Nasser Hussain's words after Tom Curran's dismissal by a yorker from Hasan Ali:

"Where was it earlier?"

"This is what they have been lacking in the 3 ODI games; This is what we expect from the Men In Green"

"Hit the block-hole, hit the wickets, get yourself back in the game"

"There is nothing for length in modern cricket"

He was exceptional really considering the circumstances. This is the best I've seen him bowl on a true flat track. He maintained composure throughout his spell.

Sarfaraz needs to keep giving him the new ball.

No one is able to understand the reason for lack of yorkers.

No one is able to understand the reason for lack of yorkers.

Fear and inability to execute. Hasnain is a puppy and Junaid is a poor bowler. Since Hasan was the only one capable, for him to execute, the others have to remain economical.

With his height he shouldnt be bowling so many short balls.
He bowled some beautiful outswingers last night with the new ball, and i think he needs to build on that and bowl 4 overs with slips and go for wickets.
And if he has the ability to bowl such yorkers then why doesnt he bowl them more often

....and we blame Babar's "SLOW" 100 and the last 9 100s in the losses?

Ok Babar's innings was legendary :) on that pitch. His 17 singles before he reached a 100 was superb. His 0 fours in 10 overs was fantastic.

Babar is our best batsman, least of our problems, not a problem at all in fact.

People need to realize Imam wasted several balls, so did Sarfraz. About 20+ balls easily wasted in the last few overs by both - huge culprits. They just don't have the ODI game of today.

And then trash bowling from Junaid, others.

The bowlers are going nowhere under Azhar.

Oh no, Nasser is back with his usual cliches to describe Pakistan cricket. It is disappointing to see a world class commentator and analyst reduce himself to a meme when it comes to Pakistan matches.

Expect more of the "one minute down, one minute up" nonsense in the World Cup every time we take a wicket or win a game.

Well, that didn't take much to bring you on the same page! :P :)

No but seriously..... as many thread and posts are going on criticizing the batting in the series, in comparison very little is being said about the bowling.

Yes, Babar did not bat as well as Roy but Roy was batting against arguably the WORST (statistically) bowling team in the world. Babar was batting against a very decent bowling attack.

Let's not forget..... England is a #1 team for a reason and playing at home.

Pakistani bowlers have worst S/R, 2nd worst average since 1/1/2018;

You can do as many charts as you want, but we all know that Babar should have scored quicker than he did yesterday.

Are you joining the band wagon of the fan's who believe stats don't mean anything? :)

I totally respect your opinion that "Babar should have scored at a quicker rate" because this is exactly what I used to say that batsmen of 2011-2015 should have scored at a much quicker rate than their normal 70-75 as this chart and many of my old post show. But unfortunately very few posters agreed with me all those 4 years.

Please note the batsmen highlighted with "0" 100s combined for 61 fifties, no hundreds in 286 ODIs combined.

Not to mention, our rate of scoring runs was the worst in the whole world during that time frame.

Mind boggling delivery

He really needed that to conjure up his inner demons into this perfect riposte

Embarrassing you’re blaming Babar when Fakhar and Hafeez scored at the same rate, got their eye in and didn’t build scoring half what Babar did

Or the “finishers” who couldn’t score even a 100 in the last 10 with seven wickets

Yes lets show disgust for Nasser Hussain, who happens to be one of the two best commentators in world cricket but love for one of the most incompetent commentators in Ramiz Raja.

they want to ruin our best batsmen, Babar is not a big hitting player, his job is to anchor the inning, anyone saying he should play quicker are not proper fans.

There is alot of love for Haris here, granted if he was good as Babar or if his fitness was on par with him then we could have said Babar needs to change.

Haris need to play quicker..

i tell you what was criminal, Imam came back to bat and wasted deliveries, at least Hasnain and Junaid would have had a crack.

Made no sense... and clearly as you said this forum wants to turn Babar into a 60 and out dasher rather than a match winning centurion.

Let’s objectively look at the reasons for defeat- lack of Yorkers and poor bowling is the main one

Exactly spot on ..:that was the time imam should have tried to hit boundaries even if he got out no one would be on his case cuz that was the time to try and excute

What triggers you sir? He was critical of the lack of yorkers and it didn't sound like he wanted to woo Pakistan fans. By "this is what is expected from men in green" he refers to your bowlers of the past who were masters in nailing yorkers.

What about the strike rates in last 5 years in comparison to other teams?

Scoring 9 centuries and all in losing cause inside 6 months is also a stat which tells a story of its own.

+1.

It's really embarrassing some folks are going after Babar here, rather than the real culprits - Imad, Imam, Sarfraz.

And, the bowling too.

Yes cant deny that it was also a big blunder from our Team management adding to their telly of 100s now.

That Imam innings in the end turned out to be 6 of 20 balls.

Lack of match fitness is the reason for lack of Yorker you have to bend your back :nehra

You clearly didn't listen to his commentary in the match, and don't pretend you did.

What about the strike rates in last 5 years in comparison to other teams?

Sure. I am planning on creating a new thread at the end of this series where I will show how our batting has improved between the two World Cups - 2011 to 2015 and 2015 to 2019.

What story.... that our batsmen are doing a very fine job but our bowlers have completely lost their swing and yorkers?

Not wrong is Nasser. Too much short pitched bowls and quite a few in the slot. This needs to change.

And, the bowling too.

He was physically incapable of hitting big shots since he was hit earlier in the game. His job was just to turn strike to the other batsman when he came to bat again.

Babar failed to do what Imam did, Imam helped us to 358.. Babar only managed 340 after slowing down for his century.

Imam plays for the team, Babar plays for himself.

Pathetic from you, sorry to say.
Why you feel so annoyed when a world class commentator praises Pakistan? There is still a reason to love Pakistan cricket team. Why you are always so negative with your own country of origin!

He was never the same after the 0-3 thrashing by Bangladesh.

Babar isn't the only one to blame but it was embarassing watching someone batting for himself ahead of the team.

I repeat, no boundaries for 10 overs by him between 27 and 37 overs, 17 singles up to his century. These are the numbers of someone batting for himself and not the team.

Even Waqar wasa asking why is that when Babar was playing aggressive shots so late in the day

He certainly did and that's saying something because he's always favoured
a conservative approach with the bat.

They beat full strength India and South Africa 2-1 after thrashing us.

Not to mention we played one of the worst XIs ever.

They're the definition of home track bullies.
They've never won a series outside of bd against any top 5 side.

Well, we technically are. We've thrashed anyone who's played against us in pak.

Those World XI, Zimbabwe, West Indies series' don't count.

Come on :))

We lost 1-2 to Sri Lanka in 2009 famous for the 75 all out and 22-6.

Failed in the Asia Cup in 2008

We lost 2-3 to South Africa in 2007
