Playing his first T20 Match and ended up with the man of the match. I was hugely impressed with his passion and aggression.

He was consistently bowling 145 Kph plus picking up 3 wickets. Also, with the bat hit some stunning shots and won his team the match.

One to keep an eye on.

Looking Sharp. Great video quality as well.

Something doesnt seem right with the speed gun. No way does he bowl at 145 kph. I actually watched his entire spell and most of his pace was in the 130-140 kph bracket.

Mediocre stats after 13 FC games , bat avg 18 with out a single fifty to his name , bowling avg of 33 without a 5 wicket hall ,infact just 19 wickets in 26 FC innings and his age already 25+ officially.

Maybe I missed few deliveries of his spell but, the ones I watched were 135-140 kph. However a pace of 135+ is still pretty good especially for an all rounder.

Batted pretty well showing decent temperament.

He is 25 so needs to keep on creating impact to give a decent trajectory to his career.

He has been the best fast bowler AR

Scored 133 runs, Avg 66.50 with SR 207.81

Aamir Jamal is named player of the match for his breezy 17-ball 47 not out and impressive bowling figures of 3-27 for Norther vs SP

Well, he ain’t 25 but still a good find

Some good players finally coming through now

PSL has done wonders for Pakistan

From what I have seen, his batting looks a bit better than his bowling. Very hard and big hitter.

Seems like an ok bowler. Didn't seem that particularly fast but someone to watch out for certainly.

Not to forget the new domestic structure which gives more limelight to performers and the quality of cricket is much higher which prepares the players well. PSL definitely tests that temperament with much more eyes and crowd. Aamer would be hoping to get a contract in PSL in the upcoming season.

Agreed.

His bowling isn't great even if he is 140. His best bet is to develop himself for the power hitter role.

I have seen his batting he can hit the ball long and his bowling is ok.

He is the type of cricketing investing in. So going by our logic we will wait another 3 years and then pick him, by then he will be pretty useless and the selectors will pat themselves on the back for being right all along. He is around 85mph and can bat at 8, surely worth an investment.

Other way around..domestic feeds PSL which helps domestic..and international..

The new domestic structure is baring some early fruit..

In T20s he can walk into our batting unit as a hitter in place of Khushdil or Chacha plus his bowling will not be a complete failure in Aus conditions.

Stop calling sloggers all rounders. Sick and tired of ‘all rounders’ in Pakistan. Score at least 10 first class centuries and have at least the same amount of fifers to earn that label. These Micky mouse t20 slogging does not make you all rounder.

Well he can compete with Asif and Khushdil without doing any of that.

Agreed he noting more then a slogger and his bowling is awful to say the least. Not sure what posters see in him maybe a couple of sixes is enough for someone to be considered for Pakistan and no he’s no way near Khushdil, ifti etc.

Actually anyone who can hit couple of sixes against real 140k pacers are actually better than Khushdil hence good enough for Pakistan.

This guy struggles against 130kph for a start plus I read here from a poster that Khushdil actually has higher sr against fast bowler. I don’t like Khushdil but he’s million miles better then this guy. Let him perform first then ask him to be included in Pakistan team. What has he don’t other then 1 game in his whole career.

He needs to perform atleast 2 seasons on the Trot unless he's something special.

He's nothing special so he must earn his place in the squad by performing his dual role.

Earns a maiden call-up for the T20I series against England.

This kid has got the X factor. I know it when I see it. Replace Iftikhar with him if we hope to preserve the remaining ounce of our izzat after being humiliated and torn apart by a no name Sri Lankan squad in the final.

Watch out for Asif Mahmood too

Gun fielder, decent bowler and I heard he’s a decent batsman too

I haven't watched any of the NT20. But judging by the numbers alone, looks like a premature selection? Looks like someone has seen him hit a six or two and felt he could be the next big thing.

Guess what! Another northern player has been selected by this clueless selector. I don't know if this Jamal guy is good or not but he surely has been helped by this chief selector.

He is the worst chief selector ever.

lol, if you haven't seen him then why bother running your mouth? Northern is the best team to select players from anyways with the modern way they play and encourage youth on the team.

Selected one player from Sindh team & Northern team. Both standouts outside of Saim Ayub. Jamal is a big time power hitter and can bowl decent medium pace too.

I noted about him earlier on September 6:

From what I have seen, his batting looks a bit better than his bowling. Very hard and big hitter.

Call up is sooner than I expected but Pakistan is clearly on the lookout for big power hitters.

Where and when did he come into the mix?

Out of nowhere really as he's never even been picked by any PSL side either over the years as he only started playing T20 a year ago.

His selection seems rather random.

PCB made no effort to look for or groom any proper fast bowling allrounders after Mahmood and Abdul Razzaq retired. The selectors may be desperate so they picked him.Anwar Ali and Amad Butt were promising at once time but I don’t think they are international level.

It is random thier are players who are more deserving .

Absolutely , no doubt about. He did not drop a single one from the three big failures , Khurshid, Chacha and Asif, joke of a selector .

The likes of Hasarange bhanuka nissanka chamika and all have been making the headlines throughout last season. I think pak missed out on doing their homework against them.

