I know that his domestic stats aren't impressive. But in my opinion he was hard done by the selectors. Played a clutch innings of 77 against Bangladesh to take Pakistan to a respectable score and even on his t20i debut vs Australia he top scored on a difficult pitch. He also is an exceptional fielder and lightning quick in the outfield. Seems to me like a player similar to Australia's Marcus Stoinis who punch above their weight in international cricket as compared to their domestic stats.

What did he do right? Has always looked horrible when I've watched him and the 77 runs he scored were him punching above his weight

Yes he scores 30s and 40s in pressure situations at a limited strike rate which proves inconsequential if the target is too high. Thats about it. Not worth the investment. Pakistan has better players.

Average Cricketer. He went redundant with many better all-rounders emerging

He didn't do too badly when he was in the Pakistan team. Played a fighting innings against Bangladesh. But in the PSL he hasn't done much. He's been decent in domestics recently so a good PSL for Zalmi if he gets a chance is critical for him.

Not learn the skills of an actual cricketer? he's depressingly mediocre, should not be in the same atmosphere as the national side

Even if he does have a good PSL, he will land nowhere for the foreseeable future as he will be competing with Shadab for a slot, and the latter has done tremendously well recently. His only salvation would have been as a companion to Yasir Shah, but Saad is nowhere close to being a decent test leggie.

Was it Bangladesh or Zimbabwe?

He's more of a middle order batsman, and 90% of our batsman coming up from domestics are middle order, with no one good enough to be an opener and a no.3, or a lower order hard hitter

There is complete generation which was hard done by the PCB to keep Akmals, MAlik and Afridi in the squad and unfortunately this problem continues to this day. Guy is known for his rescue game, whenever his team needs. Made 44 off 80 today for his side could'nt take the Lahore Blues team past 200. His namesake Mohammad Saad played more balls [20 off 50 balls] but they needed him to stay as they lost early wickets.

Again same thing happened Inzamam favorites, Kamran Akmal went for duck, followed by Sami Aslam [7 off 15] and Umar Akmal [4 off 6], after which the middle order tried to control damage and help team build a solid total. On this pitch Kamran Akmal getting out is really shameful.

That's true but Shadab is more a bowler who can bat whereas Nasim is a batsman who can bowl a bit. But tbh I can't see him getting into any 3 of our sides atm because his batting isn't amazing neither is his bowling. He's still only 27 so he definitely can improve in batting/bowling still.

QeA20, Round 9, Day 1:

Saad Nasim’s fighting 81 not out further consolidated Central Punjab’s position in the match. The middle-order batsman had smashed seven fours and three sixes from the 132 balls he had faced.

He is basically Shadab with bad luck.

There isn’t much of a difference between the two in terms of core skills.

Hundred for Saad Nasim - 110* at the moment

From PCB Report: Round 10, Day 1, QeA20 - CP v SP

In the latter half of the day, Saad Nasim – fresh of a century in the last match – supported Usman as the 30-year-old right-handed batsman recorded a brisk 72 off 71, studded with five fours and four sixes.

Shahid Anwar, the Central Punjab coach, said a couple days ago that he’s been working with Saad Nasim. “2 saal se kuch nahi kar raha tha.”

Interesting to see his form in the QeA trophy now with 600 runs and now a hundred in the one day cup.

When I saw him batting while playing for Pakistan , I was really surprised with the low level of his batting skill and technique, you rarely see at international level. He could be OK for domestic level but not at all beyond that .
