hold your hand?”

PM Imran replies, “Yes sure” and posed for press photos. All in presence including Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohammad were all smiles enjoying the cordial ties between leaders of the two countries.

Earlier in the day, PM Imran met his Malaysian counterpart at his official residence.

‘Tabdeeli’ takes time, Imran Khan doesn’t have a magic wand: First lady

He is on a two-day official visit to Malaysia, where he said that Pakistan wants to learn from Malaysia’s economic development and progress through the years.

The premier had also invited Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohammad to attend Pakistan Day celebration in 2019. The two countries have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, privatisation, foreign direct investment, food and tourism.

“We look up to him [Mahatir] – a leader who transformed his country. We have followed Malaysia’s progress and my party [Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf] wants to learn from your leadership. How Malaysia transformed its economy, developed and raised per capita and gross domestic product.”

Lovely and motherly gesture from the Malaysian PM's wife. IK is genuinely loved and that's charisma for you

Now, had this been vice versa, pakistan women wanting to hold a foreign politicians hand, then the ruckus would had been worth watching.

Infact, if i remember correctly, there was a Pakistani politician who had to quit politics due to something like this.

Nilofer Bakhtiar... Anyone remember?

Mahathir is also like 95 but he looks so fit mashallah and walks without any support etc

I remember that and not that I agree with what happened but it was not remotely similar

In that case there was a hug with a man her age. Not that I agree with what happened but in this case Imran Khan is holding hands with a woman who is probably the age his mother would have been if she was alive

Malaysia is not perfect but its developed at a good pace and hopefully we can develop good relations with them. Mrs Mahathir is holding IK's like an elderly auntie holds her nephews hand.

Sweet gesture. Holding the hand of an older Mother like lady is a kind gesture. In Pak men hold other men's hands:dw What's all that about!!?

Trying too hard? You know you are better than that.

Although others do too, I have seen it more prominent among the Pathans and the Tableeghi Jamaat people. Also is quite common among GCC Arabs.

Malaysia’s First Lady Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali had emerged as a fan of Prime Minister Imran Khan during his recent visit to the country.

A video clip from the premier's visit to Kuala Lumpur last month showed Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s wife turning to PM Imran and asking: "Prime minister, can I hold your hand?"

Now a video has emerged of the Malaysian first lady speaking at a cheque presentation ceremony by Global Doctors Malaysia and sharing how she held hands with Russian President Vladimir Putin and PM Imran.

‘Can I hold your hand?’ Malaysian first lady asks PM Imran

Recalling the day she took the picture with PM Imran, Siti Hasmah said that they posed for photographs after a lunch. "Mahathir asked to arrange for a picture-taking session. You photographers were there. You know what happened. At that point, he was about to leave. So we took our positions. I asked him if I could take his hand. He said yes,” she recounted.

"So I took his hand. Why I did that is because he is another illustrious son who came to our humble home. So what is wrong with that? Why are you jealous?" she asked.

Regarding holding Putin’s hold, Siti Hasmah said, "My daughter-in-law saw the reports online and she teased me that she was 'ashamed' of me flirting with Putin." She then spoke about the time Putin visited them many years ago in their home "which was the smallest, not like other palaces".

"Putin was one of the lustrous leaders who came to our humble house during an official visit to Kuala Lumpur during the 10 years when we were sidelined and not invited to many functions. He came to our house on his way back to the airport," she said.

The Malaysian first lady also told the audience that she once mistakenly held another man's hand instead of her husband's owing to her poor eyesight. She said, "I was so ashamed. I scolded my husband and told him 'this is what happens when you are not beside me'."

Lol, typical social media story apt for the 2010s.

Wouldn't have made the news 10 years ago.
