An American woman seeking her “unfaithful lover” in Karachi was shifted back to her apartment on Thursday after she protested at the women’s police station.

The woman had been staging a sit-in in the parking area of the flats since Wednesday, demanding $20,000 and Pakistani citizenship, after initially asking for $5,000.

Onya Andrew Robinson from New York arrived in Pakistan allegedly for her love for Pakistan by a 19-year-old man. The young man had allegedly convinced her of his love, but when his parents discovered that she was nearly twice his age, they refused to approve the marriage.

Onya claimed that she remained stranded for seven days, as her visa had expired after the man left her stranded at the airport.

Reports said that the boy remained missing. The woman allegedly missed her flight to the US and then went to the boy’s home. Upon finding the flat locked, she staged a sit-in in the parking area. When journalists questioned her about her visit, she became angry.

According to officials, the woman has been in Pakistan since October.

Meanwhile, ASP Defense Faria Sudhar claimed that “the woman was not mentally stable”. She added they could discuss matters further once at a secure place.

ASP Sudhar told reporters that there was a security issue regarding the American woman. “She is alone and we are providing her with security.”

In an interview with Aaj News, the American woman expressed her desire for Pakistani citizenship.

Earlier, the Ministry of Interior had booked her a ticket on a Qatar Airways flight scheduled for 10am to send her back to the US. But she refused to board the flgith, sources said.

Officials stated that arrangements were being made to provide Robinson with a fifteen-day visa to facilitate her return to the US. However, there has been no request from her to take action against the young man.

A two-member team from the American consulate met with Robinson at Karachi Airport on Wednesday. The consulate team informed airport officials that they could not forcibly send her back to the US if she did not wish to go, as doing so would be illegal.

The woman is a Nigerian-American and she is around 38 years old.

Her lover is a Pakistani man who is 19 years old. The guy is in Pakistan.

They fell in love online. The lady came to Pakistan to be with her guy. But, the guy's family doesn't approve because of the age difference (the lady is old enough to be his aunt).

She now refuses to leave Pakistan. She wants $20,000 and Pakistani citizenship.

She should be deported. She is making absurd demands.

Flight delayed at Karachi airport due to US woman’s emotional outburst over lost love

An American woman caused a disruption at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport after refusing to board her return flight on Wednesday, following a failed attempt to marry a Pakistani teenager she met online.

The woman, identified as O’Neija Andrew Robbins, had arrived in Karachi on October 11, 2024 to be with 19-year-old Nidal Memon, a resident of Garden West.

Their relationship reportedly developed through social media, but Memon’s family opposed the marriage, leading to a fallout.

Airport officials said Robbins resisted immigration clearance and declined to board a Qatar Airways flight arranged for her departure.

"She refused to go through immigration and later did not board the aircraft, causing a delay," an official said.

Security personnel were called in to escort her to the departure lounge, but airline sources confirmed that her refusal to board caused a 36-minute flight delay.

Under standard security protocols, passengers cannot be forcibly placed on an aircraft.

Authorities had contacted the US Consulate in Karachi for assistance, but no response was received, officials said.

The Interior Ministry had secured a ticket for Robbins on a flight to the United States, but she continued to resist leaving.

Police and airport security remain engaged in resolving the situation as officials explore further options to facilitate her departure.

The story began when the young man, a resident of Garden West in Karachi, struck up an online relationship with a married woman from the United States. The relationship quickly escalated, and the two exchanged heartfelt messages, building a connection that seemed to transcend the boundaries of continents.

As things grew more serious, the 19-year-old made a bold promise to the woman: once she arrived in Pakistan, they would get married.

The woman, captivated by the idea of a new life with the young man, made the life-altering decision to travel to Karachi. She booked her ticket, left her husband, and abandoned her two children to pursue the love she had been promised.

The teenager made sure everything was arranged on his end, inviting her to his hometown and assuring her that their love would come to fruition once she arrived.

However, upon her arrival in Karachi, things took a shocking and unexpected turn.

The young man, who had once been so full of promises, failed to show up. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the distressed woman at the airport, looking bewildered and confused. While many assumed she was simply another traveler, little did they know that her life had just taken a devastating twist.

The reasons for the 19-year-old’s abandonment were soon revealed. According to the teenager, his family was completely against the relationship and, as a result, a future between the two was impossible. With his family’s disapproval looming over him, he decided to leave the woman stranded, with no means of returning home.

