[VIDEO] Younis Khan's glorious 218 at The Oval in 2016

Seriously what a legend, no doubt the best test batsman of all time from Pakistan and it will take a long time to possibly displace him. My only wish was to see him crack 40 tons and then retire.

267 vs India, 177* vs SL in a record chase, 218 vs England at the Oval his top 3 knocks for sure!

I stopped watching Test cricket until the Autumn of 2014.

It was the start of his golden run and a pure pleasure to see him make hundreds almost every match.

Indian batting should learn from YK.

I think Indian batsmen might wake up in the final Test after failing in every innings like younis, or maybe not. We have to wait and see.

Shaz wasn’t joking. This is the best knock in the history of the game.

Not quite. Not even close.

That distinction belongs to a certain mustache wearing (now designer stubble), slightly overweight, Englishman named Graham Alan Gooch.

He scored 154 out of total of 252 (with the next highest score of 27) against an attack of Walsh, Ambrose, Marshall, and Patterson on a typically green Headingly pitch near the twilight of his career in 1991.

The series will be over by that time Younis made his runs when it still counted

Why not? At least it will make them "competitive" by winning a dead rubber just like in SA.

But Younis had no contribution in the win at Lord’s. Pakistan played the first three Tests with 10 men because Younis was a walking wicket, who made every effort to ensure that Pakistan go into the Oval Test 3-0 down.

The only way they can be competitive now is by performing in the next Test. No point in winning the last Test.

I remember watching that live and realising he changed his stance to previous games in the series. The commentators confirmed it later too. The stance in which he struggled was lower and he seemed off-balance every time he tried to get forward.

Once he fixed that issue he looked like he's old self. One of the best players I've been lucky enough to see in Pakistani whites.

Also regarding the trolls and moronic haters, talk about his cricket not his character off it.

Actually younis made 33 of 73 in the first innings and a 25 of 95 in the second innings at lords. He was struggling alright but didn't throw his wicket away. Was involved in important fifty plus partnerships in either innings, first with Misbah, second with Shafiq. Definitely not a walking wicket, with a valuable contribution to the win.

In fact he averaged 57 deliveries per dismissal in that series before that crucial double hundred. The reason everyone was critical of him was because of the standards we've come to expect of him, and rightly so. I'm sure he expected the same from himself. Anyway, a match winning and series levelling double hundred in away conditions, when you walk in with your team 200 behind and leave with your team 200 ahead has certainly compensated to some degree. And makes for wonderful memories too.

That inning doesn’t count since it was in Oval, London.

A terrific double, just when Pakistan needed it. I had forgotten that he had to bat for about 70 runs with the tail and managed to shield them at times, score at other times. A great, great knock in a great series, one that Pakistan would have won if not for that one big session from Stokes and Mo.

You are wrong, younis was a hopping, jumping, dancing wicket

One of the best innings in test cricket in the recent past. The indian team needs to watch this innings ball by ball. No highlights or fast-forward nonsense. Also, they need to download it on their phones and watch it before they go to sleep. They also need to hire Younis as their batting consultant:yk2

If you wanted to show a youngster how to construct an innings, cash in on a start and bat with the tail - you can't go wrong by showing them this magnificent knock from Younis Khan.

When he was gloriously cover driving Anderson and Broad on that third morning you knew he was back with a bang and there was nothing stopping him. Even the LBW decisiom he was out to was dubious.

Thank you Mohammad Azharuddin for the phone call !

Today was the day when he made this double-hundred - what a Test!

The way he dominated the bowlers and turned the Test on its head was beyond special, what a man, what a fighting champion, they don’t make them like Younis anymore, he was the real ‘special one’ , miss him touring these shores, the current Pakistan batting line up is a bit of a joke and am afraid Babar has a long way to before being compared to the greatness of Younis.

Will Pakistan ever get another test batsman as great as Younis Khan? Even Babar Azam is nowhere near Younis imo.
