[VIDEO] "When I'd go to the toss with the Indian captain, he would be looking scared": PM Imran Khan

I don't think anyone would disagree that the mid 1980s to 2000 was the golden era of Pakistan cricket. Knowing Imran, he is bound to add spice to it by making statements like this. A bit poor coming from a PM but to each his own.

Basically what you are saying is:

I won't go beyond cricket but will bring Modi (i guess) into the picture without saying so. :))

Sounds about right. Lol.

Yep. I stand by my statements

Dude is an embarassment based on his cricket comments lol.

Yes I thought the signal would have been enough.

Thing is one could have easily disagreed with Imran by saying he is wrong (Indian cricketing structure is not good or Pakistan doesnt have tent, whatever) and talked in the cricketing terms but, no. The intentions were pretty clear from some posters that its not about putting across a point rather being cringy and act funny.

So once the discussion goes there, all sorts of avenues open for everybody else too and people starting should be getting and should be able to take them on the chin as well. :smith

You are probably young and new to this forum.

If you knew me, you wouldn't say that.

There is a pattern to Imran's chest thumping and its getting tiring now. Lol.

Anyways... I give the same treatment to all.

See how Kohli and Sachin are treated for their statements in the last month.

What Imran said is the truth. It's certainly not political as he has said similar before being PM and about other teams like Graham Gooch at the 1992 WC final toss, and especially Allan Border's attitude in the same tournament with him mentioning Border's negative mindset with comments such as "What if we lose?" to the Aussie media.

I don't understand the offence taken (from some Indian fans) and why people put everything down to political, especially as its Imran's point of view as captain which he has a right too.

The other truth side to it which hasn't probably be mentioned is that now at present and since 2003 or 2007 its the other way round i.e. most Pak captains probably look scared as India are now the much better team (unlike the 1980's and 1990's). Now as a Pak fan I am not offended if someone says similar about recent Pak teams and captains, especially in WC matches.

Visionary leader - Pakistan has lot of talent which needs a better structure

Small Leader - Pakistan has more talent than India but needs a better system

When u keep trying to score cheap brownie points over ur rivals - it reeks of insecurity & jealousy !

Bro you can look at my debut, its not like I have joined last month (3 years later than you). I think we have interacted before as well, I know you and believe that you are a pretty good poster. Thing is Kohli and Sachin are not PMs of the country so I would assume that talking about the PM of a country in a same manner just because he has given view about cricket and is an ex cricketer is not on same level. Further, you are talking about catering the suckers and what not.

I have no issues at all with that as its an open forum and everyone can share views however, when views go into the direction of topics which are not cricket related and targeting an individual who is more than a cricketer currently than obviously things get to drift away.

I also meant no disrespect but, just shared my views regarding the topic where the discussion was going. If you have seen me post before you will also know that I am a pretty unbiased poster more often than not.

Don't know what's more cringy....

Imran's delusional statements or the ones who think he has "riled up" or "hit a nerve"...

I'm going with the latter. :shezzy2

Yeah i have seen you post so i was a bit surprised at your post insinuating that i have an ulterior motive to insult the PM of pakistan.

I get your point.

Just that my views are strictly cricketing related.

I can write a long essay on how Imran's rhetorics have affected Pakistan cricket in the last 20 years but it isnt needed. A lot of discussion has been done on that regard.

What Pakistan needs is less jazma and more realism to go from strength to strength.

And by the way, i aint in the business of defending my PM here anyways (or scoring political brownie points) if you know what i mean. :P

Fair enough. I also believe nobody needs to defend any PM here especially on the cricket side of the forum so we should keep the discussion purely around cricket. I wasnt sure of your views as talked about catering some people.

I agree some sound like a ten year olds. Imran saying Pakistan has more talent than India when India won against Australia with there C team sounds very dishonest.

He was just saying what was his impression, it wasn't meant to belittle India. Most Indian fans who witnessed their teams of that era would probably agree.

Imran is absolutely right. A war inflicted country with below par domestic cricket and zero home matches has produced some outstanding victories.

Champions trophy win, t20 world cup win, a drawn series in england, odi series win in Ind and Sa.

Now imagine what can this team achieve with a strong domestic cricket and by playing at home. I reckon we will be a top side in 5 years.
Agreed. The only way is up from here.

Let haters hate.