Naturally, this left the woman in a state of utter shock and deep depression. Alone in a foreign country, with no support and no way to go back, she spent an agonizing week at Jinnah International Airport, desperately trying to figure out how to get home.

Fortunately, after hearing of her plight, the Sindh government and the JDC Foundation stepped in to help. They provided her with much-needed support, purchasing a return ticket to help her get back home and reunite with her family.

In addition to that, they covered her medical expenses, ensuring she received the care she needed during her stay.

Onijah Andrew: Stranded US woman son makes startling revelations

Jeremiah Andrew Robinson, Onijah’s son, revealed that his mother is mentally unstable and has impaired cognitive abilities.

According to Jeremia, his mother had traveled to Pakistan to meet a person and their family, but failed to return after two weeks. Despite efforts to persuade her to return, Onijah refused to come back.

Jeremia also claimed that he and his brother had tried to facilitate her return and bought her return ticket but she did not come back.

Earlier, the US woman, caused a stir in Karachi following a failed relationship with a local boy, has made a new claim.

33-year-old Onya Andrew claimed that she is a Muslim and married to her online lover, Nidal Memon, 19, who disappeared from his residence before arrival of the woman to his residential building.

The stranded woman was offered a ticket to leave to the US but she refused and reached the residential building of her teenage lover.

The US woman stayed there in the parking area but failed to meet the teenager, who ‘ditched’ her.

Onya was shifted to Tipu Sultan police station as guest houses reportedly refused to accommodate her and later she was shifted to Chippa Welfare Organisation’s head office.

After grooming women in UK, Pakistani men now grooming online as well. Not even sparing US women.

'Abandoned' American woman Onijah Robinson agrees to return home

American citizen Onijah Robinson on Friday agreed to return home after she travelled to Karachi in October last year to marry a Pakistani man Nidal Ahmed Memon, a 19-year-old who lives in the port city.

She made headlines after she was allegedly abandoned by her lover who said her family was not agreeing to their marriage.

Onijah had befriended Memon on social media and arrived in Karachi on October 11 intending to marry him. However, the proposal was refused by Memon’s family.

Later, an NGO provided her with a return ticket to the United States and financial assistance, but she refused to leave. Instead, she went to Memon’s residence and camped in the apartment's parking area.

However, Onijah has now agreed to return to America and has demanded a return ticket to New York, US.

"I would like for you guys to book my ticket back to New York […] money is short right now and I will appreciate it," Onijah says in a video obtained by Geo News.

Earlier today, Onijah addressed a presser with a chief of non-governmental organisaiton (NGO) wherein she claimed that she was looking for her husband.

"I will go to Dubai with my husband, give me money," she said as she demanded Rs100,000 from the government.

In an interesting turn of events, Onijah's son Jeremiah Robinson in a video statement claimed that his mother was suffering from a mental disorder.

In a video with blurred face, Jerimiah identified Onijah as his mother. He also shows a birth certificate which mentioned that Onijah gave birth to him in April 2008 at New York's Queens Hospital Centre.

Jerimiah termed the claims of her mother's love story as false.

"Her and Nidal knew each other, like before she went to Pakistan. She was only supposed to go to Pakistan to meet him and his family on just a vacation," he said referring to the alleged lover.

"When it was time for her to come back after the two weeks. I was trying to convince her to come back. She refused. Then Nidal did not deter and she was supposed to return back on January 15, when Nidal had booked her ticket," he said in a dim voice.

The youth said his mother had a "mental bipolar disorder", therefore, she was not mentally sound.

"I'm trying to help her as her son to come back to the US," Jerimiah said.

"The news and people they [are] all making fun of her and showing her personal private IDs without permission. And also she [...] was not married to nobody," he said.

The lady has a husband and 2 children.

It was shocking to see her leave her family for an online lover.

Anyway, good to see she decided to return home. Hopefully she will return to her normal life soon.

Agree.

The lady is 38. The guy is 19. How can the guy groom the lady? It was probably the other way.

She could be a scammer. She may have trapped this young Pakistani man and the dude fell for her.

A lesson for everyone not to mess with unknown people online.

He is old enough and not a small kid.

He is not 9 for Pasta's sake. He is 19. He knew what he was doing.

You have written post #16 and post #17. Both are contradicting each other.

