What other options do we have? Abid Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Fakhar Zaman? Imran Butt? Sahibzada Farhan, Tayyab Tahir?
he needs a couple of county seasons.. should be persisted with

County cricket will do him wonders
Should Tayyab Tahir be tested as an opener?
he is one of the best and techincally sound player we have in the squad, he must play remianing matches too in this world cup in place of Fakhar Zaman. Why Abdullah is a part of our WC squad is completely beyond me. Why are we taking SUCH an inexperienced player in LOIs to the WC?
Saim Ayub and Haris are far, far superior batsmen.
Maybe this is his break through innsSeemed out of his depth in ODIs,
I am glad he played such an innings in his first match this early in the tournament that would be a great boost for him going into the next matches. Hopefully, he stays fit and in form throughout the tournament. One of the best innings ever played and this is his first world cup game, first ever list A century and 8th list A game.
Imagine being the guy who posted this two years ago on this thread, what a MORON lolI know Pakistan has a tendency to promote youngsters, but it is ridiculous how overhyped this guy is. He has done absolutely nothing to deserve a run in the national team and yet people are pushing for him in all formats lolol.
Totally. Became my favorite new Pakistani talent the day I saw his QeA debut century. Technically there is no better young batter than him in the country. Tbh recently even I got a bit skeptical about his LOI potential but thankfully today he has put those doubts to rest rather emphatically. However, this doesn’t mean it’ll be smooth sailing from here given how fickle we are as a nation. One failure and everyone will be baying for his blood. Even today when he was constructing his innings a lot of posters, and some sensible ones, were calling him timid, useless etc. etc. I was hoping and praying for just such an innings and thankfully he delivered.Who is with me?
This guy is a generational talent for all formats. What a player. Will go a long way and has a range of shots that's unmatched in the current Pakistan batting pedigree.

Issue is our cricketing sensibilities have been so overwhelmed by T20 cricket that we just cannot appreciate a proper innings that doesn’t include a six every over. The innings we saw today was a masterclass in how an ODI chase should be, intelligent and calculated.
l hope he now gets a good run in the team. On his part he needs to iron out a few kinks like his game against spin especially left arm spin.
Also, with his inclusion, 2 out of 4 of my favorite young batters are in the team (the other being Saud). now hoping both Saim and Omair also make it.
He scored the Qea hundred before the T20 HundredEven before that QeA hundred, he had a 100 in a National T20 chase, and that was the final of that tournament, I think. That was a masterful innings.
He's a good player I said he will be the standout batter in this world cupWho is with me?

Knew he had the textbook technique and skills to succeed, but showcasing these extra gears like he has done today means he has the potential to dominate in all 3 formats like we hoped Babar would. Hope he can make this WC a memorable one.A phenomenal innings the likes of which I have not seen by a Pakistani player in a long time.
Forget Babar, Abdullah is the real deal
