[VIDEOS] Aamer Jamal - the new express fast-bowling all-rounder?

I think he will be on the plane to India soon. Wasim Jnr is not helping himself.

This lad is good but not sure if he is ready to play international cricket yet. We may see him playing for Pakistan regularly in 1-2 years time.

Maybe it's a good thing he didn't get selected for the World Cup after he got whoppoped by Afghanistan yesterday. He conceded 23 runs in that last over, including a no-ball that went for 6. Maybe he's a tallent for the future but he choked when it mattered the most

Aamer Jamal's picked three wickets in 9 overs conceded 55 runs today against Faisalabad region.

He is in strong contention for the Australian tour.

The problem with him is that he is too erratic. He bowled 24 wides in a domestic ODI not too long ago.

Test cricket is the only place where an erratic bowler can look okay. He has wicket taking ability and can bat as well so should be considered.

Amir Jamal looks way above 30, so its better to invest on youngster who can serve u longer.

Try to get someone from under 19 and groom them.

You can only make him a FB all-rounder by actually letting him bat up the order.

Let him open, bat at 5 or 6

Just make him feel like he has to contribute both with the bat and ball. Babar messed it up by batting him at 9 against England in the pointless 7 match T20i series.

Surprisingly, he is consistently batting way down the order even in domestic matches, this might be a factor that Babar doesn't consider him as genuine all-rounder.

We need someone who can bat effectively in lower order not like a fraud faheem ashraf.

In what world is he an all rounder? Looking at his numbers, at best he's handy with a bat who can slog a few. His bowling should be the main criteria for his selection

Aamer Jamal has been called up for his Test debut in the Australia tour 2023-24. If we look at his FC record, he has played just 27 FC matches, taking 76 wickets at an economy of 3.64, and his batting average in FC is just 21.06. But I hope he will prove himself and make the most of this opportunity.

Pretty unusual technique for a batter to duck under a ball. But he could not do much with the bat against PM IX on day 2 of the 4-day tour game. He scored just 5 runs off 34 balls.

Calling it now. If he wants to contribute anything as a test batter, he simply has to attack attack attack until he gets out. Can score useful 30 odd runs that way. He won't amount to anything if he takes the defensive approach.

Aamer Jamal and Faheem Ashraf need to get a real grip.

They haven’t been selected to do Tuk Tuk. They are supposed to be the lower order muscle. If we need someone to do Tuk Tuk, trust me there are plenty on the wings waiting to do so.

Not doing enough in the 4-day match to make a case for selection for the 1st test match. Looks to be bowling all over the place and also 3 no balls? No good really.

The problem is these guys do well in domestics, but when the big stage arrives, they look very timid. I don't know if it is the pressure of internationals or the conditions are not suitable but this has been a norm in Pakistani cricket.

He hasn't even done well in domestics, and it's not like he's some young up and comer... he's 27 years old he should be nearing his peak. No idea how he made it to the team

Another hyped-up talent who many believe would have turned the World Cup on its head. But in reality, just another 4-over merchant

Who ever is not the 11 is automatically better than the ones playing. His went nearly 10 am over in the Pakistan cup last year and as I have said his batting is of no 9 at best. He has no potential at all neither good with the bat or ball.

Not a fan of faheem who is very average too but he's far better then any of our so called all rounder(pace bowling).

I think he has bowling potential on a better wicket I can see him out bowling Hamza, Faheem etc

Pakistan has announced its Playing 11 for the first test match Starting from tomorrow at Perth. Aamer Jamal has been named in that playing 11 and will be making his test debut at Perth.

This is not a good sign.

I think they should at least learn from the fitness level of Rizwan and Shah Masood. If not, at least learn from Misbah ul Haq. Our players have no awareness of a nutrition diet for athletes. They think eating normal food and all ingredients are just okay. They have to come out of this mentality and follow the modern nutrition diet for athletes.

Theirs no doubt, he needs a few refinements in his game but he must be persisted with.

I came across this guy when he was umpiring in league cricket in Rotherham and Sheffield a couple of years ago. So the above picture is no surprise. Its a typical umpire belly.

Proof of his umpring days on the link below

Surprised he never mentioned his umpiring stint in his recent interviews about his journey

I think for Jamal came is that he simply hasn't bowled long spells in domestic.

Seeing players like Jamal and Shan captaining and the duo from Grandpa Garden as our spin attack Nouman & Sajid, getting more inclined towards Mamoon hypothesis that Pakistan has no talent left

After being run out for a duck in batting, Aamer Jamal came back stronger with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs against Khulna Tigers. Certainly, it is a match winning spell for Comilla Victorians in BPL 2024.

What a bowler. Lion hearted fighter. Hope he continues in this vein.

For effort. 100/100. This man always gives his best.