All he needs to focus at is hitting boundaries and bowling yorkers. Don't distract yourself with defense and other deliveries.

Aamer Yamin Anwar Ali Abdur Rauf Bilawal Bhatti Aizaz Cheema Imad Butt Usman Shinwari Tabish Khan Sajid Khan Noman Ali Zafar Ali Agha Farhan Riffatullah Mehmand Awais ZIA Umer Amin and so and so on all we're exceptional talents but Alas
So don't get your hopes high its only few who can perform at this level like Imam Ul Haq Khusdil Shah

I wish this guy the best of luck, hopefully he performs in any game he gets and somehow gets into the squad for the T20WC.

Aamer Jamal earned a maiden call-up to the national side recently. The all-rounder has scored 227 runs in 12 T20s at a strike rate of 178.74 and has taken 14 wickets

The guy has serious potential with the bat and can play short pitch delivery as well. His bowling is a plus.

Plays equally well on both sides of the wicket, definitely looks as good as Asif Ali. Any one with a slight knowledge of cricket can see that this guy is a better batsmen than Khushdil when it comes to range and power hitting.

Babar
Rizwan
Shan
Shahdab
Haider
Nawaz
Amir
Asif
Waseem/Naseem
Shaheen
Rauf

Gives an option of 4 Pacers and two spinners, pretty much an ideal combination for Australian conditions. And we can use any of our power hitter to bat at the top order of one of Rizwan or Babar fails or if the opposition total is high.

Our finishers have set the bar pretty low so anything above decent from this guy will secure his place in the team for a long time.

Mate, this is a very useful lineup. I’d still go with Naseem, given that he tends to do bits w/ the new ball. Wasim is serviceable with the new ball, but he’s better first change. Unless Rauf opens w/ Shaheen

I guess our openers have set the bar too high now :)))

I can't see a single reason for persisting with Khushdil. Jamal should get his chance.

The bar is high enough for guys like Sharjeel and Fakhar to never open again. In Sharjeel's case, he will never play international cricket again. I can't believe people want us to be 15/2 in 8 out of 10 matches.

Aamer can easily come in for Asif.

Happy he is getting a game. Now give him the next 2 aswell.

Hopefully he gets to bat because that's really all I look forward to in Jamal.

Hopefully he gets a proper chance to bat and bowl

Not the way guys like Rizwan, Babar and Shan just eat up deliveries leaving nothing to the rest!

Khushdil should be dropped.Asif is a pinch hitter.Khushdil is neither a proper batsmen or a pinch hitter.Pakistan need to look for replacements for Khushdil,Asif and Ifti Chacha.

Aamir Jamal registers his second first-class five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 5-38

9ahqVYl.png

All-rounder Aamir Jamal recorded his first-class career’s second five-wicket haul on the first day of the fifth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23 returning five for 38 for Northern against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium.

The right-armer accounted for Kamran Ghulam, Adil Amin, Mohammad Sarwar Afridi, Imran Khan Snr and Irfanullah Shah as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were bowled out for 175 in just 38.5 overs.

Hopefully he gets a proper chance to bat and bowl

Not the way guys like Rizwan, Babar and Shan just eat up deliveries leaving nothing to the rest!

They ate up all the deliveries and look at the mess we are in now!

In the QeA Trophy

In Abbottabad, Northern all-rounder Aamir Jamal delivered the best bowling performance of the season against Balochistan. The right-arm medium pacer took eight wickets for 120 in 30 overs as Balochistan made 375. This was Aamir’s third five-wicket haul in 18 first-class matches and bests his previous figures of five for 38.

What a waste to leave him at home. 2 chances and you’re out…. Lol, pathetic as usual from the PCB.

The requirements to perform for the long rope vary for PCB

Shan needed a couple of decent knocks for a long run in the team

Jamal needed 3/4 extraordinary performances to get his flight booked for NZ/Australia!

Needs to be in our next Test side

wnN68gb.png

In the test team because he performed in one inning? Was it really that great? The pitch looked pretty green - do we expect anything like that for the England test series which would warrant playing a fast bowling all rounder? Should
we be looking for performance over a longer time frame when making test selections?

He's neither a batter or a bowler but then again we don't really have a pace bowling all rounder or a batting all rounder.

What's his actual pace?

Post says express but cricinfo lists him as medium?

Seam bowling allrounder is a fantastic addition to any squad and something Pakistan has lacked for a while.

I think we need to stop calling him an all rounder

Look at Mohammad Wasim, he isnt an all rounder at all (despite the rep and having better stats than Jamal)

Pakistan really need an Abdul Razzaq, we never replaced him

He's Medium pacer the only Express pacers in Pakistan is Rauf

He could have been picked for the series against England?

A good spell from Jamal, picks up 3 wickets upfront. Hoping to see similar performances while batting

<div style="width: 100%; height: 0px; position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.250%;"><iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/asvwpw" frameborder="0" width="100%" height="100%" allowfullscreen style="width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;"></iframe></div>

10x the all rounder Faheem, Wasim Jr etc are. Held his nerve in 1 of the only 2 games they let him play to take us home.

Babar is a fool for dropping him, he has no idea about how to put forward a solid XI.