Yes. He is an adult. But, 19 is still pretty young considering the lady is close to 40.

Technically the guy is adult but being 19 isn't matured enough. When i was 19 , i was doing some stupid things which i wouldn't have done at the age of 25 or 30.

He was probably having some fun online only to find out a bored mid aged housewife took things seriously and decided to knock his front door half way across the world. The guy must be like- 'what the actual fish, lol'

If women started taking things seriously in my case, i would be having 100s of wives from all across the world 😂

It’s about intentions.

She was flirting with him with other ideas in her head.
He was in it as a mode to get off . He is no kid.

This story reminds me of a personal experience. There was a married woman who tried to add me on Facebook. She was trying to chat with me. I blocked her very quickly. I found her very odd.

I think something like this happened to this Pakistani dude too. He should've blocked.

I'm a Pakistani now, should be treated as such: Robbins

Onija Andrew Robbins, an American woman who travelled to the metropolitan city driven by her love for a Pakistani young man, has said that she is now a Pakistani woman and should be treated as such.

Robbins, 33, fell in love with 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, a resident of Garden West, online, left her two children in the United States, and flew into Pakistan three months ago to be with her love - only to be ditched and betrayed by him. However, she claims that they had already contracted marriage online via a website called International Utah.

While speaking at a press conference alongside Chhipa Foundation head Ramzan Chhipa on Friday, Robbins stated that she places her trust in the laws of Pakistan and in Allah Almighty.

She also said that she wishes to travel to Dubai with her husband and requested $100,000 from the government. Of this amount, she asked for $10,000 for herself, with the remaining money intended for the "reconstruction of Karachi."

She claimed that her goal is to contribute to the city's development by working for its betterment.

During the press conference, Robbins became upset with Chhipa, who later appealed to Nidal who had invited her to Karachi to come forward and help resolve the situation. The matter should be handled amicably and that Robbins should be allowed to return to her home country, Chhipa said, offering his Foundation's help in mediating the dispute. Chhipa expressed concern about the mental health of Robbins, who behaved weirdly during the press conference even refusing to sit next to Chhipa to face the media persons.

Following the press conference, Robbins tried to leave, but was placed in an ambulance for transport. She requested to be taken to Tipu Sultan police station, but halfway there, she changed her mind and asked to be dropped off. She then boarded a rickshaw, which broke down but was later repaired. Robbins, who has refused to return to the US, visited several guesthouses near Nursery in an attempt to secure a room, but was turned away. Finally, she entered a guesthouse and claimed that she had left her diamond ring behind. The management, however, denied this claim.

Subsequently, Robbins was taken back to the Chhipa Foundation's head office.

At the end of the day, Robbins booked an online taxi for the apartment belonging to Nidal in Garden West. Shortly after, she was transferred under police protection to an undisclosed location.

In a video statement, Onijah’s son said he had learnt form media that his mother was in Pakistan.

Surprised that Pakistan is putting up with this. A complete nutcase.

Should be returned to USA and let USA foot her bills.

Stranded American Onijah Robinson receives Rs100K

Onijah Andrew Robinson, an American woman who traveled to Karachi to marry a 19-year-old local man, had publicly demanded $100,000 to help facilitate her return to the United States and "fix Pakistan."

However, she has apparently received only Rs100,000 (around $320). A video circulating online shows Robinson counting the money, with the person recording confirming that she now possesses Rs100,000.

Robinson, 33, arrived in Karachi on October 11, 2024, intending to wed Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she met on social media.

However, Memon's family opposed the union, leaving her stranded.

Despite assistance from a non-governmental organisation, including a return ticket and financial aid, Robinson initially refused to leave and camped outside Memon's residence.

In a press conference at the Chhipa Welfare Organisation's office, Robinson stated, "Give me money. The government should give me $100,000."

She claimed to have married Memon online and insisted her intentions were not financially motivated.

Robinson's son, Jeremiah, revealed that his mother suffers from bipolar disorder and urged her to return home. He expressed concern over the media's portrayal of her situation.

Authorities have since transferred Robinson to the psychiatric ward of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for evaluation.

American woman Onija departs for USA from Pakistan

An American woman, Onija Robbins, departed from Pakistan to the United States on Emirates flight EK 603.

She was assisted by the authorities at Karachi Airport, including officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the police.