And thats what is wrong in Pak cricket. After a tough debut series vs Aus, instead of going back to Pak, he goes to play some low level T20 cricket. Then we wonder why players get injured or lack fitness.

The whole approach is pathetic!

can you blame them ? look how much t20 pays compared to tests. psl pays more than test contracts.

Babar Azam: 4.5 million Pakistani rupees per month ($15,500 per month)

Mohammad Rizwan: $15,500 per month

Shaheen Afridi: $15,500 per month

this is the pay cmon. its no where near enough.

Aamer Jamal can bowl mid-140s consistently. He is a good guy to invest in. Along with Wasim Jr. we have a potential all-rounder slot filled if these 2 can show a bit more responsibility with the bat especially Aamer, he can bat surely.v

he hardly bowls at 140!
Yea seems to have lost his pace since last year , this happens when you pretend to be 28 years old but in reality close to 32/33.

I expected his pace to be increase because he has been in the international setup with good coaches and good money to take care of his health in a professional way , seems like age is catching up on him earlier than expected.

In test it’s understandable to withhold yourself from bowling quick and keep it in the late 130s and early 140s which he was bowling in order to bowl longer spells but in t20 I was expecting him to go full throttle and smash the 150k barrier this season as last year he was so close to breaking it.

He is good as a bowler but needs to work on his batting if he really wants to be an all rounder.

Amir Jamal scored his first half-century in the PSL, achieving the milestone by scoring 50 runs off 27 deliveries.

What a gem of a player don’t care about his performances in circus leagues.. he was the best performer in Aus whoever performs in Aus has conquered the world.

He has to be in the Pakistan XI as a batting all rounder

The guy is a proper batsman

Finally a proper seam-bowling all-rounder we can invest in. I just hope we don't ruin him like we ruin all our fast-bowlers.

15000 USD per month PCB central contract?

i dont think these are the correct amounts PCB offering them, they are hardly getting 6 million rupees a month.

Jamal has proven once again why he is known to be an all-rounder. He just smashed the bowlers all around the park. Had he been supported at the other end, the game would have been won here. SO unfortunate but still it was a brilliant inning to ring a bell for other so-called allrounders.

It is okay to ignore the critics sometimes but they are useful as well sometimes to wake up the inner beast of yours.

---------------------

Aamer Jamal speaking during the Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United post-game presser:

“I don’t care about critics. As an all-rounder, I always strive to do my best. Whoever talks behind me, it doesn’t bother me. My main focus is to be an impactful player for the team whenever I get an opportunity in bowling or batting. As an all-rounder, you can’t expect to score 50 runs or take five wickets in every match. Sometimes it happens with the bat, and other times with the ball.”

Jamal looking in red hot form with the bat again. 11 off 3. Exciting cricketer. Seems to have the 'X' factor.

No need for the likes of Faheem and Chacha in the T20 WC now that we have Jamal...must be given all international T20 opportunities prior to the WC

It seems Jamal has secured a spot in the Pakistan team for the next T20 World Cup, replacing Haaris Rauf.

He will cost us games if allowed to bowl 4 overs every time , at best he should be the 6/7th bowler and allow to bowl 1 or 2 overs if other bowlers having off day , however his batting alone makes him a good member of the playing XI

His bowling will get better. You don't do well in Australia against Australia if you don't have something about your bowling.

Even yesterday when he got carted by Iftikhar he responded with a bouncer that made Iftikhar forget his age again.

He has all of the raw ingredients, just needs to learn how to deploy variations and learn a bit more bowling intelligence.

We talk a lot about grooming players - well he is someone that definitely needs groomed as he can be a massive asset. Maybe some time with some wiley old foxes like Sohail Tanvir, Mohammed Amir or even Yasir Arafat who know the T20 game, how to set up batsmen and how use the crease/variations could be very helpful.

Aamer Jamal gets a call from warwickshire and will join them soon for the English County 2024 matches.

This Champions One-Day Cup 2024 will define his fate for the future in ODIs for Pakistan

Aamir Jamal bowled this delivery way wide of the stumps, and it pitched and swung even further away from Yasir. But Yasir still went for it, throwing his bat at the ball. And then, the wicketkeeper Sajjad Ali Hashmi took this incredible diving catch to his right. Both Jamal and the keeper started celebrating, and the umpire gave Yasir out.

But here's the thing, when I took a closer look at the replay, I'm not even sure if the ball actually edged the bat! It looked like it sailed past the bat, with a pretty clear gap, before the keeper caught it. Still, Yasir just walked off without saying a word.

Looks finished as a bowler , his venom aggression and consistency in his bowling are all gone , must be close to 35 as his real age , his face looks so much older than 28/29 years old guy.

I don't like how his development has been progressing. Has been out injured a lot lately. Ideally you'd want him to be working both on his bowling and batting skills. Particularly batting up the order in domestic and learning variation with the ball for limited overs Cricket.