The airport authorities provided special assistance as Onija prepared for her departure from Karachi. The collaboration from all involved helped ensure a smooth and efficient departure process for the American woman.

Hats off to Pakistanis for the way they have dealt with this whole situation and along the way showed their genuinely nice and humane side to the rest of the world especially to the Black community which cannot stop praising the Pakistani people for treating this woman with respect and love despite the awkwardness of the whole situation.

So from what we know so far, Onijah Robinson is an American Black woman who recently travelled all the way to Karachi to meet her 19-year old online friend Ahmed Memon. But what was meant to be a romantic journey took an unforeseen twist when Nidal’s family refused to meet her, leaving her stranded and confused.

The initial reports made here a meme for social media. People were trolling but along the way we saw a side of Pakistan that’s not often portrayed to the world.

The locals, authorities and media treated her with patience, kindness, and respect, rather than dismissing her concerns.

The Sindh Governor, Kamran Khan Tessori, personally ensured that she was looked after. He not only extended her visa but also arranged for her safe return home.

While the woman’s demands sounded funny, the people and the authorities did not just rudely shut her up but tried to understand her confusions, her insecurities and treated her in the most generous way possible, giving her food, shelter, safety and above all public sympathy.

This has won my heart and I would like to applaud the people of Pakistan from the bottom of my heart for this display of humanity in its most generous form.

While Onijah’s journey may not have ended as planned, she will leave Pakistan with a new appreciation for its people and from all the comments I have been seeing from the black community on the social media they’re showering Pakistanis with nothing but love.

The Champions Trophy is coming in a weeks time or something but Pakistan seems to have won the much bigger trophy already.

Keep it going guys! ❤️

Intentionally not posting pictures and videos here because some people might again look at it as a meme to laugh off. But the general message here really is about being patient with people we don’t really know, to genuinely try to understand their pain and their story before being judgemental and dismissive about their grievances. To look at people beyond the colour of their skin, their religion, their nationality.

I continue to believe that people of these lands are really nice people who have seen way too many wars and poverty for centuries and still remain decent citizens.

Not sure if the people who post here realise this, but this story has gone viral on social media. Lots of Americans are posting on different platforms that they were lied to by their govt about Pakistan, and the people of that country have shown this lady remarkable hospitality even when she due to some of her medical issues, she was not always so polite herself.

Pakistani people have done wonders for the reputation of their country.

:( It was fun while it lasted. So long Onija. Her trip reminds me of that Mr. Bean movie where he goes to US and the painting of Whistler's mother is messed up.

The funny thing was how Chipa got trolled. Poor guy used to sit quietly on Ramazan shows and was asked to keep quiet. Guy had it coming, since he wanted to do self promotion through this women.

More respect for Edhi Saab.

After grooming women in UK, Pakistani men now grooming online as well. Not even sparing US women.

This has to be the dumbest post I have ever seen on Pakpassion. How do you groom a 38 year old, plz do tell us

Na, alot of these news that we see of some foreign girl coming to Pakistan to get married and it becomes headlines are actually sham marriages for nationality.

They do such agreement, than the lawyer in Pakistan advices them lets get the media involved and make the whole thing be more authentic. Nowadays we have soo many youtuber journalist that they will cover any news they find. So alot of such paper marriages take place.

This case I think was of a women with mental issues, but the Sindh govt acted like idiots. Had this been an Indian or Pakistani in US with an expired visa, we all know how they would had been treated. The govt should not had catered to her needs and should had deported this women and follow the proper protocol.

This has been big here. Kids at school were talking about her. I know as PKs we have lots of flaws but we showed alot of Pastoral care for a women that is mentally ill. If Sindh govt treated her well, well done to them

Sindh Govt protected her from getting more marriage invites, harassment incidents. Because truth be told there were alot of Pakistani men who were lining up to meet her and marry her just to get into USA.

But Sindh Govt should had proceeded with proper deportation. They allowed her to delay a flight and could't forcefully handcuff her for deportation is ridiculous. This was the Sikander Islamabad event all over again where one person was able to make the whole system hostage.

While we might giving ourselves pat on the back about the humanity part, but once again the govt failed to implement law and order and allowed one person to sabotage and take the while system as hostage.

Like fgs a mentally ill person is allowed to give a press conference blabber about wanting a million dollars to fix karachi up and the whole media showed up to give her airtime and listen to her bakwas.
